Texturite is a company that has been in business since 2003 and continues to serve the greater Wichita area by providing many home remodel services at an affordable price. Texturite specializes in the removal of outdated “popcorn” ceilings which homeowners have been unsatisfied with for years. Popcorn, or as the industry calls it “acoustic”, ceilings were first used in the early 60's and quickly became popular as a low cost way to hide imperfections, which drywall ceilings are bound to have, while having a new look which was appreciated at the time. Unfortunately, popcorn ceilings, as with virtually all home décor from the 60’s, are not meeting the demands of current homeowners and are seen as being outdated and lacking the beauty which homeowners desire. Contrary to this fact, popcorn ceilings are still being used in construction today, predominantly in “starter” homes, for the same reasons that they were used some 65+ years ago. One major problem with these ceilings is that they are typically one of the dirtiest surfaces within one’s home; they collect cobwebs, dust, and water stains and are unable to be cleaned without flaking off. Another major flaw is that when these ceilings become damaged and need to be patched, it is impossible to reapply a texture which will match the rest of the ceiling. Texturite specializes in the removal and transformation of outdated and damaged popcorn ceilings into a new Tuscany style handmade ceiling. Our ceilings are set apart from all other competitors because Texturite is the only company which creates handmade ceilings, not sprayed on by a machine, giving them the character, beauty, and individuality which modern homeowners desire. We also create low profile, modern finishes and textures on existing walls, even over wallpaper. Description of Work: The owners were friendly, involved, efficient, and professional. The work done was of high quality for the price. I had my popcorn ceilings removed and texture put in its place, as well as texture applied to my walls. Guests compliment my home every time they arrive. I will definitely use Texturite again when I continue renovation through the rest of my house.
