The service is working out very well. Initially I was frustrated because I had a hard time getting them to call me back; I followed the instructions online and left messages. The cost was $150 for four hours, the first hour was consultation and three hours of actual work. I think they're fair in their charges for what they're doing. I'm quite satisfied. Melissa, the woman that does the work for me, sometimes she's hard to get a hold of but she does good work when she's here. I definitely would recommend, she's efficient that she can do a lot of things. The responsiveness was an issue that I almost cancel the whole service. I've had another incident where I tried to contact Melissa and she didn't respond to me for several days and then I contacted her again and she got back to me. That is an issue they can improve on.
Description of Work: I use Confusion Solution. I used the initial package and I'm continuing to employ them on an on going basis. I'm very happy with them. I usually get her for two hours at a time, there were charges for that but I would consider them quite reasonable. The initial package was just exactly as advertised.

Daryl did a great job organizing our garage, which was a real mess of piled-up boxes and clutter before she showed up. We're amazed at how big a change she was able to affect. | |The first day, she showed up by herself and I had to spend a few hours helping, as there were some large items that needed to be moved around. When she came back the following week, she brought some muscle with her to help. Probably, it was a little optimistic/naive for her to have shown up the first day by herself without having seen the garage first. But in the end, she and her helper were able to turn our garage into a space that we can actually use and enjoy, and that's something we weren't sure would ever be possible. So I am pretty impressed, and would definitely use her services again.

I see other AL members had the same experience. We pay AL an annual fee to ensure that we are not taken advantage of by companies like this, and so that we don't have to waste our time trying to get refunds due to the unlawful termination of contracts. AL should remove this vendor from their list.
Description of Work: I bought a house cleaning service and the ad said it covered the west side. First they contacted me and said they were too busy and would schedule me in 4 weeks. Fair enough. Then they contacted me again, cancelled the contract, and said I was out of their area, but I live in Culver City which is the west side. To add insult to injury, they told me would have to figure out how to get my own refund from AL

I contacted them to schedule the service. I had to call again to schedule the service and the office woman said that they do not serve my area. I was a bit disappointed that she did not mention that on the first call. I got a refund for the job and went with another provider.

I was disabled by significant injuries about five years ago and was unable to keep my affairs in order. The house became very disorganized with paper clutter, despite my best efforts. Darryl Ashley was great to work with and really fabulous. It was well worth it and I felt like I got a great deal. Scheduling was fine and she was very accessible to get a hold of; she was even early for the appointment. I was very satisfied with results and felt like she really made a dent in the work.

I bought the coupon and waited to be contacted. It took a few days for them to email me at all. We then played phone tag on and off for a few weeks and to no avail with a date for the service. I would rather just retry with someone else.

My appointment with Confusion Solutions was Tuesday Nov. 12th 2013 at 10:00am, They called and asked if they could come Wednesday Nov. 13th at 10:00am. I was out in the morning, and I was back at home by 9:45am. There was a message on my answer machine of which I nor my husband could completely understand. The number left for a return call was not a good phone number when my husband called. My husband called Angie's list for the provider number. He called but got a voice mail. I called later and talked with someone. She told me that her lady was there. However, she didn't seem to have all the facts correctly. I believe I was lied to about when someone was at my house. I was home by 9:45am thru the remainder of the day. She said she could refund my money.

I am so sorry that this client was dissatisfied. The client did agree to postponement of his original schedule. We arrived at his home 15 minutes early knocked but no answer. We called and left a message on his phone explaining that we were waiting outside. We waited for 20 minutes before leaving. We offered to complete the job but deferred to a refund.

Melissa showed up promptly at 9am and didn't stop until our two-car garage looked amazing four hours later. She started by asking how we wanted use the garage and what we wanted it to look like. The next step was to move everything out of the garage, sorting as we went. We divided everything into a trash pile, a keep pile, and a garage sale pile. Finally, we moved everything we were going to keep or sell back into the garage. We started with a garage that had boxes covering so much of the floor that our garage was totally useless, and we ended with a garage that had everything nicely organized against the walls, and the center of our garage is completely empty. Melissa also recommended ideas for how we could reuse our existing shelves and baskets so that we could minimize how much extra shelves and bins we would need to buy to organize our garage. She also had ideas on how to dispose of all the trash it turns out we've been storing in our garage for two years. We were extremely happy with Melissa and Confusion Solution. We've been living with a useless garage for two years, and in four hours, Melissa transformed it into a useful space.

The service was not what I expected, instead of someone coming to 'clean my house' it was 3 hours of 'house cleaning'. I expected someone to 'know what to do' but instead they wanted me to tell them what to do. What I wanted to say was "I want you to clean my house" but instead I had to think of things that needed to be done. The young man was very personable and professional and I can see value in having someone come for a # of hours if I had been prepared with a list of big jobs for which I needed help. It just wasn't quite what I expected.

Daryl is awesome to work with and she was a tremendous help in addressing my clutter problem. I purchased a Big Deal on Angie's List for 4 hours of organizing. She came the first day to assess the situation and understand my needs and objectives and we booked the subsequent appointment to work on my garage and office. She brought a helper to clean and re-organize the garage and it was the first time I'd seen the floor on the perimeter of the garage in years! It was so effortless since I did not have to be there when she was organizing the garage and I came home and it was all done. I was amazed when I opened the garage and everything was neatly stored and organized by similar category. She followed up with a report of what was completed and her recommendations which exceeded my expectations and was very professional. Then on to the office, which I had not seen the entire floor of the office in seven years. We worked together to review what I viewed was important and what could be tossed. She provided recommendations on what type of storage that I need to buy to make the space more organized and accessible. I am so happy that I can see the entire floor of my office without piles of stuff cluttered all over the place. I cannot say the great feeling you have when you no longer have clutter sitting around. Stop putting off the mess and hire Daryl to get it done! I've been so impressed by her services she is coming back to help organize my living room bookcases and help to improve the look of my living room. I also plan to use her as a personal assistant for tasks that I never seem to have the time to get done. I would recommend Daryl to anyone and she is awesome!

Please note that the deal was $65 for three hours. The cost I listed above included parking for the technician and a tip. Scheduling and communication: It was difficult to get this job scheduled. On the appointed day I got a call two and a half hours before the appointment time from the cleaning tech asking if he could come over right away - he had finished another job early and otherwise would have had to sit around doing nothing until the appointment time. That was not possible for me, so I offered him the option of having his dispatcher reschedule for a different day. I know what it's like to provide in-home services so I was sympathetic to the predicament. I communicated with the dispatcher via the Angie's List message center and was asked if the following Tuesday or Wednesday would work, and I answered that Wednesday would be ideal. The dispatcher wrote back and asked if I had a preference for time. I replied with my preference, but that it was only a mild preference. The dispatcher replied that I was scheduled for Tuesday (I'm not sure why I wasn't given a time on Wednesday when I had indicated that I preferred Wednesday, or why I was asked what my preference was if it didn't matter. At that point I just wanted to get it done, so I accepted. My appointment was for 9am. Punctuality: The tech called at 9:25 and inquired about the parking. Apparently the dispatcher did not give the tech the information I had sent. The tech parked on the street and came up to get money for the parking lot across the street (I had told the dispatcher via Angie's List Message that I would reimburse for parking, which was in a $6 flat rate lot). By the time the tech moved his vehicle and came back up it was 9:45. The work: I told the technician my priorities - bathrooms, floors, dusting, stove. Bathrooms: He did a decent job with the bathrooms except as noted in "Floors" below. Floors: He damp-mopped the laminate floors. There were wedges of dirt and debris left around the perimeter of the mopped area where the mop had pushed the dirt away. I had to point them out and asked him to take care of them. He cleaned up the ones I pointed out, but not other ones I discovered later. He did not vacuum or offer to vacuum the small rug in the living area. He completely missed one 10' x 10' area of the apartment (it's a loft, essentially one continuous space with a bathroom at each end). In one bathroom there was a dustpan sitting on the floor. He did not move the dustpan to clean under it, he just mopped around it. Dusting: He dusted only the easiest-to-reach parts of surfaces. He didn't dust between objects, let alone move any objects to dust more thoroughly. Stove: The stove was adequately cleaned, but in cleaning it he disturbed the flame guard over one of the burners. I didn't notice right away. When I went to use that burner that evening it would not light with the electronic igniter, and when I lit it with a barbecue lighter the flame was coming out everywhere and was largely uncontrolled. On the other side of the stove the burner grate was improperly replaced after cleaning and when I used it it slid down off its normal mounting place. In both cases I had to wait for the stove to cool down before I could correct these problems. Overall: He stayed for a little over two hours (the deal was for three hours). He told me he was finished with everything I had listed. I checked the work and discovered the dirt wedges from the mopping, which he partially corrected as I mentioned above. By that point I realized that if I gave him more to do I would be required to supervise closely. I decided to cut my losses and let him go. If I were providing such services and there was time left I wouldn't just ask to go - I'd do more. Like maybe wipe the kitchen faucets, do a better job dusting, anything to give the customer at least the value for the money. I can say this because I have done service jobs in clients' homes and that's exactly what I did, and if there wasn't enough to do I only charged them for the time I was there. The tech showed no real initiative and there was no attention to detail. Summary: It was difficult to schedule, the technician was late, the dispatcher didn't give the tech important information I had provided which made him even later, the quality of work was low and resulted in a situation that could have become dangerous (the displaced flame guard on the stove). If I had realized that getting quality work was going to require close supervision and point-by-point management I would have just hired a general laborer from Cragslist and managed them to the level required. I ended up spending my own time getting the place as clean as I thought I should have reasonably expected from a professional housecleaning service. I was very disappointed in all aspects of the transaction, and I will not be using this company again.
