Mr. Electric of Central Kentucky

I used the Angie's list big deal for 2 hours of electrical service for $99. 1) Actually buying the big deal from Angie's list did not go smoothly. I ended up with two big deals when I only wanted one, and can only use one. The receipt I received from Angie's list showed the incorrect amount charged to my credit card. I am still waiting for a refund for the second big deal I sent a couple of emails to Angie's list regarding the receipt and double billing problem, but Angie's list does not seem interested in fixing its website or receipt problems. (This is Angie's list problem and not Mr. Electric's.) 2) Scheduling the appointment went well. 3) The technician showed up an hour later than the scheduled time. 4) Now for the bait and switch.... The $99 dollars would not even cover the $120 diagnostic fee for the type I work I wanted done. The electrician told me they did not separate labor and materials. 5) I ended up with a $99 credit off their inflated prices for the big deal coupon. The work was performed in about 30 minutes, and the material was about 4 feet of wire run through an open wall. The net is that $99 purchased about 30 minutes of actual labor, and it cost me an additional $220.00 for about 4 feet of 20 AMP wire run through an open wall. The big deal was not a good deal.

Jamie was wonderful. Very friendly, very professional, and very knowledgeable. We purchased an angie's list deal for two hours of service. I thought the initial problem would take the whole two hours, if not more. However, Jamie finished in about forty five minutes. He looked at one other issue in the house, which ended up not needing any repairs, and saving me the cost of the supplies. I had some outlets that could have been switched out with the remaining time, but it turns out that the angie's list doesn't allow for you to purchase supplies from Mr. Electric while on the job, and I didn't buy any of the outlets ahead of time. I'm very happy with the service I received from Mr. Electric, and especially with Jamie.

I ended up getting a refund through Angie's List.

The technician Carl was superb, friendly to have the house and diligent in performing the work. He answered all my questions, and I feel I learned a lot from him. Anytime I need similar work done in the house, I am pleased to know who to call.

I found out that it's pretty simple and I don't need the deal. They were delightful when I spoke with them and they even told me how to get this done without their service. They were just terrific.

He was excellent. It was expensive, but I don't know how to compare him to other electricians. He was very knowledgeable, and he was very tidy also. Sometimes after people come to fix things, I have to clean the floor, but he was perfect. I have no problems recommending him to people, other than he is not cheap. We had cheap, and they didn't get the stuff fixed. Whoever had installed the fan before had not done it correctly, so he had to take it apart, put a different box in, and then put the fan in there. I feel really confident that he can fix things. He seems to be very knowledgeable, and he gives us an estimate, the price is never a surprise, and he explains everything, like what the problem is, and why it happens. My husband also had him at his business fixing something. I read reviews, and he had top reviews on the work that was done, and there were comments that he was more expensive than other people, but they said it was worth it, because everything was done okay. We had an electrician who was less expensive, but he couldn't figure out the problem, but Mr. Electric figured out the problem immediately. We called the company, and they came pretty promptly. They would let us know how soon they could get someone there, and give us an idea about if it was morning or afternoon. He was very professional. The person who came out to our house twice was super professional. He had a book that was professionally done, and it explained everything. I had never seen anything like that before.

This young man who came was knowledgeable, professional, and earned my trust right away., I personally thought their rates were a bit high but the piece of mind is worth it.

Pros: Everything went well. Mory was punctual, professional & competent. Cons: Was by far the highest estimate I received. Double the lowest estimate.

Eliectrician was somewhat uncertain about how to solve my problem.

Mr. Electric showed up on time. He did put the mat out front and booties on his shoes as stated in other reviews. I am sure the work would have been of top quality. Unfortunately, the quote came out to about $700.00. This is more than what I thought was reasonable for work that did not require any re-wiring or major complications.

I though the electrician was very . Before he entered my home he put down a mat outside and then he put on the kind of booties doctors might where in surgery. I was shocked...am so used to cleaning up a messy floor after a workman has finished. He had a book explaining the prices and the different things that could be wrong. Luckily, he found the bad wire immediately. I really did not expect more than an estimate so I could't believe that he stayed till almost 8 pm to finish the job. As far as the price goes it was a lot of money but we did not want to spend days getting estimates. We would not hesitate to use this company again. I want to add that we had someone else come twice . and the problem was never resolved.

Very well. Showed up on time. Did what I needed doing. It was something i wasn't comfortable doing. Clean, polite, professional.

The company representative was very prompt, friendly and professional. He was able to provide an on the spot estimate. Unfortunately it was very cost prohibitive and we chose to go with another provider

This was my first experience with Mr. Electric. The fellow that showed up for our estimate was punctual, nice, and very informed. They give you an estimate on the spot which is nice considering a lot of contractors wait and get back with you. We needed a security light installed on the side of our home and our main electrical box relocated. The light was our primary focus and we had been tinkering with the idea of moving the electrical box for some time and we still have not decided what to do about that. Still, while we had an electrician out, we felt it would be wise to go ahead and get estimates for both. He was nice enough to itemize the services. He said the light addition should not be a big job due to the wiring set up. Of course the electrical box is a huge job and we had budgeted for this based on previous estimates. Well, the addition of a security light was going to cost approximately 750.00. The electrical box being moved was going to be an additional 4000.00. Based on 4 or 5 other estimates we received, I found this to be absurdly high. As with all of my estimates, I run them by a friend who is a local electrician who I refuse to use for these services as I do not like to mix friendship with business. Still yet, he does go through the estimates with me to ensure nothing looks out of the ordinary. We did notice a 200.00 permit pulling fee. A permit, in reality, should cost no more than 100.00 at the most. I knew this based on experience with past contractors. The electrician also informed me that moving the electrical box was so high because he would have to increase the voltage, per code, once it was moved. He told me that, sometimes, they were able to pull some strings and the code inspector would allow them to keep the lower voltage (we live in an old house) and if that was the case it would drop from about 4K to 2000K. In speaking with my friend, he told me that this was not the case and that you could keep your current voltage if you liked (He inspects for the city, btw). The quote at 4000.00 was approx. 2000.00 higher than 5 other quotes we received. Now to the exterior security light. Approx. 750.00 was 400.00 higher than our highest quote we received before hand. I do feel like Mr. Electric would do good work but their prices are ridiculous and borderline insulting.

Mory showed up on time. Called as I requested when he was in the driveway. He went right to work & stayed on task. In other words he didn't talk on his cell phone during the job.

While expensive......buying 4 switches and outlets through Mr. Electric....I'm very satisfied with Mory and his work.

They did a great job. They arrived for the estimate and completed the work with in 24 hours. All the work was completed for less than the estimate given in addition to completing a free all home inspection.

My favorite repair folks. They bring the tools they need-even a broom to clean up the mess. You would never know they'd been there.

On time, very professional, very polite. It's good to see that some companies still care about customers! Rates are a little high, but they will do it right the first time. So if you can afford it, I highly recommend them. And peace of mind is almost priceless... I will use them again for any future electrical need.

The electrician arrived when promised and provided a detailed and accurate estimate. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner. Care was taken to clean up work areas.

It went great! The electrician was here for quite a while and he left absolutely no mess and nothing for us to do when the job was done except to start using our lamps!

The company electrician was very professional and courteous. However, the company charges off a price book that bears no relation to the cost/time of the service to be performed. I wanted some simple cable relocation that I have had done several times before by other vendors. The price quoted was at least 2-3 times more than I have paid for the same service in the past, even when more work was involved.

He was very business like, and a wondeful person all around with a good sense of humor. He listened to what I wanted. He was very willing to give me an estimate for different options.
