 + -1 moreOn time, methodical, didn't mind me tagging along and asking questions. Friendly, professional, and was prepared to only do what was necessary, not try to sell new equipment, etc.
Description of Work: A/C wasn't cooling. Service man checked freon pressure and determined it to be low. I had attempted to clear the condenser coil with compressed air, he showed me how much had been missed and suggested water, which I later did. He burned off some of the fluff with a blowtorch while on site. What a relief when system began to cool again.

 + -1 moreThey could not touch the estimate I got from Midwest Heating and Cooling. To be fair, Midwest had a furnace that they'd cut the wrong side out of. They said they could fix it and give me a great deal on it, so I took the offer. Neal Harris was higher than two other bids I got for the same equiptment from other installers.
Description of Work: I needed an estimate for replacement of a top of the line Lennox furnace and a/c.

 + -1 moreAlthough their service people are always courteous and prompt, the last 3 quotes I've received from Neal Harris have been far above anyone else's. We have a Service contract with them so that both the furnace (that they installed 10+ years ago) and the central air get a checkup once a year. I'm sorry to say, they're about to overbid yet a 4th potential job. Too bad, this didn't used to be the case.
Description of Work: Quotes for new water tank, new central air, as well as a replacement for our 40-year-old wall unit in the family room have been solicted in the last few years. All these bids were way over the competition, by several hundred dollars. The only 2 things in the house we've actually bought from them (besides an annual Service contract) are a furnace more than 10 years ago, and a garbage disposal 4 years ago.

Description of Work: I called to have someone come out and replace my A/C heating electric control - the gentleman who came out was excellent. He was neat, tidy, and conducted the work extremely rapidly. He also explained what went wrong, and what to look for when something might possibly go wrong in the future. A little expensive? Yep. But they came on the same day, on a weekend (a sunday, no less), and fixed my problem on the spot.

NOT ONLY DID HE DO A GREAT JOB HE ALSO LABELED THE PARTS OF MY SYSTEM AND TOLD ME WHAT TO DO WHEN IT IS TIME TO USE THE HEATING SYSTEM. FOR EXAMPLE HOW TO ADJUST THE HUMIDIFIER IF WATER STARTS FORMING ON MY WINDOWS. IT DID TAKE AWHILE TO GET A DATE SCHEDULED BUT THEY WERE VERY PROMPT IN ARRIVING.

I WILL ADMIT, THEY ARE PRICEY, BUT THEN, IN MY MIND WHO ISN'T; THE DECISION MAKING FACTOR FOR ME IS WHETHER OR NOT I CAN TRUST THEM TO GET THE JOB DONE - I CAN, AND IF I NEED SOMETHING AGAIN I WILL CALL THEM. I DON'T NEED THE HEADACHE OF NOT KNOWING WHO WILL SHOW UP AND WHEN, ETC. IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA FEW BUCKS.
Description of Work: I ACTUALLY HAD TO HAVE THESE GUYS COME OUT TWICE; ONCE BECAUSE MY AC UNIT FROZE UP AND ONCE BECAUSE MY THERM WENT NUTS, AND SO IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BOTH TIMES, THE GUYS WHO CAME OUT WERE INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGEABLE. THEY, IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, REPLACED THE FILTER, CHECKED AND ADJUSTED THE FREON PRESSURE, AND EVEN CLEANED THE A/C UNIT FOR ME. ON THE SECOND VISIT, WHICH WAS ABOUT A WEEK LATER, THEY CAME ON A SUNDAY VERY QUICKLY, TEMPORARILY REPLACED MY THERM SO IT WORKED PROPERLY, AND CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY AT THE TIME I SPECIFIED (WHICH SURPRISED ME) AND INSTALLED THE THE NEW UNIT, AND SHOWED ME HOW TO WORK EVERYTHING.

 + -1 moreWE ARE ON A YEARLY SERVICE CONTRACT. THEY ALWAYS PUT THOSE SHOE COVERS ON THEIR FEET. EVERY TIME THEY SERVICE US, THEY CALL US WITHIN 24 HOURS TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING WENT WELL. THEY DISCOVERED A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH OUR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT. THEY DISCOVERED AND FIXED WIRING THAT WASN'T GROUNDED. IT COULD'VE HURT SOMEONE! IT WAS CLOSE TO THE WATER TURN OFF VALVE!

Description of Work: ANOTHER COMPANY TOLD ME THAT I HAD A GAS LEAK. THIS COMPANY SENT SOMEONE TO SHOW ME WITH THE SOAP AND BUBBLE THAT I DIDN'T HAVE A GAS LEAK. THE REPAIRMAN STAYED UNTIL SIX PM AND THERE WAS NO CHARGE.

YOU CAN'T BEAT NEAL HARRIS WHEN IT COMES TO PLUMBING IN THIS CITY, THEY DO GREAT WORK. THEY EVEN OFFERED A SENIOR DISCOUNT AS WELL AS A PREFERRED SERVICE DISCOUNT BECAUSE I ALSO HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT WITH THEM.
