KAL Electric

We purchased a new dining room light fixture and were going to have an in-law install it. On second thought, we called Kal Electric, who was recommended by the place of purchase (Rensen). Kal was in our neighborhood on the day we called them, and they stopped by our house and had the light installed within an hour. What luck! We're very happy with the installation and Kal's professionalism and promptness. Highly recommend!

Installed new commercial lighting overhead door on external side of building

They arrived on the scheduled day on time and properly wired the new switch to their and my satisfaction. They were helpful and informative and I plan on using them on any future projects.

They came the first time and said they didn't have a ladder long enough to do the work. It took a week for them to reschedule. They came back a week later and then said they didn't have enough time to finish the job because we had added on to the order. We added on because their technician suggested a fan in a closet and said they could do it. It took yet another week for them to come out to finish the job which became very frustrating. Then they accused us of being slow to pay, the work was finished on 11/18/13, they cashed the check on 12/3/13. We have offered each time to pay on the spot and they say they will send us an invoice. We paid when we got the invoice, it was cashed 15 days after the work was done.

This firm is consistently good. Very fair pricing, pleasant, on time. Highly recommend.

Matt (I think this was his name) and his partner replaced a light fixture at their first visit but due to a previous error in wiring that was left undone at the time of a remodeling project the light would not function. Matt scheduled a time to return and investigate the problem further as it would take more time than was available that day. They were punctual each time and communicated well with me. I was very grateful for his expertise and thankful that the problem was discovered and could be fixed before serious problems occurred. It was a difficult fix in the attic on a hot day so I know it was unpleasant work. That being said I have to add that six weeks later when my husband went into the attic he found a mess of insulation left in disarray. I was disappointed that this was not put back in place or at least mentioned so we would have known it needed to be done by us once the weather had cooled. It took away from my overall satisfaction and is the reason I gave a B for professionalism. As far as the electrical work goes I believe they did a good job, my light works nicely and I am happy that the wiring problem is repaired.

He very quickly identified the location of the problem (some soldered wiring in the ceiling had broken and he needed to reconnect the wires together...which is something I wouldn't have thought of without first demoing the drywall near the light switch and making a huge multi-weekend mess). In about 10 minutes, he had fixed the wiring and started his cleanup. The hardest part was reattaching the light fixture to the ceiling!!!

Mike was efficient and knowledgeable and recommended further action I could take to discover the source of the surges. I would contact Mike again in a nanosecond if I ever have electrical issues/concerns/projects in the future.

I always have good service from KAL Electric. Our first contact with them was in 2001, when they installed soffit lights around the outside of our home. These are on a daylight/night sensor, and have been invaluable to us. In 2004, they worked in my home office, installing extra can lights and outlets, also replaced a bathroom fixture.

I had a very tricky electrical outage that I could not figure out. Brad took all of about 20 minutes to track it down. It was a very weird wiring issue that many would have taken quite awhile to figure out (if at all). He was very professional and used parts I had on hand to repair. Very knowledgeable, friendly, professional, quick and reasonable. If the need arises I will call them first.

During the night of 8/11/13 - 8/12/13 the smoke detectors In my house sounded alarms off and on several times. I called Kal Electric about 10:00 a.m. They arranged to get almost immediate assistance to me; and Mike and Daniel arrived about 11:30 from Kal Electric. Both were professional in all respects and were focused on my needs as a customer. They clearly understood their business; and gave helpful and complete answers to my questions. I recommend Kal Electric for any excellent service award. I will use them for my electrical service needs in the future.

This is my second time using Kal and I will defiantly use them again. The entire staff is friendly and very professional. The work was top notch and the worksite was kept very clean. We had a problem that came up during the project and Brad took care of it right away, You can tell that the team not only cares about doing quality work but they also care about the customers. Most important beyond that everything worked when they left, I trust that Kal did the electrical work correctly and that my family is safe from future electrical hazards.

Just fine. Can't reconcile cost of minor repairs these days. Reviewed n error KAL was not the provider. It was a dfferent company.

Wow, Kal Electric is the best electrical company I have used. They are at the home we are renovating so often, they feel like family! Monique is a delight on the phone, and Brad hires the best staff. He comes out personally to evaluate jobs and is a pleasure to talk to. Mike is so comforting to have on a job -- he really knows his stuff! Every job seems so uncomplicated to them -- replacing wiring, ceiling fans, fixtures, landscape lighting, our hot tub, etc. Even in our finished basement, where they have to manoeuver around existing walls, they get it done!

It went great. They were on time for both the appointment for the estimate and the installation work.

Called four contractors after obtaining their information from Angie's list. Received call backs from only two and one of the two left a voicemail promising to connect but never did. Spoke with Monique from KAL electric and told her that I needed an estimate for my kitchen lighting installation. She arranged for Brad to come over and provide the estimate telling us approximately when he would arrive and that we would get a call 30 minutes prior to his arrival to confirm. That all happened exactly as she promised. Brad provided the estimate - and then promised that we would get a call to set up the service. Got a call within 30 minutes and made the appointment for completing the job. Again - told to expect the electrician between 8:30 and 9:30 am on the day of service. Got a call the night before - confirming and then another call in the am when he was 30 minutes out. Showed up and completed the service in a truly fast, professional and neat manner - even cut the price from the original estimate as some of the work anticipated was no longer needed (installation of a smoke detector). Left with advice on some additional non-electrical work and we are TOTALLY satisfied.

Kal Electric has been to our home twice now to install ceiling fans and outlets. This company from the top down is prompt, friendly and professional, and the work is done to spec in a timely manner. We would not hesitate to recommend them.

The owner of the business initially came to the house to assess the problems/repairs that were to be done - and actually diagnosed and fixed the issue that had caused loss of power to a portion of my basement while he was there. I had assumed that it was a bad ground fault interrrupter in the bathroom of the basement, but it turned out to be a light switch on the same circuit that had gone bad. Brad is like the electric detective!! He gave me an estimate, that was very reasonable, and set up a date to have the rest of the work completed. A crew ot 2 showed up exactly on time and completed all repairs within 30 minutes, cleaned up after themselves, and were pleasant and professional. I have used this company before for electrical work and recommend them to anybody who asks about having electrical work done.

They were able to come by the same day I placed the call, diagnose the problem, replace the problem circuit breakers and restore power to my bedrooms.The service man was courteous, listened, asked questions and solved the problem - all in a timely fashion.
