Pat and his team did a great job on our house. We had a one big room as the add on and they turned it into 3 wonderful rooms with a bathroom. The frame work is awesome and the paint job was done wonderfully. Our family couldn't be happier with the work and plan on using his team again for future projects.

Showed up on time every day foreman was in the house on the job every day to check on the workers, left the premises as clean as they possibly could while under construction, finished in a timely manner. All employees on the premises were courteous and polite and understanding. And respectful. And any concerns that we had spoke to the foreman and he addressed them immediately or came over to check on them

Pat ( owner) is very good to work with: excellent communication, very reliable, pricing was very fair, jobs completed on time AND within budget. Pat has done both regular handyman work for us and just completed a full kitchen remodel. For our kitchen remodel in our 90+ year old home, the price I was quoted was the price I paid despite there being the (expected in an old house) “ hiccups/ surprises” once work started. I’ve done several kitchen remodels before and knew what I wanted, and Pat was great at working with me to my vision ( a lot of contractors are not. He was really a partner. Due to Pat’s creative suggestions and fantastic woodworking skills, I was able to afford “ custom” features on a much lower budget than purchasing from the cabinet company: custom charging station, built a cabinet for our cutting boards in a leftover space, outfitted a non-standard exhaust solution and created a gorgeous custom glass display cabinet (for less than half of what others quoted) . Friends said to expect serious time overruns but our job was completed on-time. Overall jobs have gone very well and we are thrilled with our beautiful new kitchen!

Took about a week for them to call me back and after they came out to look at the job never called me back with an estimate.

From the beginning of the project, Pat was an excellent communicator and asked for my input on all aspects of the job. He and the team were punctual, respectful, and responsive. They all were honest, knowledgeable and worked hard to please. My husband and I are thrilled with the results of the renovation.

I found Pat Durbin Certified Handyman in The Record (Catholic newspaper) in fall 2017. I had two other quotes for my bathroom. Pat showed up to quote my small upstairs bathroom. He came in at a better price and could start relatively soon after he quoted. He is so easy to work with. His crew is awesome. He offers suggestions about your space based on what you tell him you want. His experience is exactly what you want when it’s time to make a change or completly remodel. He took our bathroom down to the studs and gave us the remodel we wanted. We loved it so much our son used him on his complete basement remodel (adding a bathroom downstairs) and taking a wall out of his dining room and remodeling the dining area. He was fine with my son doing some of the work to save money, i.e. taking wall out by landing in dining room, painting walls & ceiling in basement, scrapping popcorn ceiling etc etc. 😊 Next, we were ready to GUT our old kitchen. Our highland house is 96 years old. He knocked wall out, added support beam , took hallway bathroom out and opened wall in butlers pantry. Put new bathroom in butlers pantry bigger than hall bath was with nice window usage. Replaced kitchen back area windows too. Really fantastic look. We choose granite and white cabinets with dove gray island and bath vanity. Granite people at Global to buy, Eleet to install. I rate both of them high too. Would use them all again! Shout out to Bargain supply for our hood & Superiore 6 burner, 2 oven range they installed. Pat did great job on hood install. One really great find was DoorCorner.com. Got my hardware a lot less than the big box stores. Sturdy well made hardware.Shipped very fast. Ordered kraftmade cabinets from Lowe’s. Sale at time of 25% of special order was worth it! Certified Handyman (Pat Durbin) and his crew did all plumbing, moving ductwork/vents, electrical, painting, bamboo floor install, construction of walls, baseboard & trim design and install. Cleaned up after job was completed and taped and sealed off other rooms from remodel site before the job started. Pat always listens to ideas or changes even in middle of the job. His crew takes his lead and is extremely good at each of their special areas. I hope we stay in our house quite a while longer to enjoy this beautiful remodel! I left two voicemail message for Patrick over the course of 2 weeks and he has returned neither one of them. I just find it so unprofessional and discourteous when a contractor lists themselves on Angie's List and then cannot be bothered to return prospective client calls ... our time and effort is not as valuable Mr. Durbin's is, apparently.

Certified Handyman has performed several remodeling projects for my wife and I at our residence. The work has been done in a timely and professional manner to our satisfaction at a reasonable price. They have returned promptly to rectify any lingering problems. In short, we were satisfied and would hire them again.

Pat and his team did an excellent job with the addition of the dormer, expanding the bathroom, insulate & drywall bedroom, and added bedroom to basement. Pat had great ideas to help with the remodel. Pat and his team were friendly, reliable, and competent to handle whatever job you may need done. I would highly recommend Certified Handyman and will be using them again in the near future for another property I own.

Patrick Durbin is the general contractor and performed the work along with several of his employees. He is very detail oriented and does an excellent job. He made suggestions along the way for improvements that I would not have thought of. I would recommend him for any large or small project.

We needed our interior stair railing repaired, as the bannister had come loose from the wall and was creating a safety risk for our family. I reached out to Pat and received a same day response. He was extremely professional and worked to understand exactly what our needs were. He was able to have a carpenter out to us less than 48 hours after our initial consultation. Jesse was the carpenter assigned to the job and he was absolutely wonderful! He arrived early for our appointment and got straight to work assessing the situation. He was very personable and explained what he would be doing to repair our stairwell. The repairs were made and our stairs are better than they were before! Jesse did a great job! We are very happy with the results and would not hesitate to hire Certified Handyman for our next home improvement project or repair. Thanks very much!! - Michele J.

Great! Pat's crew of James, Josh, & George were polite & easy to work with. Any concerns were addressed immediately. And, at the end of every day, they cleaned up and left the house spotless. Pat was always just a phone call away. He runs a top notch business!

My project got put on hold. Initially, everything was great. That's why I called him back.

I bet you I left 4 or 5 different messages for him to do the job. Not once did he answer. Not once did he call me back. I texted him. I called him. I thought that was pretty shi**y.

Certified Handyman's price was clear, detailed, and competitive. Communication was prompt and responsive throughout; we were always consulted about significant decisions. His crew was courteous and trustworthy, and we are very pleased with the work result. Protection of our furnishings from dust and mess was thorough, and the clean-up was very good. We will certainly contract with this company again.

Mr. Durbin was easy to contact, highly knowledgable, highly skilled and communicated reliably. Scheduled appointments were kept in a totally professional manner. All issues were corrected perfectly. Never heard back from him so I couldn't hire him.

He came out and gave an estimate, after reviewing all the estimates we decided to go with this company. It took a while to get a hold of him and he did finally get us a contract (end of May beginning of June 2016). I had some questions on the timing that that actual work would be done. He said he was busy and told us the work would likely be done in July. We did tell him to take his time and just let us know when he wanted to get started. I guess he took us at our word about taking his time because I never heard from him again after that point. It's November now and we still don't have our bathroom redone. If you don't want to do the work why give an estimate? I could have gotten another company to do it, Now I have to wait till I have the time to do the work again and get someone else.

Pat's team does great work. I'm very picky and I have very high standards, and they are always willing to go the extra step to make things exactly the way I want. He does not nickel and dime you, which is a rare thing these days in the construction world. Very affordable, very reliable. We've used him for multiple projects now, big and small. We don't even call other contractors anymore, unless Pat says he's not able to do what we want.

Couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism of Pat Durbin of Certified Handyman. We had an old basketball goal at the bottom of the drive that our neighbors tell us was at least 30 years old - it was rusty, falling apart and a real eyesore. Pat offered me a couple of quotes over the phone for what it would cost to either saw the goal off at the base or dig it up from the ground. Considering the potential hassle and destruction involved in unearthing it, we opted to saw it down. Pat came round this morning and together with his two helpers finished their work, tidied the area and had the goal loaded in one of their trucks in less than an hour. We're so pleased with how the drive and garden look now!
