Description of Work: GE fridge needed new defroster element. Defrosted and Fixed with in 2 hours of my phone call (I supplied a second hair dryer for the defrost phase). Replacement part has a double element vs the original single heater element.

Description of Work: Our oven stopped working, Christmas Eve, just as we were picking up guests who would stay with us through the holidays. I called Affordable Appliance after Christmas and someone came out right away. He fixed it quickly. I cannot believe that the service call would have only been $10 to diagnose. So few repair companies charge less than $70 for a service call. He ended up fixing our appliance and so the $10 was waived.

Description of Work: They came out on Wed to service washer and said it was fixed. Sat morning washer was still leaking. Waited until Monday and they stated an entirely different problem and asked for additional money for repairs. They are a rip off.

Description of Work: They replaced the bearing on my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. It has worked very well since. Just surprised at the cost, but didn't have time to compare prices as I really needed the repair. New washer of this caliber is in the $1,000 range, so it seemed worth it.

Description of Work: Side by side Refrigerator was not cooling. He arrived, figured out what was wrong right away and went to get part. Faster than expected. So.. the freezer was building up ice on the bottom all the time too, so we asked him about that. He fixed that too, awesome. So it's like we have a new side by side, everything works again.

Description of Work: When I called, the phone was answered on the first ring. I explained my problem and since it was late in the day we made an appointment for 9:00 the following morning (Saturday). He was running a few minutes behind but called to let me know. My dryer had quit heating up. He immediately diagnosed the problem, had the part on his truck and my dryer was back in service within 15 minutes. He wrote everything down on the receipt, gave me a 90-day warranty, explained how to prevent future problems and headed to his next appointment. My dryer has a heat overload sensor that will stop if the vent hose becomes-lint filled. This feature keeps the lint from catching fire by not letting the gas and ignitor work. His suggestion was to blow out the vent hose on a regular basis. I had already done that, using my leaf blower (which he said was a novel idea), but it was too late for the sensor. I will definitely use this company's services again. The service tech was personable; his appearance neat and clean for the work he does, and did not waste time.

Description of Work: My washer broke down on a Sunday. I needed to have my washing machine repaired because it wouldn't spin or drain. I called around to several appliance repair companies the following Monday, but they all wanted from $65 - $85 just to come out (service call). I couldn't afford that, so I started asking some friends and coworkers from work for recommendations. One of my coworkers recommended Affordable Appliance, and said that they only charged $10 to come out. I contacted them immediately, and they confirmed what she said. I scheduled them to come out the next day (Tuesday) to look at my washer. That Monday night, before they came, I took the front panel of the washer off and unscrewed the top control panel of the washer - hoping to save on charges for dissasembling the machine. They showed up at the allotted time (between 11am - 1pm), but were incredibly rude. There was a young man and an older man that showed up in a van. When I opened my front door, I introduced myself, but they did not. They walked in my house and didn't greet me whatsoever - they never even told me their names. I told the older man that their company was recommended to me by a coworker, and mentioned the name of the coworker. He shrugged his shoulder, and asked where the washing machine was located. I showed them where it was, and he just looked at it. I told him that I took the panels off, but I didn't touch anything. I also showed him a corroded wire I discovered when removing the top control panel. He very abruptly informed me that he couldn't do anything to the washer unless it was reassembled. I told him I only removed the 3 screws from the top panel. He said he would have to charge me $50 to reassemble the machine, just to take it apart again. I told him that I could put the screws back in myself, and as I picked up the 3 screws to put them back into the control panel, he and the younger man simply walked out of my house - without saying a word! I never heard from them again
