Bone Dry Roofing & Masonry - Lexington

We sprung a leak during the recent bought of heavy storms. We were sure we needed a new roof, or at the very least, heavy repairs. However, when the roofer showed up he inspected the roof from on top, inside, and in our attic and assured us we had a solid roof in need of no major repairs. He said we only had a few areas where nails had come up and the flashing was loose around the chimney. He fixed those problems while he was here. He arrived a few minutes early, was very courteous and professional. We were very happy that we called someone honest who did not try to gouge us for repairs we didn't need.

. As far as I could tell, the roofing crew was competent and the roofing and replacement of sky lights were well done. The replacement siding and painting work were accomplished by different crews and I did not get the feeling that they were as professional or as competent as the roofers although the carpentry work was good. All the workers were Hispanic, some or all were Mexican. They did a good job of cleaning up the area at the conclusion of the work, though some showed little respect for the plants around the house. If my information is correct, all but the on-sight supervisor were sub-contract hire, not regular employees of Bone Dry. The supervisor was bi-lingual, attentive and on-sight for most of the work. The young lady in the office was pleasant, courteous and always prompt in returning calls. Otherwise, working with Bone Dry was not altogether a pleasant experience. At the outset, we developed great confidence and a high degree of respect for the Bone Dry manager. In the end we were disappointed and felt let down that he did not follow up as promised with some minor touch up work on the siding and paint job. It's been about six months now and, to the best of my knowledge, the work promised to take place in early November 2014, has not yet been accomplished. Lesson Learned: Do not make final payment to Bone Dry until all promised work is finished

Due to good reviews on Angie's List I contacted Bone Dry about a leak in my pre-fab fireplace chimney cap which was obviously deteriorating. As I expected, it was recommended the chimney chase lid and the flue cap be replaced. This was done within a couple weeks for $875 minus a 10% Angie's List discount. I live in a windy area and during the first rainstorm I heard water coming down the flue. I contacted Bone Dry and within a week a wind-resistant flue cap was installed at no additional cost. All of my dealings with the company were with Joe Hodges since he made the initial inspection and did the replacement work. Joe is obviously knowledgeable about his work, took care to move deck furniture out of the way, and was very easy to talk with. He is an excellent representative for the company.

As far has having roof damage this is about as good an experience as you can hope for. First off when I called I got to a human being first, no automated phone tree. They were very polite and got me scheduled for an assessment promptly. The best thing was they gave me a very small window of when the assessor would be there. None of this "He'll be there between 12-5" crap. The assessor showed up to my house 10 minutes before his appointment, which was great! He took his time to really review both inside and outside to see if there was any water damage. Turns out I didn't have any, which was good to hear. He could have easily told me I did and I would not have known any difference really so I was nervous. He took his time to explain what he was looking for and what it would look like if there was damage. He didn't have to take that extra time but he did and it set my mind at ease. He wrote up the ticket and told me exactly when the team would be there to fix it, which was 2-3 days later if memory serves. The team showed up to the house exactly when they said they would and got right to work. Took them about an hour and they were done. They were very professional and respectful through all the work. I hope I never have to call them again, but if I do, I know exactly where to go. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

All of the staff were very professional and responsive. They gave me an initial estimate, but had to increase it due to more extensive hidden water damage. They completed all of the work while I was out of town, but they kept in close communication with me on the status of the job. The cost was more than I wanted to pay (isn't it always?), but the materials and quality of work were great. So far, I have not had any additional problems with moisture behind the repaired wall. I would use this company again for future repairs and would recommend them to anyone needing brick repair.

Bone Dry Roofing did a previous job for us about two years ago. Repaired a small leak and inspected the roof. Very professional company. Provides quote prior to completing the job. The repair person showed up on time for the appointment and was thorough and quick about the work. I would recommend them to anyone needing a roofing company. When the time comes to replace our roof, we will call Bone Dry Roofing.

Everything was fantastic. Joe Hodges was the lead on the job . He was extremely accommodating and very demanding of his crew as far of the quality of the work goes. I have an old house that has brick that cannot be matched. Every other company told me that when they took out the lintels they would have to replace the old brick with brick that didn't match. Joe was able to reuse all the old brick. I was thrilled.

From first phone call to estimate, to work, I had my new roof in one week. Amazing! Very professional. Crew members in clean, bright red Bone Dry Roofing T-shirts identifying themselves. Oversseer check in 1-3 times. Outside clean up good. Initially I wasn't happy with the gutter guards. Owner cam over and walked around with me, agreed, and replaced within one week at no additional cost to me. My only complaint was regarding my attic. I wish they'd told me to cover boxes, Christmas decorations etc with tarps or plastic. I have a really nice, completely floored and insulated attic with a cedar closet etc, organized and clean. After the new roof installed, it was a mess.

The quote and the price was fine, but the good luck ended there. We were told it would take 1 to 2 days; ended up taking OVER a week. The excuses were vague and mostly related to damaged roofs in the area caused by hail storms that I've neither seen nor hear about. At one point they had the roof done, but left the old flashing on the back of the house. We reminded them (crew AND bosses) multiple times to replace it. If we had not been able to see the flashing from our upstairs windows I don't know that we'd even caught it. Worst of all, during the roof application the workers knocked CONSIDERABLE amounts of paint off the trim. While I understand that this couldn't be avoided, they should have put down tarps to catch the lead based bits that rained down, contaminating my mulch which now has to be removed. In addition to this litter, we are picking up a decent amount of metal, nails, and paper. Overall, it looks good... If you don't mind waiting and remulching in your hazmat suit

I must give credit where credit is due. Sorry to take so long to add my review as, I wanted to see how their work stood up over time. It's been 11 months and everything still looks great and holding up very well. I was impressed at their punctuality, work ethic and performance of the finished product.. Am gonna get another estimate from them to perhaps tuck-point more brick in a wall that borders our driveway. I highly recommend this crew !!!!

The chimney had cracks and crumbling bricks. The team from Bone Dry Masonry arrived on time on the appointed day. The area needing repair was removed and replaced with matching brick. All cracks in the chimney from the ground to the cap were filled. 15 courses of brick had to be replaced. The existing flue was reused as it was still in good shape. The existing chimney is part of an addition added to the house prior to 1983. A new crown of concrete was put on top with a new stainless steel cap. Water repellent will be applied in a few more weeks after some other unrelated work is completed and the chimney repairs have had time to cure. The work was performed efficiently. The new chimney bricks match so well that you can't really tell there has been any repair. The yard and area where the work took place was cleaned up properly. The team was friendly and anything that we discussed about what repairs were needed happened as contracted. I was able to get a thorough explanation of how the repair would occur, how long it would take and any other question that I asked. The work was completed as planned in a little less than 1.5 days. I highly recommend Bone Dry Masonry and would use them for any future work if the need arose.

We had a leak from the roof that was evaluated by Bone Dry Roofing. They determined that the problem was due to poor drainage in one corner of the house. They recommended placing an aggregate roofing material to stop the problem. After accepting contract a group of employees arrived one day and completed the work in about 4 hours. No problems so far but I will update if necessary.

We had our chimney cap replaced through Bone Dry. Joe was with us from start to finish, he came and gave us an estimate and thoroughly explained what we needed and why we needed it. The estimate was the most reasonable one we received. Communication was great throughout the entire process from ordering the work to be done through to completion. Installation went seamlessly and we are pleased with the outcome. Joe even offered to call us to check and make sure we are happy with install after the first rain. Would absolutely use again.

It was a pleasure to work with Jade. They did assign their guy to the job, but I had to call as he didn't return as he had stated. Jade did have them properly fix the issue, but the experience was a bit more of a hassle than expected for such a small job.

I knew my chimney needed to be rebuilt and my roof replaced and wanted to have both those jobs accomplished at the same time. Trying to coordinate with 2 companies was not something I wanted to try. I Called Bone Dry and was so pleased when I discovered both could be accomplished by them. That meant they would do all the coordinating, scheduling, inspecting, etc. and that I could attend to the things I needed to do in my busy day instead of having to piece meal the job to different contractors. The entire process was seamless and professional. My first introduction to the company was via phone. Could not have been more impressed with the woman who answered my call. I could tell she knew what she was talking about, Joe and Jade were on time to the appointment that had been scheduled, and both were very impressive,. They were knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and treated me with respect.I coordinate most of the big projects at our home and have not always found contractors receptive in working with women. This was not the case with Joe and Jade. . That very day I was provided 2 thorough reports related to the 2 jobs and decided to sign to have both completed.. They have completed both jobs, and I could not be happier. I will recommend this company to anyone and everyone, and will be using them in the future if and when I decide to have additional insulation added to my home. Yes, they do that too. Great company, great people and a great job!

The roof consulation was informative and professional. The prices seem to be on par with others. The roof tear down, installation and clean up was quick. It was installed well and looks nice. The gutter installation didn't go so well as they leaked which was why we had the gutters replaced. The people sent to fix the issue initially didn't fix it and the leaks remained. Finally another person came and resolved the issue. Once that issue was resolved I we were very happy with the job.

I found Bone Dry on Angie's List and contacted them because I saw a water spot in one of our upstairs bedrooms. The roofing guy was out the next day and found the problem. He even took pictures of everything on our roof to show us the issue. He immediately gave us an estimate and said it would be 7-10 business days for the repair. He also recommended replacing our chimney cap, and he passed on our information to their masonry guy. Within a couple of weeks, everything was repaired. After the roofing portion was completed, I checked outside and found that they had not replaced a piece of flashing I had asked about during the estimate. I called their office, and the roofing guy came out that afternoon to fix it. Overall, I found the people at Bone Dry to be extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. Sara in the office was very helpful, responding to emails quickly. Billing was very convenient - once everything was finished, Sara applied the coupons I found on Angie's List (saved me $125!) and emailed me an invoice with a link to pay it online (or I could have mailed a check). I definitely recommend Bone Dry to anyone needing roof or chimney work!

They were very professional. They were on time for estimates and for the work. Good at what they're doing. Everything they say they were going to do, they did. They are very courteous.

Came and did job early. Seems to be OK but has not rained. Told person I would like to keep antenna, but was gone when I got home. I called and was told the service person put it out front of house that day. Just a problem with communication.
