Description of Work: I first used this service for deep cleaning about a month ago. My house looked better than it had in years. The owner really knows this business and had the highest standards. I am extremely pleased with the service and are using them every two weeks to keep my place sparkling!

Description of Work: When I called I thought maybe I dialed the wrong number because the person on the other end only said hello, so I asked if this was A&R Cleaning Services and she just said yes and I explained I was interested in getting an estimate on having my house cleaned. The lady I spoke to was Rosie and she was very pleasant. But it started out very awkward, I think it would be a good idea for them to have a phone just for the business or let friends and family know they will be answering their phone as A&R Cleaning Services which would be more professional. As I said Rosie was very pleasant and we were able to set up a time for her to come out the next week to give me an estimate. She came right on time and again was very pleasant. I was impressed because she really looked around and wanted the lights on so she could see how much work my house would involve. She explained that the 1st. cleaning is always a deep cleaning and a little more expensive. This made sense to me and I was wanting a deep clean, I had fallen behind on cleaning due to some personal things going on in my family and I just wanted someone to come in and really clean so I could get back on track with my regular cleaning. I explained this to Rosie and said if things went well I might do this again for special occasions or just for some extra help through out the yr. Rosie told me they do all the things you don't normally do like cleaning the windows inside and out, cleaning the baseboards etc... and would even change the bed linens. I only wanted my upstairs done, which is about 1200 sq. ft., 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the living room and kitchen. She said they could do it in probably 4 hrs for $300.00 (this is with a $40.00 discount for the 1st time) and I just kind of looked at her and she said it may only take 3 hrs. which would be $200.00. This still seemed a little high to me but it was comparable to what I had seen on Angie's list and at this point to just have it done seemed well worth it to me. I decided even if they went over the 3 hrs. if they did a great job it would be worth it. When we went to set up a time I was wanting that Fri. coming up but could see her schedule was very full and I told her I could wait until Sat. or even the next week but she worked me in and I really appreciated it. She said she would be sending her daughter and some others but that she would be out at some point to check on the job, she said she always likes to check on 1st time jobs. I explained that I would be leaving with my grandson but that my daughter would be there. Fri. came and her team was at my home 15 mins. early , if her daughter came I never met her but a man came to my door and here they all came, there were 5 or 6 people. I got out of there way and left. Before they came I made sure everything was in place and I didn't have them change my bed linens because I just wanted them to be able to get in there and clean, clean , clean with no hinderances. My daughter called me after they had only been there about 2 hrs. and 10 mins. and said they were done, I talked to the man who came to my door and said I was paying for at least 3 hrs. and he said they had planned on only sending 3 people originally but sent 6 so they were done faster. So I told my daughter to give him $200.00 and I asked her if Rosie had come and she said no. When I got home it looked good at first glance, the 1st thing I noticed was things were not put back in there place which I thought might be so you would know things had been done but on some things like knick knacks it didn't even look like they tried, no big deal really. Then I noticed in the bathroom they had not dusted the top of either cabinets over the sink or toilet nor had they cleaned the bathroom floor inside the closet. In the living room I have a entertainment center for my TV and on top is a fake plant I lifted it and could visibly see the dust under and behind it they had only dusted in front of the plant, they had not dusted behind the TV either or the fireplace mantle. My leather couch and chair had not been touched, Rosie had said they vacuum your furniture and under the cushions. My cushions don't come off but you can get the vacuum wand down in the cushions and the leather needed to be wiped off at the least, this was a deep clean and it was obvious they needed some attention, I have a dog, a cat, 2 young boys and 3 very young grandchildren. To me these were basic things that should have been done and I was very disappointed. I use to clean houses for people and when I clean my own these are things that I do. This was the 1st time I had someone clean for me and I was excited and expecting excellent especially for this much money ($100.00 an hr.) and I only got Fair, it just wasn't worth it. I understand if Rosie was unable to come out to check on the job which may have made a difference but at least a call would have been nice to see if I was happy.

Description of Work: I have serious back problems that make it impossible for me to do more than just pick up after myself. I hate to admit it, but my house was grungy! A & R came in on a Saturday and spent 9 hours cleaning every nook and cranny in my home. They washed windows and wiped down walls and got rid of any evidence that I own a long-haired cat. They moved furniture and shelving and cleaned under and behind everything. My house sparkles and so does my mood since they were here. They did not start charging me until everyone on the crew was here. If you need any sort of cleaning done--deep cleaning like mine or monthly cleaning--call them soon. They are popular and very busy.

Description of Work: Three people showed up on time and started working immediately. All surfaces where “cleaned” and knickknacks where put back in their original places. The ladies did not take rest breaks nor wasted time. Each room was cleaned very thoroughly before going to the next. We all happy to recommend this company to any one else.
