Description of Work: Neil Harris came to check on my AC this spring. They did a good, thorough job and cleaned it and told me everything looked good. My only complaint is that I paid over the phone, but that was not communicated to the technician. Of course, I wound up getting charged twice, but when I called the company, they were quick to correct the problem.

Description of Work: New water heater. NOT tankless! Very expensive and did not, would not provide an itemized invoice. I wrote to the President to file my complaint, who called and apologized. He then explained they now price like auto garages, by the job. So all jobs like mine cost the same, not based on time and materials. This is just a different and expensive approach We have had their service contract since 1994 when we bought our first home. They have changed a lot since then. Now owned by a big company. They are not the same Neal Harris they once were.

Description of Work: We used Neal Harris Service Experts for heating and air conditioning. We purchased furnace and A/C unit from them 2 or 3 years ago. We had them serviced the unit probably a year ago and they're coming out later on this week. Usually, like they're coming out this week it's 129 dollars, for two for one deal to service the A/C these week, then they'll come back in the fall to service the furnace both for 129 dollars.

Description of Work: Excellent repair knowledge and did an overall good job. However, I thought for the time spent, approx. 30 minutes,and $157.00 was to much ($99 service call and $58 to clean burners and "starting rod".

Description of Work: Thanksgiving night I noticed an unusual burning odor and realized the furnace fan was not running. I turned off the furnace and called Service Experts the next morning (Black Friday) around 7:30 am. An appointment was promptly scheduled with an arrival time between 8 and 10 am the same day. The technician arrived shortly after 8 am and made a temporary repair so the furnace would work while I debated about purchasing a new furnace to replace the inefficient 15 year old model. The technician reached a sales representative to schedule an appointment to discuss replacement options. The sales rep arrived around 10:30 am and I decided to buy a new energy efficient furnace. We set an installation date for the following Monday. Around Noon, the Sales Rep called to say they had a service cancellation ad could install the new furnace that afternoon. The installation worker arrived about an hour later and worked until about 7:30 pm installing the new furnace and humidifier.

Description of Work: We called and made an appointment for a Neal Harris technician to go to our rental duplex whose heat was out. After waiting three hours, we called again only to find that the technician's van broke down and was not coming. I asked that he be contacted in the first place to see about how long until he would arrive, but the telephone person said that was not possible. Then the last telephone operator was able to call only to find out that the van broke down. I was disgruntled that they did not follow up on this issue earlier and contact me. This long delay should not have happened without our being contacted. Why did it take so long for the technician to be in contact with the home base? This situation was not handled well.

Description of Work: Two trips, two charges, and still the furnace did not work. Finally friend fixed it for a $60 part. Repair person clearly did not know what he was doing, called on his phone for constant help, and still failed to fix the problem

Description of Work: I called this company to have some plumbing work done. I was told the man who schedules the plumbing appointments was in a meeting but he would be given my name, number and plumbing job information. I was told he would call me within the hour, He never called. If he didn't want my kind of plumbing job (which would have been quite simple) he could have at least returned a call.
