Overall things were great. When I called the owner was out the next day for an estimate on a weekend ( I work) so that was great. Other companies were not so flexible. I received my estimate and questioned the extra expense for carpet removal. I was originally told it was part of the overall expense but I was later told that the expense was to have the carpet removed. My city picks up carpet at no expense so he adjusted my price. I had them roll two carpets to my bedrooms and they did a great job. I wanted them to remove the carpet on Tuesday since they would sand on Wednesday and Thursday. They were staining on Thursday, and poly on Friday and Saturday. I have three animals at the kennel and I wanted to be back in my bedroom by Sunday evening...so timing was very important. We had some confusion about the last poly, they were going to come on Monday but they changed to Saturday like I had requested. They showed up on Saturday for the final coat and trim and finished everything on schedule.

I called on a Friday and they were able to come out and give an estimate on Saturday, and start work on Tuesday (I was moving into a new home and only discovered issues with the floor after the previous owners had moved out.) Dale, the worker doing the floors, called or left notes about any questions or concerns that came up (e.g., making sure the finish color was what I wanted.) The floors came out very nicely, though at first the toe molding didn't match the floors, and a number of nail holes were left unfilled, but this was fixed the same day that I called them about the issue (the day after they had finished work)-- I'd already paid for the work, so I was a little worried about whether there'd be any problem getting them to resolve these issues, but they made sure it happened immediately.

We were contacted promptly and someone came out to give us an estimate promptly. They offered to start work the next week after we accepted the contract. The workers were 30 minutes later than they said arriving and had to leave early that day due to a committment at another work sight, which then pushed the project back a day. The color match is not exact (just a shade lighter than the adjacent hallway), but it is not very noticable unless it is pointed out. The floors had gouges in them from some past event before we moved in, and the gouges did not sand out, which is understandable, but we would have appreciated knowing that that was going to be the case. All in all, the floors look good even to perfectionists.

They arrived on time, did the work well and even included removal of carpeting (which I did not know was included when I awarded the the job.

They did an excellent job. We had pretty good floors to begin with, so their job wasn't terribly difficult, but they did a lot of area for not a lot of cost. They were significantly cheaper than other estimates. We booked the job with them and they were at our place the following week to tear out the carpets. The week after that they did the floors and we were done. It was fast and well-done. All around great job.

It went very good. They were poliete, they kept their mess to a minumum. They did a pretty god job fixing up the floorboards for the molding. We would use them again and have even recommended them.

Over the course of 3 mornings they sanded, stained and applied 2 coats of urethane.

I had called several people, but they were the quickest to respond. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again. They definitely know what they are doing.

Bobby was the only contractor who really listened to me and wanted to view the subfloor from the basement since I was worried about it's integrity. The workers were very concerned with their work and wanted to ensure that we were happy with the result. They did an excellent job matching the wood and stain with the adjoining room. They gave us some advice about protecting the wood floor by insulating underneath.

Their estimator was able to meet me with in two days of my first call to Lovell's. I was provided an estimate with in 24 hours. Lovell was able to start the work on the specific day that I wanted, which was approximately 3 weeks after the estimate. We were remodeling our kitchen. Timing was important to me as I was fitting floor refinishing in between demo and cabinet installation. The crew arrived promptly on the morning they were scheduled to begin. They took their time showing my samples of what several different stains would look like on my floor. They took care to contain as much dust as possible in the rooms that were being refinished. The total job was completed with in 3 days. The floors look like new. We are very pleased and would use Lovell again.

They were punctual and great to work with - very clean and respectful and the floors came out wonderful. They did some patch work as well on a part of one room. I would highly recommend them to anyone interested and will use them in the future if need be.

When we do decide to refinish our floors, we will definitely us Lovell's.

I found Lovell's Hardwood on Angie's List, after having the company that completed hardwood installation at a friend's home come and give an estimate. Lovell's gave an estimate that was approx. $3000 less than the other company. After asking for references and talking to many of them we decided on Lovell's. They installed hardwood in my family room, dinning room (with border) and back stairs. They had to sand approx. 3 layers down on the existing hardwood to get the bevel out, which when we built the house was told by the builder that it would prevent scratches. What they didn't tell me was that dirt collects in the grooves and is impossible to get out. My family and I gave them the keys and left the house. I was amazed when I returned. They were able to match my floors completely. It looks like they were all installed at the same time. I can't wait to be able to get started on the next area. Paul, who sanded and stained, is wonderful.

Bobby came out on a Wednesday to give me an estimate, the work was scheduled to begin on Saturday. A large damaged area in the dining room was discovered on Thursday and Bobby was back to tell me how much it would cost to repair/replace the section of floor and had a technician there on Friday to complete that work so that the project would begin as scheduled on Saturday. I'm very happy with the end result and was pleasantly surprised by how much of the dust was contained. They did a very good job.

Responded quickly to my phone call and request for estimate. Worked performed in accordance with my schedule. Made followup visit and provided advice and products for maintenance. Price included a Angie's List discount, and price was significantly better than competitive bids.

Bobby from Lovell's came and and estimated the job. He offered to get started right away, and their price was competitive. I decided to let them have at it. They started a couple of days later and were finished in about 5 days. The floors look great and they did a good job in cleaning up the mess that we had got into with an amateur. The owner, Al, came out to do the final walk through and pick up the payment (they didn't require a down payment to start the job). He was a nice guy and left some floor cleaning supplies that would not cause damage to the finish. Overall this was a good experience and they did a professional job.

My experience with this company was excellent. The quality of service was great. They cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend them and use them again.

Al came out to for the initial visit. At this time we discussed the possible options; refinish, replace over top, replace after tear out, buy pre-finished or non-pre-finished and they would stain/seal, and adding accent designs. His professionalism, experience and information was very helpful with making the decisions of which way to go. He took measurements and within a couple days emailed the estimates for the options requested. Due to other personal considerations we had to go another direction. If we had used a Hardware Vendor it would have been Lovell.

Bobby came out to the house just a day after we called him and gave us an estimate. He explained that no charges would be incurred until the job was completed to our satisfaction. He was extremely professional and even supplied us with an entire portfolio of past jobs including phone numbers to the past customers who were more than willing to give him a great reference. This all happened on Saturday, we were supplied with a written quote on Sunday and the sanding team showed up Monday morning to sand our floors. The workers were very polite, on-time and diligent. They explained to us exactly what they were doing, how long each process would take and when they would be complete. All phases of the project went as smooth as possible, they completed in a timely fashion and left signs on our door instructing us when we could walk on the floors and how to properly take care of them when they were dry. Bobby came back out to the house for a final walk through on day 5 after they were completely dry and we were more than willing to pay him. The team had done a great job, cleaned the job site thoroughly was very respectful to us and our property. They color matched our old floors to our new floors and they were a perfect match. I would use these guys again and again as they are very professional and very good at what they do.

The representative is very responsive to meet me at the property. He seems have very good knowledge about the hardwood floor finish. The work is very experienced and hard worker. He did a great job. The floor looked beautiful.

I got their phone number from a highly respected & recommended builder in the Northern Kentucky area. We had already been given 6 estimates form 6 other companies in the area prior to this. All companies were very expensive & were simply too high for our budget. We were doing the job on a tight budget & the contractor said he knows a great company he could refer me to that does custom work at more than reasonable rates. They have been in the hardwood floor business for a long time & are truly some of the best floor mechanics around the area. From small jobs to huge jobs & the most basic layouts to the most custom layouts. We decided to give them a call & set-up an estimate. The estimator was very polite, respectful, helpful, full of knowledge, very well groomed & presentable. He walked the job with us, gave us ideas, & covered every question we had clearly, entirely, & honestly. He also came prepared with many references (accompanied by pictures both before & after) of homeowners & builders that they have worked with that were available upon request to speak to. Also when asked, the estimator had proof of all liability insurance & workers compensation information on hand. The next day we received the estimate via email & the very next day received the paper copy followed by a follow up phone call to go over the estimate. The price was very reasonable, in fact was 20% less than the cheapest of the other 6 companies. At this point I was more than happy with them so far and decided to go with them as appose to the other companies. We wanted on schedule asap and the scheduler there made it happen for us. They ordered our materials and started 4 days later. The mechanics were very neat in appearance, were at the job on time every day, came prepared to work, and the job stayed right on schedule as we were told it. They were also very respectful to our family, joked with the kids, and played for a few minutes with the dogs. They also took their work very seriously and were not happy until it was done exactly how they and we wanted. All through the job their supervisors were there each day to check the status of the job and made sure the quality was what he and we were both expecting it to be. All along, staying in contact with us and communicating with each phase. After the job was complete, other than the beautiful floors, we could barely tell they were ever here. They cleaned up their materials and supplies and left nothing behind for us to cleanup after. When it was time to pay for the services, it ended up being $212 less than the estimate said it would be. The S & H for the wood was cheaper than they expected. All in all it was a very pleasant experience dealing with Mr. Lovell and his crews. The prices are amazingly low compared to the other companies out there. Also after going through building 2 new homes in 8 years I have never dealt with a company that was so respectful, professional, and communicated as well as they did.
