Description of Work: Refinished a lamp table and a baker's rack shelf. Replaced parts on a loveseat. All looked like new when he was done. I would definitely use him again.

Description of Work: Furniture Medic refinished a book case and did a great job. He worked to meet our deadlines that related to a move. Since then, we had him back to repair a chair and it works great. We appreciate his quality and his responsiveness.

Description of Work: Don called me right after i contacted him on angie's list. i explained to him that i had a beautiful antique oak chest of drawers that needed stabilization on the inside and the outside (drawer glides kept falling apart). i offered to give it to him as i had recently purchased a new chest. he came and looked at it and offered to fix it and give it to someone who was recovering from cancer, which i thought was so admirable and compassionate of him. i would most definitely use doug for any furniture repair in the future. he is very nice person and has great ethics and morals. he explained to me everything he was going to do to fix the piece and i could tell he was very experienced at his craft!

Description of Work: The piece we had for him to look at wasn't worth the $300 quote to refinish entirely. He offered to try and cover up a spot that was very visible for $20. We took him up on the offer and we are the only one's who notice the spot now.

Description of Work: After a few conversations and an estimate, I was told by Mr. Cook to text him with my name, address, phone number, and time I would be home (he said doing this helped him to remember). He did not show up on the planned day before I had to leave for work. I texted him saying I guess he'd forgotten me, he texted back that he didn't know there was any kind of time frame. We had definitely discussed my unusual work days and hours. He also said he'd be calling me to reschedule. Never heard from him. I found someone else to do the job(refinishing a nightstand).

Description of Work: We had The Furniture Medic repair a sofa that had several of the springs break loose of the frame. They were responsive, showed up on time, fixed the problem, and it is still fine several months later. Overall very happy and would use them again.

Description of Work: Repaired/replaced the broken leg, wheels of an antique chest. Made an appointment, then came to check out the problem a few days after I called. Emailed the scheduler, made an appointment to do the work. He came and did the work right on the spot today, about 6 weeks later. I think he planned it to take an hour and a half, and he and his assistant were here and finished in less time than that. It looks great. We're very pleased.

Description of Work: He refinished my dining table, which looked beautiful at the time. The finish wore off very quickly, though. (I cannot say for sure that this was due to the finish. It could have happened to any finish.) He was supposed to refinish my chairs as well, but never came back to do it. I paid only for the table, however.

I am very happy with his attention to detail in securing the arm so that the repaired wooden arm looks as good as new! |Provider also pre-ordered replacement parts (still under warranty) from manufacturer for broken recliner couch. upon examination of couch, and explanation of time & work involved to repair the couch, suggested I wait and think about the feasibility of the repair vs buying a new couch. I appreciated the honesty and concern of this provider and decided not to proceed with the repair. I would definitely call him again for repairs and recommend him to others.

Description of Work: Don was so nice and I immediately knew I hired the right person to repair my couch. He quickly found the broken springs and fixed them (and delighted my toddler with a few rounds of peek-a-boo while her worked). Great man and great service!

Description of Work: Glued end onto an old vanity seat.

Description of Work: Don fixed a break in the back of a large poplar bookcase that had belonged to my parents, and handled a couple minor repairs on other antiques. He did a great job, the price was reasonable, and the repair has held up to use. I was glad to be able to entrust my old stuff to someone who knew what he was doing.

Description of Work: Don re-glued 6 antique kitchen chairs that are used daily. He charged $25 per chair. The chairs were very creaky and some were quite loose, now they all are solid and quiet. The best part is he comes to your home and does the repairs on site. We were able to use the chairs within a couple of hours. My other estimates had been between $65 and $100 per chair and I had to take my chairs to be repaired. He also fixed a coffee table that had been damaged during a move. The moving company had attempted to fix it twice but it never held. Don did a different type of repair and it is sturdy again.
