They were truly professional, prompt and the work they did was excellent. They arrived when they said and each day left the areas clean. The work was completed each day as they stated and the job was completed in 4 days as they stated in their bid. They worked without wasting time and were very polite and conducted themselves very respectfully. I am very pleased with their work and recommend them highly.

Bobby and his crew were great! Bobby was a wonderful, responsible project manager, who stopped by at the beginning and throughout the project to ensure everything was done correctly. His crew is full of efficient, really great men and we are very impressed with their work. They arrived on time every day, did expert work, and completed the project much quicker than we expected. I would highly recommend Lovell's Hardwood Flooring to anyone who has any sort of hardwood flooring needs.

They only had one employee who worked at our house. He stole from us and the company has done nothing to remedy the situation. It was discovered that the employee had an extensive criminal record and was in our house unsupervised! The finished product was not good either. Do not use this company.

Bryan and his crew did a fantastic job. They were very thorough in setting all nails, filling where needed, and even gluing down some spots. They were very professional, did a phenomenal job on the sand, and the coats of urethane were expertly done. The floor looks FANTASTIC compared to where I was before, and I am really pleased with the results! The kitchen which has a newer floor looks immaculate! The older floors were pretty badly marred, and they made them look 60 years younger.. It was an amazing feat honestly.

We accepted a quote from Lovell's on May 6th for what we were told was a 4-6 day job. We wanted our floors to be whitewashed and sealed with Bona Traffic HD. We already had 4 gallons of the Traffic HD, and the quote specified that the price included our 4 gallons and everything else would be supplied by the company. The owner of the company, Bobby Lovell, quoted the job, and told us we could choose either Bona or Minwax white stain, and that the field supervisor would show us samples the first day of the job, which would be May 8th-9th. When they showed up to start working, there were no samples, but they got to work sanding. By the 11th, they showed up with a sample of something called "coastal boards" which wasn't really white, but a grayish driftwood color. It was the only option they presented us, and it definitely wasn't as white as we wanted. We showed them a technique we'd previously tried that involved diluting latex paint with water, wiping it on, then wiping off the excess. They tried that on part of a bedroom, then left. On the 12th, 4 days after starting our "4-6 day job," they told us that if we wanted Bona white, they would need to order it and it would take several days to arrive. We were living in temporary housing, paying for a storage unit for all of our stuff, waiting to move into our house, and getting tired of delays. I drove 20 minutes to the nearest distributor and picked up the Bona white and remainder of the Traffic HD we needed that same day. On the 13th, they re-sanded where they had tested the paint. On the 14th, they finally started staining and sealing. They told us not to walk through the house at all because it could leave footprints. We were told they would meet us for a final walkthrough before sealing the floors, but that never happened. On the 19th, a day after they finished, I walked into the house to find bootprints all over the first floor, sealed in. I called them, and they said they would send the field supervisor out to check on it the next day. Instead, they sent the same two guys who had done most (all?) of the work. To his credit, the one guy looked at the floor and admitted that the prints were his. We started taping off bootprints, finding more and more as we went. When I left, I was under the impression that they were refinishing the first floor completely. At this point, we also received an email from Bobby stating that they couldn't remove the cost of the stain I had purchased from the quote, and that we were basically receiving a custom finish when they had planned on and quoted for a standard finish, despite that fact that we were completely upfront about what we wanted, and what we ended up with was exactly what they had quoted-- Bona white sealed with Bona Traffic HD. When I came back the next day (it's now the 21st), there were spots all over the floor. Several spots where they had sanded right through the white stain and then sealed over it, a few where it looked like they had tried to patch the white, and it was much more white than the surrounding areas, and even more bootprints that they had missed. I called and emailed pictures to Bobby Lovell, telling him the work was unprofessional and we refused to pay for it. On the 22nd, I received a phone call from the field supervisor, who wanted to come look at the floor. He came out and wanted to try another patch job. As I kept pointing out more and more spots that needed to be fixed, he finally agreed to do the whole first floor. He told me only a few companies in the city would even attempt a white floor, and that those footprints would never show up on a brown floor, then said he wasn't making excuses. I again reminded him that we had told them from the beginning, before they even came out to quote the job, that we wanted a white floor. At this point, we were scheduled to have our ikea kitchen delivered the next day, and our things delivered from the storage unit on the following Wednesday. We arranged to have everything delivered upstairs, and we would have Lovell's return on Thursday (the 28th) to refinish the first floor. Strangely, I received an email from Bobby on the 26th saying that they could either deduct 1/3 the cost of the quote or refinish the first floor. It was as if he hadn't spoken to his field supervisor in those four days, since we had agreed on the 22nd to have him come back on the 28th. In the end, they did take off the cost of the stain we purchased, and the job they did was fine, but we were extremely frustrated by the lack of communication, dismissive attitude, and delays. There are also a lot of large chunks of "stuff" trapped under the finish of the floor, which, when we asked about it, we were told is to be expected in a man-finished floor vs. a factory-finished floor, even though no one was in the house while the floors were being finished. The other complaint I have is that Lovell's touts on their website that they are a family company with no subcontracting. But the guys who did the work wore Prestigious Hardwood shirts, and we found receipts for items that had been charged to Prestigious.

When the estimate was done , I was told this was a family business with no subcontracting, so I was quite surprised when 2 Hispanic gentlemen came to do the work. Okay, but surprised. I had contacted the company twice prior to the start day to inform them I would not be present on the first day until around 930-10 to choose the stain color, speaking once with the owner. I was told this was okay and I left the door open for them to get started with preliminaries. When I got back to the house, the man who was overseeing was leaving to get the stain, saying he had matched it to our other floors in dining and living rooms. Well, the color is much lighter than our other hardwood and the finish is not as smooth. Why didn't he wait until I got there to choose a color? I think the work performed was sub-par, and was very disappointed in the color difference and the lack of a smooth finish. Looking back on it, I should not have paid them until satisfied, but we were staying in a hotel and not able to see the progress, just the finished result. I had left a check for the amount due on the final day as requested in their contract. Never again. Also, after reading another review on Angie's list, I too saw the workers wearing shirts with a different company's logo on them. Definitely NOT a family business with no subcontractors.

They did a terrible job the first time and I had to get BBB involved, finally contacted an attorney. They finally came back after a letter of ultimatum and redid the whole second floor and the steps to the third floor. The second person they sent did an ok job, not great but ok. The so called president, Robert Lovell was rude and not very truthful. It took almost 3 months to complete the less than 2000 square foot project, so the move in to our new house has been delayed and cost us several thousand dollars in rent. It took us about a week to clean the house of all the dust both times, plus a couple of days of paint touch up.

This company did an outstanding job refinishing our hardwood floors. It had been about 8 years since they were last refinished and the floors looked pretty rough. They quoted I thought a fair price, showed up on time, were very professional and you could tell that they were very focused on providing a quality result. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their service.

Bobby Lovell personally answered his phone when I called and we set an apt for him to come to my house for a quote. Bobby was very professional and gave me a quote within 24 hours. His quote was slightly lower than a few other quotes I received. He worked with my schedule and we set a date for the work to be done. A gentleman named Paul was the one who sanded, stained and refinished my floors. He did a fabulous job and my floors look brand new. I had a few questions before and during my project, Bobby responded to my questions usually within one hour of contacting him, either through email or phone. His response time was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend Lovell's Hardwood!

The deal was for $850 for hard floor refinishing for 300 ft. The gentleman came out and was very nice but he didn’t measure the floor correctly. I came up with 288ft and he came up with 317 ft. He said they were going to charge me $1200 since the floors were pre-fabricated. I decided to not use this deal, I found someone else who could do the job for $850.

I'm very, very pleased with the way they refinished the floors, not too much on the installing the hardwood dares. We didn't feel that the installers respected our house, but the gentleman who refinished the floors really did. We thought the price was competitive. Definitely, the quality of the work was great. Paul was excellent.

Lovells did a great job. Everything was on time. The house was spotless when they were finished. They were available before, during, and after the job to answer any questions. I had them put new wood floors in the kitchen and sand and stain the existing floors in the other parts of the house (2 bedrooms, living room, hallway). For price, it should be noted that we did all the demo work for the new hardwood floors and it was down to the sub floor when they started the job.

Our floors were 40 year old raw, unfinished oak which turned out be much more difficult than normal to work with. It took 5 passes with the drum sander vs. the usual 1 or 2 to make it satisfactory. It was done with no complaint from our finisher, George, a young man with a terrific work ethic who took great pride in his work. He stayed late for two of the three days it took to get the project completed, and was determined to do the best job he possibly could. The result was beyond our expectation! We very favorably impressed and highly recommend Lovell Flooring!

Bobby Lovell returned my call promptly and scheduled a visit to our home to provide an estimate that he emailed to me the next day. My wife and I then visited his shop in Fort Thomas to choose from his many samples. We were required to pay a deposit of around $2000.00 when we placed our order and we were responsible to move all furniture out of the room prior to the installation. The hardwood was delivered a couple days in advance of the installation. The man who installed our new floor was named "John" and was very personable. It was obvious that he took pride in his work and was a perfectionist. The new floor is beautiful and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We also appreciated the 5% discount we received for being a member of Angie's List.

We had a very tight timetable and Lovell was able to fit us in. The floors have turned out looking great. They went through an extra step to bring out more of the grain which was not an additional cost. The team was very thorough and made sure that the finish come out exactly right. We changed the color of the floor and they came out and sanded a piece of the floor so we could see how it would turn out. They patiently mixed a couple of finishes until we got the color that matched our cabinets. I would recommend Lovell to anyone and we would use them again.

The installer (James) was dedicated to making sure we were happy with his work and really going the extra mile to make sure things were done to our satisfaction. There were several tricky parts where he would contact us and ask us how he would like him to handle them. I cant speak highly enough about their willingness to work with you, we had them get started on this project, while we waited for some transition pieces (from lumber liquidators) that ultimately were very delayed, and suffice it to say, they were patient and understanding and got the job done to our satisfaction.

We had a tight timeframe and they were able to complete the job in a week, which is within the timeframe they quoted us. We were very happy with the finished product.

Bobby was very easy to deal with. He did what he said, was on time, and charged a fair price. Bobby was also helpful when consulted on design ideas. John was great too. If you need great craftsmanship and a fair price, call Lovell.

The price was fair. There was a small communication glitch - me expecting the job to start a certain day, and it taking a few days longer to start. But I wasn't in a huge rush so this didn't effect me much. The quality of the install was excellent (although it was just one worker and he was slow, but very detail oriented) and I am planning on using them again.

We called 3 different floor companies to get bids, 2 of which we just found online and Lovell's Hardwood was recommended to us by our general contractor and once again by a friend that used them last year which they had found them on Angie's List. So we got 3 bids to make sure pricing was in the same ballpark. Based on price Lovell's was in the same price level as the others, but after meeting with Lovell's estimator his knowledge was far above the others that we met with. He gave us information and pointed out things that the other estimators missed and or did not pay attention to or bother to mention. He also went over their process from start to finish. He spent the time with us to make us feel comfortable with him and his company so we knew we were in good hands. When the work started the installers were here on-time and looked & acted as professionals going over everything, hanging plastic to keep the dust out of the other rooms & set-up their equipment outside instead of cutting in the house. The guys were very particular in their methods and very detailed. They finished up right on schedule and when they left there was no mess, they treated our home like they would their own. At this point it was a raw wood floor that would be sanded & finished on-site for the best outcome. The sanding & finishing crew showed up once again on-time and ready to work. They sanded the floor, showed us different color options on the floor and different shine levels. They made it very easy to decide on colors as they showed us colors that best contrasted our cabinets and wall colors and complimented both very well. They spent the time to meet with our designer ahead of time before applying the stain to the entire floor to make sure this was the best choice and she & my wife & I agreed, it looked great. The floor they installed was Oak hardwood through about 1,600 square feet. It had a beautiful boarder around the Dining Room table using a Dark Walnut wood and on the inside of the boarder the floor was laid on a 45 degree angel using the same Oak Hardwood as the rest of the floor. The floors look gorgeous and we have had a bunch of friends & family over last night to see them and everybody is amazed with the workmanship & quality of this project. I guess we have all had our fair share of botched contract work so everybody always fears the worst, but these guys here are the real deal. Will be recommending to everyone I know and will be having them do the upstairs this summer.

They did amazing work! The materials were fine, but the quality of the work was exceptional due to the meticulous detail of the installer. And the job was challenging because the materials were hard to work withand there was remodeling going on at the same time. He was coordinating his work with about 5 other contractors. They had an Angie’s List coupon for 5% off the job. The coupon could have been more clear. It didn’t say “on the labor only” and that turned out to be the specifics. The coupon didn’t specify so I assumed it included the materials. When I asked the owner, he was able to clarify.
