Serious quality issues were resolved amicably after much stress to me-end price reduced to cover 3rd party inspection of work repairs. Ratliff sub-contracted this work out. They dropped off material in my driveway with no notice & no official install date. I requested Ratliff inspect final work. Mike immediately came out, did a little caulking but told me everything was fine and said they aren't supposed to totally waterproof the house, only reduce painting needs. The next day I noticed some sawdust in areas adjacent to, but not under, the soffit vent covering. Only 3 of 6 holes were cut but vent covering was placed where holes should have been. I hired 2 independent companies to perform inspections. They confirmed poor quality, serious installation errors (overlaps wrong, missing caulking, no vent holes) and noted general aesthetic issues (sloppy ends, no miters, dirty). They left a mess (cigar butts, nails, metal trimmings, big metal brackets). Mike thought that was normal.

Work was performed in conjunction with soffit & fascia covering, see SIDING category for Ratliff. Original estimate contained only smaller size downspouts and not the soffit/fascia covering piece. I do not think they visited the property to make the 1st estimate. I had to call several times and fax a letter in order to get an adjusted estimate at the property and make an installation appointment. The 2 installers were 2 hr late but were courteous, fast, and did good work. Installers were unaware of the rain barrel situation and had to call owner. Owner was very adaptable to this situation, however I did not have the rain barrels set up with a permanent type of installation and he talked me into installing the downspouts without the rain barrels. He offered several times to return to make adjustments at no charge when I am ready. He helped me select rain barrel downspout adapters and was very nice about that. I am satisfied with gutter materials, cost & installation.

It was a good experience at the end, but they weren't very reliable with when they were going to show up. I don't think they ever returned our calls and they left a mess, but they did a good job on the gutters. We had to get another company out to replace the fascia, which they hadn't told us about. When the job was all done, we realized that we had to hire someone else for that.

Played a little phone tag, but once we connected the estimate was given quickly. The work was completed a few days later in a very professional manner.

Excellent value. Had two other vendors (both on Angie's List) come, but both wanted to replace all my gutters with new ones; from $2500 to $4500, depending on the cover. Ratcliff told us we already had aluminum gutters and that they seldom go bad. They found the gutters were not securely attached in several places making it appear that the gutters were no longer working. They did suggest we replace the segment that had been damage by a falling tree. One morning they showed up and did both of these things and we are very happy with the work.

No work was done. They did not want my business, and were a bit rude about it.

I made arrangements with them to have the gutters up as soon as my house was painted and they were there on the date we both agreed upon. The gutters look great.

The job was done quickly and done well.

My guttering had separated from the roof. I just needed it re-attached. Supposedly someone came out to look at it. I did not see them. The bid was sent to me in the mail. He wanted $250 to replace the guttering. Not what I had asked for and did someone really come out?

I called Ratliff for an estimate after finding their positive reports on Angie's List. I left a message and received a call back within 24 hours. We discussed my needs/desires including options such as gutter covers, and I felt comfortable that my questions were being answered without getting a big "sales pitch". Within a week I had a written estimate in my hands. I also called 3 other companies, 2 of which I also found on Angie's list, to get estimates. One of those never called me back (grrr), and the other two provided written estimates promptly. I selected Ratliff because, all other things being relatively equal, they had the lowest price by at least $100. Within a week of selecting Ratliff, they arrived at my home at 7:30 on a Friday morning. They worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. My only complaint is that no one had called me to let me know they were coming, and that could have been awkward or embarrassing. Overall I'm very pleased.

I was pleased with them. I thought they did good quality workmanship. They were very fast, but they still managed to do good quality it seems. The man who came out to do the estimate was the president of the company and I thought he was honest, but also I found him gruff and I had to work a little bit for him to be responsive.

Very pleased with work and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Overall the experience was good. They called me back the same day. Came out to give an estimate the next day and installed the guttering within a week. Only negative was some damage to trim when old guttering removed.

Initial work was performed quickly but incomplete (some downspouts were not installed). The workers left without communicating the fact that the work was incomplete and when they would return. Work was later completed after contacting the contractor. This subsequent visit left a few minor problems necessitating a third follow-up visit.

WORK WAS SCHEDULED TO BE DONE THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 4. WORK DONE ON SEPTEMBER 22. (THERE WERE SOME WEATHER PROBLEMS.)

OVERALL, THE WORK WAS PERFORMED. I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED KNOWING IN ADVANCE THE DAY THE CREW WOULD BE WORKING. I THINK MIKE WAS TRYING TO GET THE JOB DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER, BUT HE HAD NO EXPLANATION OF WHY HE DIDN'T CALL TO LET ME KNOW THE INSTALLATION DATE WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. IN ANY CASE, THE GUTTERS ARE EXACTLY THE COLOR THEY WERE BEFORE AND THEY DON'T LEAK. RATLIFF HAD THE LOWEST BID.

I DID RECEIVE A WRITTEN BID FROM RATLIFF GUTTERING FOR ADDING A DOWNSPOUT TO THE WEST SIDE OF THE HOUSE AND REPLACING A GUTTER AND DOWNSPOUT ON THE EAST SIDE WHERE WE DID HAVE A HOLE. I THOUGHT THE COST OF APPROXIMATELY $275 WAS VERY REASONABLE. MY ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT IS THAT I WAS HEADING OUT ONE DAY WHEN 2 GUYS SHOWED UP TO MAKE THE REPAIRS WITHOUT CALLING. THEY ALSO SAID THAT SOMEONE HAD BEEN THERE THE DAY BEFORE AND WOULDN'T DO THE WORK BECAUSE OF A DOG IN THE YARD. FIRST OF ALL BOTH AREAS OF REPAIR DID NOT INVOLVE BEING IN THE FENCED BACK YARD WHERE OUR DOG WOULD HAVE BEEN. AND SECONDLY, SINCE OUR DOG IS A YOUNG GOLDEN/LAB MIX HE IS NOT JUST LEFT IN THE BACK YARD WITHOUT SOMEONE HOME TO SUPERVISE. AND IF I WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO BE HOME SO THE REPAIRS COULD BE DONE I WOULD HAVE HAD TO RESCHEDULE SINCE I HAD AN APPOINTMENT I COULD NOT GET OUT OF AND THEY JUST SHOWED UP WITHOUT NOTICE.

CREW APPEARS TO HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB. THERE IS ONE CORNER THAT ISN'T JOINED SMOOTHLY BUT I DID NOT SPEAK WITH THE COMPANY ABOUT IT AND DID NOT ASK THEM TO CORRECT IT.

THEY WERE ALWAYS FRIENDLY, AND GOT THE WORK DONE PROMPTLY WHEN IT WAS STARTED. BEST OF ALL, I WAS ABLE TO COORDINATE THIS ALL BY PHONE. IT WAS A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE.

RATLIFF GAVE AN ESTIMATE OF ABOUT 1/2 OF THE OTHER COMPANIES I RECEIVED ESTIMATES FROM. THEY ALSO DID A GREAT JOB OF CLEANING UP, BECAUSE I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY HAD BEEN THERE TILL I LOOKED UP AND SAW WE HAD NEW GUTTERS ON THE HOUSE.

THEY DID THE JOB ON A TIMELY BASIS. I HAVE NO REASON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE JOB THEY DID.

DID THE WORK FROM START TO FINISH WITHOUT INTERRUPTION.

EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD. ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN. WORK WAS DONE PROMPTLY AND WITH QUALITY.
