Certified Handyman & Remodeling

Took 3 days to return initial phone call, once we set up a meeting for him to take a look at things and provide an estimate, haven't heard from him in 2 weeks despite follow up phone calls and voice messages left.

Mr. Durban and his crew did an excellent job. They were professional and punctual. I plan to hire them again for more jobs around my house.

WENTGREAT!!! He cut hole in drywall, ran wiring, rehung the drywall and finished it. only me and my wife know that there was ever a hole cut in the drywall. While he was in there he added reinforcment for the tv that i had not even thought of. IT LOOKS THAT GOOD. Very professional and prompt.

Owner was professional and answered my endless list of questions. Offered advice when I needed to make decisions on something as simple as how tall I wanted the shower bench and where I wanted my caddie in the shower wall. His laborers who came to work in the bathroom were also very professional and even took the extra time to sweep and use the Swiffer to clean up in areas where they were walking in and out! Very happy with work done. Top Notch! I have a bathroom I can show off now!

I hired Pat D. for a partial kitchen remodel and I was very satisfied with the work him and his team completed for me. They were punctual, clean, and professional at all times. Long story short, Pat was able to give my wife and I several options on design and build and worked with us to ensure we were satisfied with finished product. Like any project there were deviations from the original plan and they took those changes in stride and never complained about it. There was constant communication with Pat and anytime I needed to reach him there was never an issue. Price was fair, quality was good and I do intend on using this company for future projects.

Certified Handyman did an outstanding job with our basement remodel. Work included all demo, moving of some plumbing and electrical, installing doors and frames, lighting, flooring, drywall and painting. The work was done on time if not early, at a fair price, and with the utmost quality and professionalism. I would recommend Certified Handyman to anyone doing a remodel of any size. Great work gentlemen!

Everything went well enough; job was completed with not much in the way of surprises.

Owner Patrick Durbin came to our house to evaluate several things around the house we needed addressed. He arrived on time and was nice, explained things thoroughly, and promised an estimate the following evening. I didn't hear from him and called to follow up. I was never able to reach him and left multiple voice messages over a period of several days. I also sent an e-mail and did not receive a response. I had high hopes for the beginning of a long-term relationship with a reliable handyman, but the experience turned out to be just the opposite. I took off work to meet him at the house. It's unfortunate that he finds it acceptable to waste the time, effort, and money of potential customers. If he didn't want the business, all he had to do was say so.

We had a very tall order for Pat, complete bathroom remodel on our first floor bathroom. It doesnt sound that involved but the first day of the renovation was our first day moving into the house! Needless to say everything went off without a hitch. The bathroom was completely torn out within hours and they never were in the way of all the moving. Totally professional at all times. The remodel was completed in no time, completely updated plumbing, electrical, walls rebuilt from studs out, this was a total remodel. We could not be more satisfied! We were constantly changing how we wanted things done, and asking for unique materials. Pat always accommodated our needs. We were so happy with the work that we immediately had him come back and do a privacy fence/double gate install. The old fence was torn out and the new installed over the course of the weekend, again completely satisfied!

He did a good job. He did what he said he would, and cleaned up.

These guys are terrific. I wasn't as happy with the tile sub-contractor, but these guys are great. They like to work together and bring a happy energy to the job. They communicate at every stage in the process. I've done four bathrooms now, and these were, by far, the best experience. Hire them. They're so good that you may have to wait awhile.

They showed up on time and went right to work. After many trips up and down the stairs with rolls of carpet they swept the floor and removed all the tack strips and staples. All of the stuff was hauled away.

Hard workers, boss came by everyday to check on things

This job was done very professionally. The cold wet weather conditions played a role in getting the job done on some days but Patrick made a really good effort to get the job done quickly for me. The guys were clean and neat and I was very satisfied. I would definitely use Patrick's company again and I would recommend him to my family, friends, and neighbors. I found Patrick's listing in the Catholic newspaper the Record and then read his reviews on Angie's list. I got 2 other estimates and his was the most reasonable and he seemed to be more of the kind of person that you could depend on then the other two contractors. My husband and I were very happy with the work and that we were able to find a handyman who could do these types of jobs for us around our house.

He never showed. Never heard from him again. Another vanishing act by some self-employed, fly-by-night guy... and I picked out this guy on Angie's List. Two months later I still haven't found anybody who actually shows up to do the work.

Patrick and another man came out and assessed the damage and intended repair. They came on a later, pre-arranged date and cut out a section of the ceiling(approx. 8" x 12") and replaced it with new drywall. They also repaired the holes in two walls where intercoms had been removed(approx 4"x4") and mudded both. The other man came back the next day to finish the texture on the ceiling and the sanding of the other two repairs. He seemed in a hurry and when I pointed out to him that the hole repair job needed further work, he told me I could use a wet sand procedure to finish the job. This turned out to be unsuccessful and I had to call Pat out to repair the repair. After he did so, everything was satisfactory.

Steve came to do various small jobs around my home and completed everything. This man really knows what he is doing. He was very personable and a delight to have around. You won't be disappointed in his work. They are busy all the time and have many repeat customers, so wait for them, as I did. I highly recommend this company!

Pat and his guys did all the big items, removed all cabinets, moved apliances, repaired any problems with drywall, they installed cabinets and counter top. Pat was very helpful in picking out back splash that looks good with the rest of kitchen. I installed faucet with a little help from CH,Pat checked my work, all good. They got kitchen together, My wife and I finished by painting. We didn't have problems with CH being late, they where there when they said they would be. Good people.

Went awesome. He told me that with the drywall and painting would take about 3 days to complete. Sure enough 3 days later I wag cutting a check and could not be happier.

Patrick and Steve Arrived on time and were very professional and friendly. They were willing to do whatever I asked and they knew how to do it well. I added one more item after they got there and that was not a problem. I felt the price was very fair. I would use them again and recommend them.

All of that came out perfectly well. They had to meet the schedule for someone else that was coming in to do some other work in the same space. So it involved them in getting a subcontractor to do a portion of the work, which is something they don't normally do and they did all of those things perfectly well and on time so I couldn't have been more pleased. They did exactly what I contracted them for; there were no cost over runs or anything like that. It was the perfect job, which is exactly what I wanted from them.

Making the appointment went smoothly; Mr. Durbin asked all the right questions up front. I sent him photos of the area, which showed him that there were a couple of things that he didn't know about when he made the initial estimate. He was up front about the extra time and expense. We made an appointment, Mr Durbin arrived on time with two assistants. The work was done efficiently. The crew was polite and pleasant to talk to. The results were good, and the crew cleaned up after themselves. Overall, the experience was great.

They were thorough, professional, smart about proposing alternates to save us money, and a pleasure to have around. We found Pat on Angie's list and selected him mostly because of his large number of positive reviews. We happily add ours to the list!

Patrick came and measured the vent that was damaged by raccoons. He couldn't find one to fit in the local hardware stores and so he sourced a company online to manufacture one and had it shipped to my home. I painted it and Patrick and his crew came and removed the old vent and installed the new one. The installation required chiseling of some brickwork inside the opening due to a lip on the vent that was not on the original. I was glad I didn't have to tackle that job myself.

I had high hopes for Certified Handyman. On a Sat. I dicovered that the floor beneath my water heater had rotted away, leaving the water heater hanging by its pipes. I emailed Certified Handyman (found them on Angie's List), and the owner called me back within just a few minutes. We arranged for a workman to come to the house around 9 am on Monday; the owner would be by later following another appt. On Monday, two very nice fellows arrived, but couldn't figure out how to drain the water heater. They told me I needed a "real plumber." I asked if they could recommend someone, and they said they'd talk to the owner. That's the last I heard from Certified Handyman. I waited two hours expecting a call back, and then i called a "real plumber",who arrived within the hour and did the repairs. He had no trouble draining the water heater. The owner of Certified Handyman seemed like a decent man over the phone and he gets good reviews from the folks he actually does work for, but I give him a C for leaving me hanging after we agreed for him to do much needed repairs.
