Description of Work: Contacted this company to replace the hot water heater on a house we are closing on in a few days. Only wanted estimate on 80 gallon tank and check availability on day of closing. Representative would not provide estimate over phone and would only discuss specifics after house had closed. I stated several times that I only wanted work to be performed AFTER closing.

Description of Work: removed old water heater, upgraded size and efficiency with a new one. Some repiping had to be done as well. They hauled off old materials and cleaned up as well.

The original problem was fixed, but our insta-hot hot water heater did not work after they left. We called them and they did not return our calls. When we finally got a hold of them, they would not admit they had caused the problem. My brother is a plumber (he lives in another city or I would use him!) and said this was caused by them not turning off the insta-hot before they turned off the water to the sink. They denied any culpability and we had to buy a new insta-hot on our own.

I would like to start off by saying the $3,000.00 that she spent with us was not on just one project? She had a plumber that quit on her and we had to come in and clean up some of his mess to be able to complete the job in a professional manner. She was very polite in letting us finish up the job. We did a bathroom remodel that cost around $2,000.00. Also we installed a 80 gallon electric water heater with expansion tank in basement for $1,058.00. However we have since moved from a Time and Material Company to a Straight Forward pricing Company. What does that mean to the owner is that we will give you pricing up front before we start any work and you have to sign off before we start. This way the customer knows and agrees to our pricing before any work is started and they know what the cost is before any work is started. We are a company that is properly insured, unlike most one man operations. So do take our customers very seriously in protecting their home, and that is why we are more than most one man operations is due to having all the right credentials.

I have recommended Pate to other people because I enjoyed his work so much. I do not recall a price for this because quite honestly, they have done a little bit of everything for us. However, they will give you a price over the phone when you call them. After doing the work, they will send you a bill in about a month or so. You do not have to pay them right away. Also, I called them one time on a Friday and they could not make it so they came on Saturday and did not charge me the weekend rate. I thought that was nice of them.
Description of Work: I had some drain cleaning done by Pate. They did a major clean out and replaced some faucets as well in my 1920's Bungalow House.

WE HERE AT PATE DO CHERISH OUR CUSTOMERS AND WE ARE PLEASED TO LEARN HOW WE ARE DOING AND IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT WE NEED TO DO BETTER. HOWEVER WE HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT INTO A FRANCHISE CALLED BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PLUMBING AND WILL BE DOING BUSINESS A LITTLE DIFFRENT IN ORDER TO SERVICE THE CUSTOMER MORE PROFESSIONAL IN THE FUTURE. WE WILL STILL OFFER SATURDAY WORK, BUT THE PAYMENT WILL BE MADE AS THE APPOINTMENT IF COMPLETE FROM HERE ON OUT DUE TO OVERDUE INVOICES THAT HAVE CONTINUED TO GO OVER 90 DAYS.
