He is very careful, very willing and very talented in doing anything that needs done. He is into a broad range of things. Three years ago he remodeled my bathroom, he put in a shower and did tile work. It was a great job.

I had a leak in my kitchen sink , so I filed an insurance claim. I had contacted several other contractors and Sean was the only contractor who agreed to do the work. Sean worked very hard to match the amount the insurance company gave when he was working on the proposal. He completed the work in 2 weeks, and was very professional and flexible. I have had many compliments on the work he did.

VOC We have a daughter with extreme allergies to volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Shawn provided us with all the product data sheets prior to beginning the job and allowed us the opportunity to pre-approve the list of materials. He remained sensitive to VOC usage through the entire job, including clean up products (Windex). Shawn phoned a few days after the jobs completion to check to see if our daughter had experienced any ill-effects from the installation (she did not). His sensitivity and knowledge of materials was both touching personally and a statement to his high level of professionalism. TIMELINE Shawn responded promptly to our request for an estimate, request for product data sheets, and began the job on time. Due to some extenuating personal circumstances that arose during the week for him, the job took a few days longer to be completed than anticipated. He was explanatory and apologetic about these unforeseeable delays. QUALITY The room looks terrific. I wish I could upload before and after photos~! Additionally, the floor feels so solid and level. The floor we replaced was squeaky, creaky, and had quite a bit of flex in it. What an improvement! PRIVACY I hate having people come into my home and work on it! It's my home, not a construction site. Shawn and Leo were both very considerate of these facts. As much as I hate any intrusion - I would definitely invite them back for future work.

I called Shawn this morning at 8:00 am after finding his name on Angies list. I explained I was in a bind - trying to sell my home and needed help finishing up a couple of minor projects so I could list my house by April 2nd. Shawn was able to adjust his schedule and agreed to install 2 exterior doors in the afternoon. I was thrilled - I understand this type of responsiveness isn't always possible with contractors due to their schedules - Luckily it worked out for both of us. Shawn did great work, was easy going, no high pressure sales pitches or up sales which I value and appreciate the most. He explained his work - what he was doing etc... I felt like he was a partner in the project - He had to stay longer then anticipated since one of the doors required some custom fitting .. (Wider then normal) ... He didn't charge us extra for the extra work involved and actually he did more then we originally asked him to. I'd recommend Shawn to anyone - and will call him again for repairs large or small.

It was a bad and a good experience. It was aggravating. Shawn Gordanier was the one who did the contract for them. Sometimes he wasn't on his game. He wasn't always here when he was supposed to be. We were happy with the work that he did, but there were things that could have been improved upon. I have had him back here. He has come back and fixed any problems we have had and I am sure he will come back if we need him to in the future. I think he had too many pots on the fire. We probably would not use them in the future.

Overall, the project went very well. The estimate was very detailed, the contract was thorough and well explained, the start/finish dates were clearly communicated and due to the level of detail in the estimate, I was able to save on the final cost by doing some of the work (tearout and painting, for example) myself. Shawn started the project on time, kept me updated daily throughout the duration of the project on what would be happening next and what to expect. The work was done very well and the site (my master bathroom) was kept clean every day before he and his crew left, which my wife and I appreciated very much. The project was completed just as was stated originally (in just under two weeks) and the results are outstanding. Additionally, since we did do some of the work ourselves, the project came in under the original estimate.

I had Shawn come out for bathroom remodel BID, and never received bid. I talked to him a few times(on phone or email)and he keep having reasons for delay. He even asked for a copy of other contractor bid to help him out which I sent him, with price blockedout.I just never received bid . He is not trustworthy from what I can tell from our interactions. It has been approx 6-7 weeks since he came out other contractors took 1-2 weeks to get back with their bids

Per my notes on this file my last conversation with the member was that he had received multiple bids, and wanted to check up on where mine was. I stated that I was running behind on paperwork, because a few of our then current projects had a few complications. I asked how the contracts are looking and he said he was having a hard time comparing them, so I asked for a copy so I could make comparing my proposal easier for him. I sent the proposal via e-mail per his request and have not been contacted since. I will not comment on being called "not trustworthy", I believe that our numerous reports from clients where we actually did the work more that speaks to how trustworthy we are here at "Done Right Contracting"

The first thing that impressed me about Done Right was the estimate I received. It was incredibly detailed and thorough so I knew exactly what I would be getting. Shawn went over cost areas that might change once he got into the walls and floor, so although the condition of the hidden parts of the house wasn?t as good as I?d hoped, there were no ugly surprises. No remodeling project ever goes perfectly, but when something did go slightly awry, Shawn was quick to respond to make it right. Everyone that worked on the house was polite, good humored, and professional. Many thanks to Shawn, Jake, Danny, Carlos, Brian, Kevin, and Chris for their hard work. I am very happy with the result of their efforts.

WE TEND TO DO A LOT OF CUSTOM WORK ON OLDER OFTEN UNIQUE HOUSES. THIS CLIENTS HOUSE WAS NO EXCEPTION, BUT RELAYING ON OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE PRAIRIE VILLAGE HOMES WE WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT ON TIME AND UNDER BUDGET, ALTHOUGH WE DID EXPERIENCE SOME ADDS THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE EXISTING PROJECT WAS BETTER THAN EXPECTED SO WE WERE ABLE TO ABSORB THE ADDS INTO OUR ORIGINAL BUDGET. THIS CLIENT WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK FOR AND I AM HAPPY TO SEE THAT SHE FEELS LIKE "SHE GOT MORE THAN HER MONIES WORTH FOR THE PROJECT." I LOOK FORWARD TO COMING BACK TO HER HOUSE FOR THE NEXT PROJECT.

Excellent finished product. Shawn is sincere, professional, and honest. The only issue I had was timing. It was scheduled to be a 2-3 week project and ended up taking 3 months, almost entirely due to a cabinet subcontractor. They made good with some additional discounts and Shawn threw in some extras as well to make it right. I would use them again without hesitation.

THIS PROJECT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES FROM LAST YEAR IT WAS LOCATED IN AN 100+ YEAR OLD HOME IN HYDE PARK. THE HOMEOWNER WANTED TO UPDATE A BATHROOM THAT WAS REMODELED SOMETIME BEFORE HE BOUGHT THE PROPERTY. WE REMOVED AN OVERSIZED JACUZZI TUB, VANITY, TOILET, AND AN ODD SIZED SHOWER. COMPLETELY REDESIGNED THE SPACE. SOME OF THE SURPRISES WE DISCOVERED WAS AN OLD EXISTING WINDOW THAT A PREVIOUS REMODELER COVERED UP, AND THAT ALL OF THE WALLS WHERE BUILT INSIDE THE ORIGINAL BATHROOM WALLS WE STARTED WITH A 8 X 8 BATHROOM WITH 8 FOOT CEILING WITH NO WINDOW AND ENDED UP WITH A 9 X 10 BATHROOM WITH 9 FOOT CEILINGS AND A FROSTED GLASS WINDOW. THE HOME OWNER LIKE THE VINTAGE FEEL OF HIS 100+ YEAR OLD HOME TO WE DECIDED TO USE 3 X 6 SUBWAY TILE AND CLASSIC ACCENTS TO HELP HIDE THE FACT THAT E HAVE A NEW MODERN BATHROOM IN A HISTORIC HOME. THE CAST IRON TUB WAS FOUND IN SPRINGFIELD AND REFINISHED BY A COMPANY HERE IN TOWN. OVER ALL WE ENDED UP BLOWING OUR BUDGET BY ROUGHLY $1,100 DOLLARS, BUT WE GAINED A WINDOW AND ALMOST AN ADDITIONAL 20 SQUARE FEET OF FLOOR SPACE AND AN ADDITIONAL 1 FOOT OF CEILING HEIGHT. THE BIGGEST HEADACHE OF THIS PROJECT WAS THE CABINET COMPANY AND WAITING FOR THE CABINET TO BE MADE THAN FINISHED...I HAVE SINCE MOVED ON TO A DIFFERENT LARGER COMPANY HAVE NOT HAD EXPERIENCED ANY SET BACKS/BLOWN TIME DELIVERY DATES SINCE WE SWITCHED CABINET COMPANIES.

THIS IS ANOTHER PROJECT THAT THE HOMEOWNER WAS PLEASED WITH AND HAS CONTACTED US FOR ADDITIONAL WORK TO BE DONE AT THEIR HOUSE (THE BEST COMPLIMENT I CAN RECEIVE AS A REMODELER). THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS PROJECT WAS THAT IT GOT PUSHED BACK INTO THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND THE BITTER WINTER WE HAD THIS PAST YEAR. I AM NOT ONE TO MAKE EXCUSES, BUT SOME DAYS/WEEKS IT WAS JUST TOO COLD TO WORK OUTSIDE AND/OR HAVE AN 10' HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE HOMEOWNER'S HOUSE. ALTHOUGH WE EXPERIENCED A BREAK DOWN IN COMMUNICATION WITH THIS CLIENT WE FINISHED THE JOB AND UNDER BUDGET AND WITH LITTLE TO NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE HOMEOWNERS AND THEIR CHILDREN. WE LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUING TO BE THEIR CONTRACTOR FOR THEIR FUTURE CONTRACTING NEEDS.....UP NEXT ON THE LIST IS REPLACING THE KITCHEN SINK AND FAUCET AND ADDING AN INSTAHOT WITH WATER FILTER FOR THEM.....ALONG WITH POSSIBLY PAINTING THE EXTERIOR.

We're soliciting bids for a remodel and this company is so highly rated that they're one of a few we wanted to get bids from. So I called and asked about getting an estimate. He told me so many people are price shopping these days that he spends too much time giving estimates where the customer doesn't hire his company for the work. And since each estimate takes 20 hours of his time, he suggested we look at his #1 spot on Angie's List and decide from the customer comments whether we want him for the job. I've never known anyone who chooses a contractor without seeing a price, so picking one solely off a rating wouldn't work for us. Fortunately this isn't the only remodeling company with good ratings, so we'll see if the one of the other ones would mind coming out and looking at the job.

Shawn had to figure out how best to accomplish the not easy task of heating the basement. He did a lot of research, and gave me alternate bids, including heated tile floor, putting heat ducts across the ceiling and down the wall, or putting heat ducts in the ceiling; anyway, we had to have the ceiling torn out for lighting, too. We decided against the heated tile because not enough increase in temp for the money, and went with ducts across the ceiling and down the wall coming out near the floor to keep the heat down low where the people would be. Had to replace louvered doors with solid doors, stain to match paneling, put pine around the ducts on the wall and stain to match paneling, put in lighting and balance around fireplace, but before all that put in spray and fiberglass insulation, wallboard on the back of the unfinished utility parts of the basement, take off and rework the outside door, install weatherstripping. Finish by stripping and polishing existing vinyl tile floor. It is fab! Two weeks from start to finish and they were neat and left everything way neater and more organized than when they started. Kept me well informed. Went a little over budget, but part of that was extra electrical I asked for like grounding the outlets and installing a big fluorescent light for a sewing/craft area.

Shawn Gordanier came out, arrived on time, and provided an estimate. After comparing, I chose him to do the work. He and his staff tore out old tile above the bathtub, including around the fixtures; replaced the old fixtures; prepped the walls for new tile; cut and installed the new tile. He also had to remove some plumbing below the tub where the wood had rotted out, tear out the old wood, and replace it with new.

My wife and I contacted 4 companies to review the job and provide estimates and Shawn had the best ideas on how to do the remodel the way we wanted without going over budget. He came up with several options and gave us separate estimates for the two we favored. He e-mailed the names and locations of material vendors to us that included street maps and hours of operations. After we accepted his bid he scheduled the start date that worked best for us. His crew was very professional and courteous and the replacement shower looks better than we imagined. This was a difficult job because we asked Shawn to retain the old 50's pink tile on the walls but tie it in to a solid surface shower wall. He was the only contractor of the four contacted that said he could do it - the others wanted to rip out all of the old wall tile. After the shower was completed and used for the first time we noticed it was draining too slow. Shawn came out that evening and cleared a clog. We are very happy.

Its been over a month since Shawn came to our house to give us a bid. He told us that he would get us a bid in the following week. When I didn't hear from him for a couple of weeks, I called him back. He apologized and said that he was really busy, but that he would get us our estimate in about 4 days. It's now been a couple more weeks. After 1 month, we still don't have a bid. He seemed very nice and professional, but now appears to be just another contractor who makes promises that he can't or won't keep. At this point, it is very unlikely that I will use this company.

The process went smoothly and the job was completed in a timely fashion. We don't live close to our rental property, so Shawn was very accommodating regarding our schedules. We trusted him make a lot of the decisions about matching the floor tile to the shower tile, light fixtures, etc. He is very talented in his trade, and the bathroom turned out better than expected. We will use him in the future and would recommend him to anyone needing a reliable, trustworthy, and experienced contractor. He even stayed late one evening to show the house to a potential tenant!
Description of Work: Shawn and his crew completely remodeled a bathroom at one of our rental homes in Prairie Village, KS. He took out the old bathtub, vanity, and light fixtures and replaced them with new. He also ripped out the old vinyl floor and vinyl shower stall and replaced it with ceramic tile. By the shower, we had an old wooden window that was water damaged and he completely took this out and replaced it with glass blocks. Our plumbing was the outdated PVC pipe, and he replaced this as far up the wall as he could manage. Also, our toilet needed repair and he fixed this.

Shawn was prompt to return my call and scheduled an appointment to meet with me the next day. I needed for the work to be performed in the afternoons because I work late (I get home after 2:00 am) and he was willing to accommodate that request. The project moved along smoothly and I now have a beautiful new shower that I can enjoy each day.
Description of Work: The company demolished and replaced a mud shower in my master bathroom and repaired some leaking plumbing that was dripping onto the ceiling of the garage. A good-sized hole was cut into the drywall in the master bedroom to facilitate access to the water supply for the tub in the guest bathroom. The leak in the supply line was repaired and the drywall was replaced. Some of the drywall in the ceiling of the garage was removed so that plumbing could be examined and replaced as needed, and that drywall was replaced as well.

I MADE THE DECISION TO LEAVE TOWN FOR WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY 2-3 DAYS AND IT TURNED INTO A FULL 7 DAYS. DURING THIS PERIOD ALL OF MY CURRENT JOBS WERE COMPLETED ON TIME AND UNDER BUDGET, THANKS TO MY HARD WORKING AND DEVOTED CREW MEMBERS. A CLOSE FRIEND PASSED AWAY, AND HIS YOUNG FAMILY WAS IN NEED. I MADE THE DECISION TO LEAVE TOWN TO HELP. IF I HAD TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING. I AM JUST SURPRISED THAT THESE REPORTS ARE STILL ACTIVE, I GUESS THAT SYMPATHY IS RARE THESE DAYS.
