OnthewallTVinstall.com offers TV wall mounting & Home theater installs, our pricing is NOT the average pricing scale. We have re-designed the way TV wall mounting & Home theater installs are sold. In 2002 We separated from an exclusive contract with one the nations largest electronics stores just before they went out-of-business. We were responsible for fixing the mistakes made during the sales process & we had to do this on-site with no warning. This would happen on 3 out of 5 TV wall mount installs sold by the stores. We designed a way to solve all of the problems that were caused by the sales process. The problem was that the materials were more costly than the entire installation cost & the sales person would not always mention that to the customer. This means that when the installer arrives he has no materials to install for the customer, unless he has the materials on-the-truck to sell to the customer. Having the materials to sell the customer is nice, yet the customer most likely felt mis-led by the store after they were sold the install & now they have to pay more money. Normally the installation cost is comprised of labor & warranty fees. The majority of other companies do not include materials for installation like brackets or wires. They want you to supply them all or buy them from them at an extra fee for each item like HDMI wire, mounting bracket & elec. bridge. We are different as we include all the materials for the TV wall mount installation for the NO wires look. That is the difference!

Overall, I am very happy with the experience. Mike and his assistant did excellent work and the TV looks great over the fireplace. They installed the support structure properly, leveling and securing into existing studs in wall. He swapped out a bracket from his stock with mine to provide a closer, more integrated installation at no charge. The only area for improvement or of concern is communication around scheduling. Once they get to you, they are focused and driven to complete the project cleanly and professionally. A big challenge for smaller businesses is that they get too focused on the current project and might be two hours late to the next appointment. If you can deal with some "flexibility" around your appointment time, then you should be satisfied with the end result. I almost cancelled the appointment - I am glad I did not.

Mike responded quickly and even came to our home over a holiday weekend to help us. He figured out the wiring for our cable service after the installer told us they couldn't help. He then installed our tv, connected a blu-ray player and infra-red eye, while making sure the wiring was perfect. I will absolutely use him again if necessary and recommend him to my friends! The adjectives I can use for his service include responsive, punctual, friendly, professional and more. Mike knows what he's doing and makes it work.

Mike showed up on time (even though it had snowed 4 inches) and mounted our 60" TV above the fireplace. From start to finish it took about an hour. Everything looks great. Could not be happier.

Mike showed up at my house to mount my 60" TV on the wall. I told him exactly what I wanted and showed him the TV and the location I wanted the TV mounted. Mike went to his vehicle to get some tools and began his work. I usually do not sit and monitor the work being completed by people that I hire because I do like it when people hover over me. Mike completed the mounting of the TV in about an hour. The finished product looked good on the surface. However, it is what I discovered under the surface that was the problem. I was changing the color of my living room and needed to remove the TV from the wall to paint behind it. I found that my 60? TV was hanging on the wall using a very flimsy piece aluminum. I am amazed that the TV even stayed on the wall long enough for him to leave my house. The next thing that I discovered is that an extension cord was used to run the power behind the wall for the TV. I did some research and found out that using this type of extension cord behind a wall is not allowed and would void my homeowner?s insurance policy. The holes Mike put in the wall to run the cables looked like a hammer was used to just knock out a couple holes. I paid Mike a good sum of money to mount my TV on the wall. I expected a proper mounting kit and cabling for the power. I spoke with Mike on the phone when I setup the installation and told him exactly what I had at my house. Mike did not tell me that the ?basic mounting? of a TV would include such cheap materials. I ended up having to remove all the work that Mike did and complete the mounting of the TV myself. I purchased the mounting kit I expected to have used along with the proper in wall power solution for the TV. I should not have had to redo work that I paid a ?professional? installer to do. I have documented everything noted in this review with pictures. I do not expect a full refund as Mike did come out and do work at my house. However, the work was not up the the quality I would have expected and I think at 75% refund is reasonable. I ended up having to pay another $125.00 for the proper materials to safely mount my TV.

All customers have to do is call in to report if there is a problem, concern or misunderstanding. This customers install includes a LIFETIME warranty & he never called or emailed or text me at all. The warranty covers all the issues he complained about. Refunds can only be given to customers who request the repair or refund of the service or product before the service or product is removed, replaced or re-installed especially by themselves or another company. This customer did not properly communicate his issue with the company that completed the work. If he doesn't like the wall mount bracket he must call to ask for replace or etc. before the customer removes the fixed product. If the customer doesn't like the way holes are drilled, then the customer must call for repair before the customer has more work done by themselves or another company. I would have gladly addressed all concerns for FREE. If the customer would have even tried to contact me, we would have replaced the mount, verified the wiring & rectified the situation. It is not fair to make the conviction with-out any chance given to the accused. This customer could be making all this up. It is possible that the customer is confused about what is typically included with such installations. I offer flat rate fees with no perimeters on time as well as materials for installation included. The install includes the materials for mounting properly as well as wires for connection. The install includes your choice of tilting or flat mounts, This customer chose the flat mount. If the customer does not like the mounts or materials we can change to different materials if requested. A REQUEST WAS NEVER MADE! In regards to the completed installation, we did install the bracket & the job was done as standard installs are always done. The wall mount bracket we used was for flat ultraslim look. We use these brackets often & have never had a problem with the installs or stability. We offer a lifetime warranty with the install to cover damages if it fails anyway so there wouldn't be any concerns.The bracket is flimsy when it is not installed & applied properly or not on wall, in your hand it feels like not much, yet they are good mounts. MOST, of the mounts available at store are cheaper one rail mounts as well. I have installed hundreds of these mounts for customers who purchased the mount themselves from department stores. The customer has complained about the wires & the wall mount as well as the holes drilled into the wall. The customer stated that it looked like a hammer was used to drill the holes. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I always use a drywall saw or hole saw to drill any hoes in drywall. My tool kit doesn't have a hammer. I'm an AUDIO/VIDEO installer I DO NOT use or swing hammers AT ALL. Furthermore, he inspected the TV install before we billed him. All he had to do was call me if he had problems after he discovered them, he has never called or requested a refund or repair, he only left this bad review. I have had more than one customer from ANGIESLIST strong arm me into giving them a refund for perfectly good work by deciding to write a bad review & complaint so that I have to pay them to have the review removed & corrected ( that is the way Angieslist sets the rules, if I pay them money the issue goes away, I DISAGREE with that rule, I think that some customer will learn that all they have to do is complain & they can get a refund of the amount that they desire.).I think that this customer just wants his money back for what he doesn't understand to be good work & or materials. His expectations are outside of reality. Morally, he should have at least called, he did not even contact me through angieslist.com. Besides, read more of my reviews. I have a history of replacing the materials at customer request if the customers do not like them. I will find a product that they do like & return for replacement. If he would have told me that he did not like the mount, holes & wires then I would have replaced the mount, wires & repaired "hammer drilled" hoes. ( again I drill all holes with a hole saw or dry-wall saw ).

Arrived 2 hrs late. Installed the TV's but after he was done, he said he had the wrong sound bar and would be back a 4 the next day. I call him at 6pm and got a recording, call me back at 6:30 and said he was finishing a job and could be over in a shot time. I told him not to bother and to return my money for the sound bar. He said no problem. It's now over a month and have not received my money. I also have to have some of his work redone due to inferior equipment he installed and shoddy labor.

arrived at this customer's location on time on our original installation date we had him set up for an 11 to 1 I arrived in that time frame. I was never late the customer did call about a month before the installation was actually scheduled to be completed and asked me if I could arrive at 10 o'clock I told that person that I may be able to do that depending on how quickly I can get out of the first job I never guaranteed an early arrival. furthermore I did complete the customers installation I had a sound bar in my possession to install for this customer however they asked for an additional subwoofer so I had to get a sound bar that had the ability to add a wireless subwoofer which I had in stock at my office. I made one phone call right in front of the customer to verify that the item was in stock in my office I notify the customer that I could be at his location the next day at the end of my route which would be after 5:30pm. he told me that he had to work the next day and that would be no problem at all and he had taken the entire day off to complete this installation so he needed to go to work because of the fact that he had been off all day. I told him that would not be any problem at all that I could be there after he got off of work he was surprised that we were able to arrive after work hours. he was very thankful that I could come the next day I offered to not charge him for the sound bar because we were not installing it today I only charge him for the installation that we completed on that day of three TVs mounted on the wall all three TVs were included all materials and all wires were concealed inside wire cover. during the final conversation the customer demanded that he go ahead and pay for the soundbar and the entire installation with one check all at once. we talked cordially he made a couple jokes about me already having his money so now I have to come back. finally I accepted his check and gave him a receipt , told him I would see him the next day. here we are on the next day and I am on my last installation when I go out to my phone which is in my truck on the charger as it is the end of the day I have taken many calls and my phone needs to charge. I noticed I had received a call from a customer I return the call immediately.I called the customer at 5:25 to let him know that I just missed his call and that I would be heading to his installation shortly. it was at that point when the customer totally flipped and told me that I was supposed to be there at 4 o'clock and that he had left work early to meet me at that point and notified me that I was responsible for the money that he did not make while he was not at work today. a customer was not willing to discuss any options in any way of me completing the installation he just wanted his money back and he wanted it now. a customer paid with an out of state check which was written in an amount over $1000. he was not able to be refunded his money until his check cleared his bank account and I had verification. I let him know that I would send him his refund as soon as possible. I sent him a money order three weeks after he requested the refund. he called me and asked me where his refund was I notify him that I had to wait for that verification and I have sent it to the address that he gave me. I have not heard from him since that conversation so I have assumed that he has gotten his refund he has not answered any of my calls. also the customer tried to indicate that all three of the TVs that I mounted needed to be reinstalled when the reality of the installation is that all I did was mount three TVs to the studs and install a piece of wire cover like a sticker on the wall with a level to make sure it is straight there is not much to get wrong and I have been installing for over 18 years now TVs on the wall I have never seen or been reported to have completed a faulty TV on wall installation. a piece of wire cover is a simple process to apply to the wall however I did not invent the technology all I do is install the available technology this customer did not want his wires hidden inside the wall that he did not want to damage the walls in any way so he requested that we install all the wires inside a wire cover which is a plastic strip that is installed onto the wall limiting damage to the wall. this trip is placed on with existing adhesive all you have to do is Peel off the protective film level it and stick it on.. At this point the customer has asked me to refund his entire installation fee and he does not want me to come back or ever hear from me again. I notified him that if he had called me and asked me to repair any issues that I would have came out and fix them if I could not fix them or a forever reason the problems persisted then he would be due a refund however he never called to ask me to fix anything he just wants a refund and he doesn't want me to come out to try to fix it he just wants the refund. that's not how business works if he wants something fixed that he paid to have installed and he must call the company and ask them to fix it he cannot just ask for a refund without giving the company an opportunity to replace or repair the issue. this customer with an extremely nice customer for over a month that I dealt with him his representative and his wife. this customer with a very nice customer on the day of the installation everything was fine and I with his best friend during the installation during the price estimate. and for some strange reason the day after his installation when I was supposed to come back to install his sound bar he totally flipped. I did everything professionally possible to try to make this customer happy I came back the next day I told him I would be there after he got off of work I did not offer any additional charges for having to come back the next day with additional equipment. I do not know why this customer freakishly changed his mind however in my trials dealing with this man I have determined that there are still customers that I will never be able to satisfy.

Mike arrived at our scheduled time, I walked him thru the house letting him know what I was looking to have completed. We had hired a contractor to remodel the house needless to say he was not very good and we terminated his service. He left 4 TV mounts in various stages of completion as well has took the hardware needed to hang TVs. Mike and his partner were very professional prior to beginning the job he told me his fee per TV then proceeded to give me a discount due to the number of TVs I was having installed. Mike and his partner completed the job, cleaned up after themselves and walked me thru each room showing me the completed job. They were very professional, on time, answered my questions, and put my TV up there, so it was very good. They made an appointment, and they came all the way from Cincinnati which is almost 75 miles away, but they were still on time. The cost included the wires and everything.

He called me the very next day and when I described the work I needed to have done (which was simply hiding some wires and organizing as we already had the tv hung) he said the Big Deal was really more work and expense than we needed. He will be doing the work for us and saving us a quite a bit of money as we are now getting a refund for the Big Deal.

Mike was very professional and did an excellent job mounting our 50 inch tv above our fireplace. He used wire covers instead of putting the wires into the wall because of the studs. I was very nervous of what it would look like, but you can not even tell that wire covers were used. Our fireplace is white and the wirecovers simply look like molding and blend in perfectly. He was able to finish the job in about an hour and 30 minutes. We liked his work so much that he is coming back this evening to mount our tv in our bedroom as well!

It went great. He had some really good suggestions on proper angles and we're bringing him back to install a rotating bracket to improve the view of one of the televisions. Mike also explained to us how we are now eligible for a $50 discount on any future service. All in all, he was very professional, knowledgeable, and nice.

Mike and team were great. Very professional and clean service. They hung tv in my master bedroom concealing all wires behind the wall. Very courteous not to cause any damage to my walls and baseboard. I had to upgrade my package to get longer cables since I wanted to conceal my electronics in a cabinet far from the tv. Vacuumed when the job was done. Bedroom looks great. They also consulted me on another project in my family room to have a tv hung on a plaster wall over my fireplace. I was told by another company that it would be a complex job, but Mike assured me that he could do the job no problem. Will definitely use Mike and company in the future and they receive my highest recommendation. Thanks guys!

He was very prompt and polite and worked with me on getting the exact location. What I didn't expect were unworkmanlike holes cut into my new and freshly painted walls. Behind a bedroom dresser is just a hole about 12" above the molding with no box or even a cover over the 1 - 1.5" hole. This is extremely poor workmanship. Behind a buffet in the other room, again just a hole was made in the wall with a plate cover, but there remains a hole about 1.5" in diameter open into the wall. Behind the TV with the new wall mount, there is a box with a plug but damage outside of the box was done to the plaster. As they hung the TVs and put the furniture back in place, I didn't see these things until after they left and bill was paid. The price of $200 for the bedroom TV for which I had the wall mount was excessive as all that was done was hang the TV, cut two holes in the drywall and simply drop a cord through. Keep in mind that the business owner offers a $50 discount on future services if you write a good review on Angie's List.

I have installed over 7000 TVs, in that time I have discovered that NOT ALL customers can be satisfied.I have said this before & i will have to say it again : As a professional installer is is my job to provide satisfactory service & communication skills. I will NOT be successful in all of my attempts to do so. However I will continue to try after every failure. That is my attempt to show my dedication to my customers. Some people use Angie'slist to find good installers. Some people use Angie'slist to satisfy their need to be dishonest, rude & down right mean. This customer was very nice during the entire installation. I completed the install in a very professional manner. I did place the wall plates on the wall to cover the holes. The wall plates are the standard wall plate for the installation and the customer never mentioned the wall plates as having been out of satisfactory. I would have suggested other plates if the customer wishes to have them. Also the plates have been used on over 7000 other TV wall mount installs over the years & also are the same wall plates that ever other company uses. The wall plates as mentioned by the customer are placed on the wall to cover the 1.5 inch hole cut to run wires through (that is how the job is done), the wall plated are not visible at any time unless the dresser or furniture is removed then the wall plates can be seen. I have never had a single customer before complain about the wall plates. This customer is being very dishonest about their experience. If the problem was as bad as the customer has implied then, one would have expected a call to replace the plates, yet the customer has not called, emailed or replied to any of my attempts to contact them. As far as damages to the wall, THAT IS A LIE!.. NO damages were incurred to the wall or installation. I have images of the entire installation & there is no damage to any wall outside of the holes cut in the wall to run the wires through. In regards to the 2nd TV for $200. I did charge the customer $200 for installation of a TV on-wall with all the wires concealed in-the-wall & 2 HDMI wires included in the price as well because the customer did not have the right wires in their possession. The normal price for such installation is listed directly on my web-site as $249.00 with NO materials included. I gave the customer a $50 discount for having a second TV installed at the same time as the 1st TV. Upon realizing the customer did not have the right materials. I notified the customer of the charges for the wires & the customer denied the charges & asked for the wires to be included for FREE. I explained the situation to the customer & then eventually ended the conversation by agreeing to give away the HDMI wires for FREE. I do offer a $50 discount for an HONEST testimonial, and that is what i told this customer. Is IRONIC though as I explained to this customer so that there was no confusion in regards to paying for good testimonials & this customer use the entire conversation about the testimonial against me in their testimonial, i mentioned a job i had before.. I tell that to every customer i get in an attempt to get a testimonial at all. Angie'slist Customer do not always leave a testimonial at all. The service went really well. He was very responsive and came right out. I purchased another install with him that he did a week later. Both installations were great. He was prompt, professional and cleaned up after himself. I was very happy with the work.

So the appointment was schedules and set up for 1/16 for an 11:00 am appointment. By 11:45 they haven't arrived or called, so I gave them a call to see when they would be arriving, so I could plan my day accordingly (since I did take the day off work to have this installation performed). There was no answer and I went into voicemail. So I left a message. I received a call back about 1:15 with a apology from Mike and he stated that he was having driving issues due to the weather but he would be there when he could later that day. So I waited. About 7:15. I texted him asking if he was still planning to come for the install. Heard nothing. So the next morning at about 10:00 am, I received a text stating that he was sorry, but the prior night he just went home after he got through the weather on the highway (he couldn't call his customer once he got home to let them know he would not be coming??). He also stated that he was trying to figure out his route for the day and he would be calling shortly to schedule a new time on the 1/17th. So I waited again all day on the 17th and never heard from him .... and he has never called back to reschedule or to apologize for waisting 2 days of my time. I understand things happen, but not communicating, miscommunication and just a not showing up is unacceptable. Needless to say I hired another company that I would highly recommend... they were punctual and professional!!
Description of Work: I had used OntheWallinstall over a year ago and had decent service. So naturally when I needed to have another TV and surround sound installed, I called them up again. But, he never showed this appointment.

you can't satisfy everyone and I will not succeed in every attempt to satisfy all my customers I will fail and each failure will allow me to continue as I will strive to satisfy again with what I learned from my failures. However not every customer can be satisfied. in regards to the 11 o'clock appointment I do not have any appointment that are at exact times I only offer time frames for arrival her appointment was for me to be arriving at anytime between 11 a.m. And 1 p.m. this customer is telling mostly the truth in regards to how the events took place however I did inform her that my schedule in the next following days with full and I would be playing catch up due to all the snow and I would not be able to contact her with a new reschedule appointment for at least 2 to 3 days that my best attempt would be to try to squeeze her in in between jobsI did not call her until I found an opening for her by the time I found an opening for her she had already hired another company and decided she wasn't going to be answering my calls. in regards to being late I was late due to the weather however some circumstances are Unforeseen. I have completed many installs during the bad weather however her location was over 2 hours of driving from my main office and was an hour and a half away from the install I was on on the day of her original installation appointment. as I have said before some people have extremely unreasonable expectations and cannot be made happy. furthermore the price that I offered this customer had to be discounted more than a few times before this customer was agreeable to having the TV installed. my prices are extremely low by comparison to market value prices and this customer has rated my price is unfairly. some people unfortunately use opportunities to leave reviews as an opportunity do vent out and manipulate the situation to their advantage in an attempt rectify the fact that I would not install for the price that she requested. I will not succeed in my attempts to satisfy every customer however each time I fail I will continue to try and use every failure as an opportunity to reach for the future. I do miss appointments due to the weather however I do the best I can to communicate with my customers to let them know if I will not be there during their time frame. it is also very common for appointments in regards to installations to be missed or late on arrival especially when dealing with your local cable company or service providers. on my route daily I encounter cable technicians telephone technicians and service provider technicians that are not on time or never even show up with a phone call or any notification that they will not arrive. these are multi million dollar corporate companies and even they with all of their trucks and technicians running cannot show up on time or even call. I might have missed in my entire career as a professional installer running my own business a handful of appointments and most have been due to weather or due to complications on prior installs. by far my track record for arrival and on time arrival is far closer to 100 percent in comparison to any multi million dollar professional corporate company. as I said before I will not be able to satisfy every customer but I will continue to try and I do apologize to this customer for not being able to arrive on time.

Mike and his team were awesome! They were quick, professional, and the price was right. They went above and beyond and connected everything to my new receiver (TV, DVD player) without me even asking! Wow; I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They made a tough job (mounting a large TV on stone) look super easy. Mike is also quick to return phone calls. That was very much appreciated.
Description of Work: Mounted my 55" TV on a stone fireplace. The tilted mount was included with the install.

They arrived exactly as promised. Helped me decide where the TV would be best for viewing by the most people. Only took them 1 1/2 hours and when they left everything worked the Direct was hooked up and all was good. They even cleaned up their mess!! They were great.

A++++ AWESOME! I requested an estimate from Mr. Boyd through his website. Within 2 hours he returned my call and answered all of my questions about installing a television above our fireplace. I asked if I could please get on his installation schedule. He immediately placed me on his schedule and arrived promptly when promised. I live 80+ miles away from Mr. Boyd's business and he came through some snowy weather to be here as promised. He was courteous, professional, careful, cleaned up (!), patient with my questions, and told me to call him if I ever had any questions about our equipment. He was so helpful! I was very happy with Mr. Boyd's professionalism and services. I will definitely call him again and I will recommend him to friends and family. I even asked for extra business cards! **PS: I have to chime in - I read the previous disgruntled review and I don't give it any credibility, because Mr. Boyd went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the scheduling and with the services he provided.

I first contacted Onwalltv.com on 19th November. I informed him of my need to swap an old Epson projector with a new Epson projector. He informed me the charge would be $79 which I accepted. He said he was on a job currently and will call me back with a time. Then in the evening I went to his website and put in all the details including the model number of my current proujector, model number of the new projector, model number of the Epson universal ceiling mount. I put in all the contact numbers. This was done so that he would not forget about it. Then I called him on 11/20 again to determine if he could provide me a date and time of the install. I was informed that once he heads to the office, he can look at the schedule and call me back with the date. I have not heard back from him after that and nor did I contact him after that. Looking at other reviews I know the installer will come up with excuses like how he is a small business owner etc etc. I have dealt with numerous small business owners. The professional ones are upfront. If they are not able to do the work or consider the work too small then they let the customer know upfront. I would not be writing this review if he would have the courtesy to tell me that he would not be able to perform this work for whatever reason. Update 27th November, 2013:- After this review appeared, I got a call from the installer this morning. He apologized for the oversight. He took full responsibility. He offered to perform a free install. I informed him that the projector was already installed and I had no need for his service currently. Then he offered me a credit of the amount of $100/= that I had paid to another installer. I informed him that a credit was not needed and I want all small business owners to succeed. All that was required was for him to let me know that he is busy and the install might be delayed considering the fact that I had contacted him through email and several phone calls. Just on the basis of the call I received from the installer after the review appeared and his effort to help rectify the situation, I am upgrading my review to C from F. Please note that this upgrade is just based on the phone call and I have not used the installer's services or obtained any credit.
