+ 7 moreI had a list prepared from the beginning and we went over the time that would be involved and the cost per hour. Kelly suggested that I get supplies for the jobs as a saving.
Description of Work: I requested locating a leak over my kitchen, repairing the ceiling, repairing two wooden gates, replacing a ceiling fan, replacing shingles that had been blown off, and creating a railing down the back stairs. In addition, the handyman who was here also noted that a door sill in the garage and an outdoor motion light needed repair. Kelly who was the worker completing most of the task was efficient and explained each of his steps. Repairing the leak involved cutting a hole over the kitchen cabinet to locate the leak, finding the source, removing an upstairs toilet stool and resealing it to shut the leak. Kelly sprayed for mold and left the ceiling to dry returning a week later to patch the ceiling and then resurface the ceiling. Kelly repainted a ceiling upstairs where there was another leak. Kelly completed my list in a timely manner, was always on time, and explained the time involved in the task ahead of time. I am pleased with the basic repairs. I will use handyman again for future jobs and request Kelly.

+ 1 moreWe had two large drywall repairs which needed fixed due to replumbing for a gas stove. The existing drywall holes needed to be repaired and the knockdown texture reapplied so it would be invisible. Total time on-site was 3 hours for a charge of $271.00. While I wasn't on-site during the process my wife was. Ed arrived at our home ON TIME before my wife was able to meet him (5 minute delay). Ed exhibited a professional phone manner and didn't seem annoyed because my wife didn't answer the door but seemed happy to wait while I called her to find out she was only 5 minutes away. My wife seemed very pleased with the work and with Ed. Upon my inspection (and I'm pretty particular) I can't find any fault with the work that Ed completed. Ed also recommended applying primer before we repaint the retextured spots. I'm very pleased with the work that's been done and would not hesitate to recommend [Company Name Removed] to my friends, neighbors, or the Wichita community.

+ -1 moreJason was on time and friendly. He even had to make a special trip to the home store to get parts that were needed. He was done in a very short amount of time considering all the work he had to complete. I would highly recommend!!!
Description of Work: Jason was terrific! He hung two huge window boxes, a hose holder and put together three pieces of furniture for me. He also hung some shelves around the house. all work that niether my husband nor myself wanted to attempt.

+ 2 moreIt started off fine, but I never heard from them again. They later contacted me after I submitted this report and offered me $100.00 off if I use them again.
Description of Work: I called [Company Name Removed] to get an estimate for installing tile board in my basement bathroom and replacing a ceiling vent. The gentleman they sent out was very nice and took measurements and asked me what I wanted to pay so I told him a few hundred dollars. He went to Home Depot to price out the tile board and called me when he was there to see if the style he was looking at was the one I wanted. I said yes. After that I never heard from him again. I called him a few days later and left a message but still no response. I don't know if he did the calculations and based on what I wanted to spend and the cost of materials and labor he realized he didn't want to do the job, but I expected a call saying this is the cost for the work and then I could have made the determination if I wanted to go through with it. Unfortunately, he never gave me the chance.

They first gave a ballpark estimate and then followed through with a written one. They were well informed about their techniques, about work that was required, and about codes. They really went into detail on describing how they would go about the repair. I realized they knew what they were talking about. We haven’t used them yet.
Description of Work: We contacted [Company Name Removed] to get an estimate for bathroom renovation and outside siding repair. The work also included installation of windows and a storm door.

The price was not cheap but it was worth it to me to get this work done correctly the first time! My sister had used them once before and was very pleased with the results too.
Description of Work: They came out and repaired multiple severely damaged areas of drywall and seams that were cracking open.

+ -1 moreIt was a hot day and the worker had to go up into the attic to ascertain the problem. He had to disassemble the broken attic fan. After deciding the motor was burned out, he had to scour the area to find an identical/equivalent motor to fit the fan, saving the expense of an entirely new fan. After finding the motor ($65), he reassembled the fan, serviced it and got it going. My husband had to do the same thing to an attic fan in our own home. It took him days to complete the job. The job took 2.5 to 3 hours plus an 1.5 hours shopping for the replacement motor. A satisfactory half day to complete the job--and the tenant was very happy to have the fan working in the heat of the summer!
Description of Work: An attic fan in a rental property died. The worker had to go into a hot attic, diagnose the problem and attempt a fix. Instead of recommending a new fan installantion, the worker thought he could replace a burned out motor. He had to buy a new motor (not easy to find) and reassemble the fan. It works fine now!

+ -1 moreThis is the second time we have used [Company Name Removed], and it was as good as the first time. When I called the company, I asked for Jason Schmidt who had done the previous work for us. Everything was scheduled promptly, and Jason even called me to get more specifics about what we were having done. He called the night before to confirm and showed up promptly on time. He did a great job and cleaned up after himself. Couldn't be happier. His work is outstanding, and I am very pleased.
Description of Work: We had previously had an attic fan which had been removed, and I wanted the vent in the ceiling removed and the ceiling replaced.

+ -1 moreJason called to confirm our appointment the night before. He was on time and quickly assesed everything that I wanted him to do and what it would take to do it. He left for a short time to purchase a new piece of siding and a quarter round for the tub. He was back in a lot less time that he anticipated and got right to work. Everything looks great. He was friendly, efficient, and very competent. I will definitely ask for him when for my next project.
Description of Work: Replaced vinyl siding on the back of the house as a result of a previous move of the electric meter. Recaulked around the kitchen cabinets and the toilet. Fixed a latch on a screen door Added a latch to a kitchen cabinet door. Added a quarter round and recaulked the floor in front of the bath tub. Jason added the quarter round to hide damage to the floor by the tub (his idea - and a great one). I was afraid I was going to have to get a new floor.

+ 0 moreFellow from [Company Name Removed] was very clever and used wide metal braces on every other post so they did not need to be jackhammered our of concrete and replaced (though several were replaced with new and also braced with lower post part still in concrete curb-like base running the whole length of fence). The 12 foot tall solid cedar fence 60 fr long was saved AND looks great (He advised us to power wash it and it would look like new). It was a time consuming job. That is what ran the price up.
Description of Work: 12 high cedar fence had rotted at base of posts where they were embedded in concrete. Whole fence was leaning over into neighbor;s yard. City had sent a notice to fix or tear it down. All other estimators had said only way was to tear it out and put in new. None said they could fix it.

If you do call them for an estimate be prepared to pay for the estimate, it is NOT free and even if you have them do the work the estimate fee is not returned in the overall price. [Company Name Removed] is a nationwide company with offices in Wichita and they are not a local contractor if that makes a difference to you. I ended up using Helping Hands for my repairs which not only saved me money but I got a lot more repairs or a lot less money plus Helping Hands is a locally owned and operated service. I won't be using [Company Name Removed] for anything.
Description of Work: I only got an estimate and did not use [Company Name Removed]. I needed repairs to my soffit and fascia as well as repairs to my back porch roof. (not the roofing)
