Overall, this went well and expeditiously once it started. Everything about it was larger than I expected, the units, the work load, the decisions on the air vents and duct openings, but I am not disappointed with the decision to continue with boiler heat for the winter and central air conditioning for the summer. Having used window air conditioners for some 30 years, I was not really aware of the benefits I would gain from a steady relief from heat in the summer, even though I do not lower my summer temp below 76. Rates for services to heating and cooling are lower than I thought, although savings on the air conditioning bills will not pay for the expense for a long time.

The service was fine. He came out did a good job and checked over everything.

The first time they sent out a guy who couldn't help me. Then I called through Fahnestock the people who had put in the actual unit. The same guy came out with the solution for the problem after the second call. It was fixed correctly and they didn't charge me for it. That was a good organizational response. They came out when they said they would.

The complaint department heard from me a few times. They came out for an estimate and they went through the work with me. The jobs were not expected to take more than a day to do all the work. When he was doing the checking, I had a main water line problem. When they came out and got underneath the house, they found a dead cat. They would not go underneath the house after that point. They reschedule the appointment. I went underneath the house and removed the cat. He came back a few days later and cleaned out the clogged pipes. He then persisted to cut the pipe with the clog still intact and then stops because he needed a respirator. After he cut the line he had to call his supervisor. They started at 10 am and was there until 4pm to only repaired part of the sewer . They went out to buy a respirator hours later and then charged me for it. His assistant in the meantime was not doing anything. They then decided to charge me 1600.00 for two guys each day and travel charges. They never even got to the other jobs. I would not hire Brent M ever again.

They Fahnestock answered the phone business like I was switched to three people before I got to talk. Response time was good but he came and when down stairs looked at ceiling without looking in the bathroom first. He went out talked on phone, pulled truck up further in driveway he brought in a bucket, ladder, drop cloth and saw and cut a couple of squares in my ceiling. Then he wanted to look at the bathroom, while he went back down stairs I was to turned the water off and on for him and spash it around. He said, the pipe was to small that had been put in in 2009 but found no leaks with the pipes but thought the corner of the bathtub leaked and recomended a new bathtub/shower surround which I declined. He gave an estimate for a free standing shower in basement talked on phone est was $950. That was it he did pick up his mess. Now i will need to pay for sheetrock repair .

They were on time and professional.

They switched out a part on the bottom of the water heater where the gas goes to the pilot light. It quit working so they had to replace that unit. The staff was very helpful and professional. The price was very reasonable.

Pilot light wouldn't stay lit, Fahnestock came out figured out I would have to call Whirlpool as it had a left hand thermo couple and they no longer can work with those. I found out I'd have to order a conversion kit from Whirlpool, then call Fahnestock back out to fix. They showed me the info on t he tank that I would need when I called Whirlpool to get a conversion kit and the service man gave me his number to call after I received the kit so they would know to come back. I didn't like having to give them a check for $79 up front that was for the service diagnoses call but after the part came and they came back to hook it up they only charged me another $60. So felt like that was fair. The service man had to move my dryer and then rehook the vent and move it back in place and that was no problem for him.

It only took him @ 20 minutes to complete the job including a thourough leak check. He also asked if there were any other plumbing issues that could addressed under the minimum amount that he was charging me. I would be comfortable in using their services again.

I spent $80 on their services. I thought they're very conscious and professional. They're efficient and they didn't take too long. It was a pretty good price considering what I had them do. I will use them again in the future if I have to.

They did a fine job. They seemed expensive.

I have used them for the second time. They are professional. They showed up on time.

There was no charge because it was part of my preferred customer. They were efficient and got everything done quickly. I couldn't give them a high enough rating.

A little bumby at first but overall I'm thankful to have heat again and I would use this company again.

They were willing to come out and the person was very honest about the price. He was upfront and told me I would be able to find a cheaper price with going with the person on my service agreement. He said that he would come out right away and he did come within half an hour and fixed it quick. The price seemed pretty reasonable.

They were absolutely amazing and did a terrific job. They were very professional and were great teachers.

The job went fine. They helped us with the rebate for the furnace. They are responsive.

He was there less than 15 minutes, charged $90 for a service call and $50 to clean the sensor. I figure at that rate they cost $560 per hour. I feel ripped off.

I buy their annual plan where they come and do a pre-air conditioner check and a furnace/heater check. It also puts me at the top of the list should something go wrong. The labor is free if they have to come out for something so I only have to pay for the parts. I've used them for a number of years. I've always been real pleased with them. They actually put an entire air conditioning and heating system in our last house. They have always taken good care of us. The package deal is very reasonable considering they do the two checks a year plus putting me at the top of the list. I've never had any problem out of them. They are very responsive. They have always been very punctual. The gentleman that has our area is very friendly and very effective. He comes in and gets everything done and cleans up after himself. I can't think of anything negative about them; they have always done me very well.

The plumber that was assigned to our job knew exactly where the problem was and fixed it within an hour.

My sink was backing up and I had no idea why, we never used it. I called them on Wednesday, and they had someone out the next morning, in less than 24 hours. The plumber they sent was personable and helpful. He located the problem in a matter of minutes: my condenser from my AC unit was clogged, and my sink was (illegally) connected to the clogged piping. He called an AC guy out to help, and the AC guy was there at a moments notice. They cleared out the piping, and gave me a few options, including several do-it-yourself options to help me save money, to fix my sink so that it wouldn't back up again. End the end, I had them disconnect the sink so we wouldn't have to worry about it in the future. The whole matter took about two hours to resolve, and the service providers were very personable and helpful.

I thought they were a good company, but the price was a little high, and I'm going with someone else.

Fahnestock called as promised prior to appointment to advise tech arrival time. Once the technician arrived he examined the plumbing and advised what he thought the issue was and how much it would cost. After ruling several things out he was able to determine the problem was connected to the piping we believed to be in the wall. After looking at the lay out of our shower and the apposing wall he was able to determine shower line was actually hidden within a shelf beam. With my permission he took the shelf apart and located leak. With a quick run to the store he was able to resolve our leak with a new copper pipe. As if all that isn't amazing enough, he actually put the shelf back together and then placed caulking around the shower head and bath nozzle to prevent future leaks.

I called Fahnestock for a clogged kitchen sink based on reviews here on Angie's List. We had used Fahnestock for our furnace a couple of years ago, but didn't realize they had a plumbing division. Couldn't be happier with the service. They were able to come out the same day I called. The service guy had to snake the cable the entire 50 feet to clear the clog, and was willing to do whatever it took and however long it took to clear it that day. Price was very reasonable for same day service also. After talking to others that have used a popular competitor named after one of our founding fathers, I think it could have cost a lot more. There is no question who I will call if/when I have another problem.
