They painted the exterior of the house beginning with the power washing, caulking, prep. His crew was punctual, professional, and courteous. I also had several repairs that needed to be done to the storage bldg. which was completed to satisfaction. I would definitely hire Steve again!

Trying to get one of thier craftsman out for a consult, due to fencing and leaky faucet. She was friendly and extreamly helpful. Plus a discount for being a teacher. :)

Steve performed a small ceiling repair recently and did a great job. He is service-oriented which ironically is a challenge to find at times. He was responsive and stayed in contact when weather conditions delayed the initial service date.

We had many "little things" to repair , replace or update. Our handyman list had grown quite extensive so Thanks to Angie's List we called Steve Sims. He was dependable, hardworking and efficient. He repaired ceilings, painted living and dining room, replaced an exterior door, added trim around a few windows as well as an outdoor area. Oh yes and he painted an outdoor metal fireplace. Would definitely use Steve again. Thanks

Steve was very punctual when he came to our home to quote us to repair our ceiling and replace drywall after a flood In the basement He was friendly and professional. Steve and his guys did a great job, the job lasted as long as they said, no extra charges, no problems at all. Their price was fair and the work exceptional. I would use them again, and refer them as well.

Steve Sims of Wichita FixIt said on my first phone call that he would come that day or the next to "look at the door," but he didn't actually come to our home until a week or two later. By then he was arrived to do the work, and we had not heard a price by phone before then. I questioned his price ($250), because we had expected more like $150, based on the prices quotes at Lowe's and Menard's for their installation. When I questioned it, Steve replied to the effect that you get what you pay for. It was a high quality door, and Steve seemed to be doing a great job. Steve preferred payment in cash, so after I went to our bank branch to make a withdrawal and pay him, I returned home and noticed that I could see daylight under the "adjustable bottom sweep and double weatherstripping." Although it was due partly to the door's rubber sweep being warped in two spots during packing, I called Steve immediately and described the problem. He came back right away to "tighten the adjustment screw." He said that he had tightened the screw, which was through the aluminum near the bottom of the door. Still, both of us could see that the seal wasn't continuous, and Steve blamed it on the warping in the rubber. He pushed both the inner and outer rubber flaps towards the inside of the house, and said not to use the door for a day in order to "train" the rubber to flatten out in this position. This did no good: every time we opened the storm door, the level of the inner weather strip reverted to its higher level, so wind could come in. When my husband looked at the problem, he found that the hole was stripped, and it required a bigger diameter screw. That was when he discovered that the right adjustment screw had broken off in the hole and could not be tightened -- a fact Steve had not mentioned. My husband then purchased drill bits in order to drill a new hole on the right. After replacing this screw, the bottom seal has been fine -- but it was fixed by us, not by Wichita Fix It. It required about an hour of labor and some expense. The rest of the installation appears to have been done well. I don't know why Steve couldn't have applied the same problem solving to the issue that my husband did and completed the final details correctly.

Job went perfectly. He came as promised, comPleted the work as promised, and was always available by phone which I appreciated.

I CALLED AND SET UP A TIME FOR THEM TO COME OUT AND SEE EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED DONE, AND TO PROVIDE ME WITH AN ESTIMATE. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, SOUNDED LIKE THEY KNEW WHAT WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE IN TOUCH WITH MY ESTIMATE(S). OVER A MONTH LATER I STILL HAVE NO RESPONSE, I HAVE SENT EMAILS AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON THE ESTIMATE...WELL GUESS WHAT, YOU LOST THE JOB.

Steve said he could complete the deck in three days, and he and his workers kept that promise. We are very pleased with the result. We then hired him to paint the trim on our house. He said he could get to it in a week or so but called that afternoon and said his workers could start on the job the next day. They came early and finished the job in that one day. They worked very hard in this unbearable heat to finish both jobs on time.

They were curtious, professional and did exactly what I needed done in a timely manner.

He came right out when I called. He was quite pleasant to work with. He replaced the door and it works wonderfully. We had a little problem in repairing the trim near the bottom of the door due to the inablity to match what was already there. We opted to leave it for another time. He was proactive in contacting me along the way while we waited for the door to come in. His professionalism and expertise made me confident that I can call him for other jobs when needed. I will highly recommend him to others.

Steve, was prompt and efficient, obviously cared about the craftsmanship and is great to deal with.

We had two jobs. The first was repairing a storm door that didn't fit. The second was to sort out a door where the lock had jammed (involved taking it off its hinges). Steve was really helpful in suggesting how to do the jobs. He thought outside the box where necessary. Then he was efficient, and effective. Both jobs were done and sorted, and he went the extra mile in attending to the details. We had anticipated that we would possibly have to replace the whole door, but we didn't, so getting Steve round was money really well spent. I would recommend him for large projects or small.

Steve was professional, punctual and performed the work with high quality. Steve was a pleasure to deal with and he is only interested in meeting his customer's expectations.

Working with Steve Sims has been a great experience. He does what he says he will do, on-time and under budget.

While he was there he also fixed the ceiling seam, mud and taped corners, changed water filters on my purifier, change the garbage disposal, and repaired holes in the walls where prior wall fixtures had been. He water treated my shed and sidewalks, porch and porch steps. I'm going to hire him for more work. He's a really nice guy and explains everything he's doing and obviously knew what he was doing. He cleaned up nicely and I recommend him highly.
