When I searched Angie's List for someone to repair the damage, Don Cook (The Furniture Medic) was the most highly recommended company in this area. I was somewhat reticent, as a previous experience with another Furniture Medic had not been entirely positive. However, I was impressed with the reviews, and decided to call Don. After talking to him, I decided to make an appointment for the repair. Don showed up when he said he would be there, did an excellent job, and charged a reasonable price. He is a pleasant, personable individual. Who could ask for more?

I'm completely satisfied and would call on him again.

Don did an excellent job on my husband's kitchen table & chairs that he used when he was a young boy about 57 years ago. The table and chairs look awesome. Don was very professional and courteous.

He was professional, on time, and he was fair priced. He has given us a quote for refinishing lower cabinets in the kitchen and the baseboards and we have not moved forward with this project yet.

He did a great job. Don is a craftsman who really knows furniture and refinishing; he was very fast and efficient and when he was done my chairs looked new, the scratch on the dresser was invisible and my stair banisters looked great. He's a nice guy, too. I'm very pleased and recommend him highly. He made 2 visits to my house to complete all the work so I think his price was very reasonable. Before his visit I thought I would have to replace the stair banisters or spend much more money and inconvenience to restore them.

We love his work!! Don is a very pleasant,quiet man who works effeciently and always leaves any area where he works very clean. His finished product looks better than the original custom work on the 4 bar doors.

Don Cook showed up on time and completed the repairs in the time frame of his estimate. The service fee was exactly what he estimated on the phone. He was very professional and friendly. He offered many insider tips on furniture care and repair. From the customer's point of view, this small business is operated in a manner that should be copied by all small businesses.

Two armoires needing repair - neither cost effective or sensible to transport. We needed a furniture 'house call'. I raised the question of damage to night tables during Mr. Cook's visit. He charged a flat hourly rate and completed all the repairs with artistry and professionalism.

They did a very good job and it was a pleasant experience to work with them. They were very professional, efficient and responsive. They were on time and finished the work quickly. Their quality of service was outstanding and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We picked Don from the List and knew immediately we had struck gold. His knowledgwe and insight were spot on. No up-selling, no sales talk. Just darn good advice, superb service and consummate professionalism. Our house cleaner knew him from another one of her clients who could not say enough good things about his work. The job took a week, he was in & out of our house for a few hours each day. I have never felt more comfortable handing a garage remote to a repair professional. Don went the extra mile in every way. The price was "not cheap". The work was outstanding. Value for dollar, a bargain. My vote for "honors" status

I am not unhappy with what he did but he was to come back and do my wood dining room table but has never called or anything. The work he did was very nice looking.

He came to our house to do the work, set up a tarp and got started. He was here for almost 3 hours while I left to return to work. He came back the following day to remove vises from two of the chairs that were glued, and I paid him then. Excellent work for a reasonable price!

I had two pieces of furniture to be repaired. One was a new Ethan Allen three-shelf end table that was damaged by a painter (he let paint "dust" settle on it). The second job was to repair the wheels on a rolling ottoman. I called the Furniture Medic to set up an appointment for a cost estimate. He had me call his daughter to make the appointment. I called the daughter and it took a couple days to get a return phone call. I think this part of the Furniture Medic's process could be improved. When he came for the appointment, he was right on time. He was very professional and friendly. He gave me an estimate for both jobs and said to call his daughter back if I wanted to schedule the work. I did call back to make an appointment for the work and this time the call was returned the same day. When the "medic" came to do the job, he was again right on time. He did a great job on both pieces of furniture. I was very happy that he was able to restore that new end table.

He repaired and stabilized all four chairs--I hadn't realized how rickety they had become before he fixed them. He repaired a split in the dining room table. He also repaired a coffee table. Don does excellent, careful work. He is a pleasure to deal with.

REQUESTED THAT DON COOK CLEAN UP, GLUE AND REPAIR FOUR WOODEN CHAIRS, REFINISH AN ANTIQUE BEDROOM SET AND ASSEMBLE AN ANTIQUE KITCHEN CABINET. DON GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE AND WAS VERY CORDIAL. WHEN HE CAME TO DO THE WORK HE WAS 1.5 HOURS LATE. HE COMPLETED THE CHAIRS BUT NEVER RETURNED TO COMPLETE THE REST OF THE WORK. HE NEVER CALLED TO TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON. I CALLED HIM SEVERAL DAYS LATER AND INDICATED THAT I DIDN'T WANT HIM TO FINISH THE REST OF THE WORK AND REQUESTED THAT HE RETURN MY GARAGE DOOR OPENER. NO RETURN CALL. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK ON THE CHAIRS WAS NOT GOOD. ONE CHAIR WOBBLED, ANOTHER HAD OLD VARNISH GLOBS ON IT AND ANOTHER STILL HAD A SPIDER'S NEST ON THE UNDER SIDE. I WOULD NOT HIRE HIM AGAIN. HE HAD MY GARAGE DOOR OPENER IN HIS POSSESSION FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. I CALLED HIM AND ASKED HIM AGAIN TO RETURN MY GARAGE DOOR OPENER. WHEN HE CAME TO PICK UP THE CHECK, HE DISCOUNTED $65 FROM THE ORIGINAL PRICE BECAUSE I WAS DISSATISFIED WITH THE WORK.

THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK WAS AWESOME. HE WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. MY FURNITURE NEVER LEFT THE HOUSE, HE WORKED ON IT IN THE GARAGE, SO IT DIDN'T GET DAMAGE TRAVELING BACK AND FORTH SOMEPLACE. IT IS WORTH THE WAIT FOR HIS SERVICES.

DON IS THE ONLY ONE IN THE CITY THAT I AM AWARE OF WHO WILL COME TO YOUR HOME TO REPAIR FURNITURE. HE IS VERY FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PRICES HIS SERVICES FAIRLY. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT HE IS EXTREMELY BUSY AND THERE IS GENERALLY A 30 DAY WAIT OR MORE FOR NEW CUSTOMERS.

HE PROVIDES PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL, AND EXCELLENT SERVICE. HIS CRAFTSMANSHIP IS SUPERIOR. YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE WHILE FOR HIS WORK, BUT IT'S WORTH WAITING FOR.
