They do a nice cleaning job to make sure everything is working. It is fairly routine maintenance. The service men that come out are very good, they are very tidy and they do a good job. We think the price they have is fair. Every now and then they are a little off on their timing, but they are in the window of their frame they give you.

I had used this company on prior occasions for furnace repairs but not for anything this extensive. I requested quotes from two companies for the replacement of the furnace and air conditioner. The quote from Neal Harris lower than the competitor, but it was my experience with the salesmen that persuaded me to select Neal Harris. I found the sales representative to be knowledgeable, a good listener, not at all pushy and not prone to displays of "attitude". Furthermore, he was on-site for the start and the end of the installation process, ensuring that I knew what was being done and that the work was being done properly. The installation crew was a very cohesive team of three. They were CLEAN, professional and knowledgeable. The sales director of the company also came to the job site to ensure that I was pleased with the job. While waiting for the removal of the old air conditioner condenser, the crew began installing the new unit in a different location. I was not aware of this until I went outside to answer a question from the crew. The new location was not a big problem, but I did mention this to the sales director, who was still on-site. He immediately stopped the work and corrected the situation, which also involved undoing some of the work that had already been completed. I was afraid that the crew would be upset. After the sales director left I apologized to the crew lead, saying that I was sorry that they had to redo some of the work. He, as well as the rest of the crew, who happened to be in close proximity, were insistent that they were not upset at all. Their behavior and interaction with me through the remainder of the day also demonstrated this. Despite wind and heavy rain during the installation, the job site was neat and upon completion was as clean, if not cleaner than at the start. I don't think I have ever been so impressed with a work crew.

I was putting in a new shower and the tile guy told me what to have the plumbing guy do. The guy from Neal Harris who came was extremely rude to me and I had to ask him to leave my house. He because verbally abusive when he did not have the appropriate parts, and then the parts were not put in properly. The work was not done correctly, and I was very unhappy with their work. I do not feel that the plumbing work was within their scope of expertise, and I would warn others against using them for plumbing. The manager did a good job of handling the problems, but the guy who came out was terrible. I will not use them again for plumbing.

They were prompt and courteous, but they were expensive. His punctuality at the very end was acceptable. Instead of telling me we will be there from this time to this time, I would have like an update call in the morning to let me know when they would be here.

I have been very pleased with him. He is timely, courteous and everything about the experience was professional. I had a few competitive bids done and he was right there with all the others prices. I understood what they did by their clear reporting of what they look at.

It was beyond excellent. The estimator was extremely knowledgeable and brought up things I never thought of. We had the furnace and water heater moved from the basement to the garage. He arranged for everything and was here to oversee the installation, and there was some minor problems that were corrected immediately. He came out and made sure it was done and the workmen were just really good and clean and fast and did everything just perfectly. We had a problem where the water heater wasn't installed in the right location exactly, so they came out and reinstalled it and didn't charge us anything extra for it. I would most definitely use them again.

He put in a new switch on my unit. He was very professional. He made some suggestions to me on how to keep things working properly. He did a good job. He knew what he was doing.

Technician explained what he was doing before doing it. He also discussed optional service program & did not pressure me to purchase.

They are a very professional company. They stuck to the appointment they scheduled. They really seem to know what they are doing. They figured out the problem quickly and got it taken care of efficiently.

I received quotes from 3 other HVAC providers (including the company that I had used for about 20 years) and 2 of them (including my present provider) tried to sell me a furnace that was over sized for my needs. I contacted Neal Harris for a quote after reviewing their excellent rating on Angie's List and my Dad recommended them as well. To be fair, Neal Harris got a break because by the time they came out to give me an estimate, I had done a ton of research and told them exactly what I wanted, so I don't know if they would have tried to sell something I didn't really need or not. I did have to ask for the Angie's List discount because the coupon link on the site didn't provide me with a coupon. The company honored the request and gave me a $250 discount off of their original estimate. The estimate included all costs, including tax. Mike McEntire of Neal Harris was great to deal with. He looked at the current HVAC setup, personally installed the AirEase system within a few days of contract acceptance, and then came back the following week, as promised, to install 2 fresh air registers in the HVAC closet located in the attic to meet code - that additional work was done at my request and at no charge (though I feel all new installations should meet code requirements). The company actually installed a better quality unit (variable speed instead of 2-stage) because the one I had chosen was a special order and wasn't due to arrive until the day after the scheduled installation. Rather than inconvenience me and delay the appointment, he installed the upgraded furnace for the price originally quoted, so I was not upcharged in any way. The new furnace is so quiet I actually had to stand on a step stool and get right under the register to make sure it was working. Mike was very professional, knowledgeable and respectful, everything was left clean and I am pleased with the service. Everyone at the company was very easy to deal with and they returned calls in a prompt manner and took steps to keep me informed about everything.

This company has been around a long time. The technician was very knowledgeable about the operation and it was a professional experience. I was happy with the service call. They did respond fairly promptly even though it was not an emergency.

They came out and he was supposed to clean and do the maintenance on my a/c. He said he found things wrong and it needed a new compressor. He charged us to come out a couple of times and was trying to charge us for a new compressor. Another company came out and said, that he never cleaned the right parts, and it didn't even need a new compressor. Neil Harris ended up reimbursing us. They were very deceiving.

I called Neal Harris plus two other HVAC companies for bids to replace my 30-year old furnace and air conditioner. Of the 3, Neal Harris had the best all-around bid. I worked with Kevin Wilson, an affable man who answered all my questions and took the time to explain to me what was going to happen. He stated that it would be an all-day job. The 2 man crew arrived a little early on the day of installation, which was fine with me. They took care to remove the old units and install the new ones. Except for about 30 minutes for lunch, they were here from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. When Kevin said all day, I assumed an 8-hour day, not eleven. No matter, I would want them to take their time and do it right than hurry and do it wrong. As it turned out, I noticed 3 things the crew did not do in the installation. I called Kevin and explained this to him, and he came the next day. I pointed out the 3 things to him, and he cheerfully (I could hear him singing to himself while he was in the basement) went about fixing them. My one complaint is that Neal Harris did not honor the Angie s List coupon found here on this site. Kevin said he would have to run it by his boss, but because I was already getting a 14% discount (overall) for buying a system with a 14 SEER air conditioner, the coupon would not be honored (because the 14% discount was bigger than the $250.00 coupon). If Neal Harris is not going to honor the Angie s List coupon because of other discounts, then the coupon should state as such. If I had known that Neal Harris was not going to honor the coupon, I might have considered a different contractor. But because Kevin was so willing and so cheerfully came back to fix what the installation crew missed the first time, my overall impression of Neal Harris is favorable, and I would still recommend them to anyone who asks. Note: I see that as of this posting, Neal Harris no longer has a coupon on Angie s List. This was not the case when I first contacted them at the beginning of July.

I explained the situation to John Milbourn, a plumber employed by Neal Harris. He explained to me that since the pipe where the leak occur was old that I needed to replace that section. So he replaced my old pipe with copper and it worked fine. He was very professional and explained every detail of the work to me so I could understand everything that he was doing.

They call and remind us and schedule the service. They are on time. The wear booties or take off their choose. The always leave a service evaluation form for us to fill out for the main office. We have been very happy with them for many years, maybe 20 years!

Our Air Conditioning stopped working last night (8/13), so we called Neil Harris around 8:00 pm. There was someone there to answer the phone and set up a time for them to come out. The technician was here by 8:30 am, gave us an estimate and the repaired the air conditioner. He was very professional, friendly, and a hard-worker. It was a great experience and the price seemed fair.

We have been using their services for about five years. We have gotten a new furnace and air conditioner through them. They are very good. The matins people are very responsive, honest and I have been very pleased. The cost is good and you get a discount if you have the maintenance plan.

We were able to schedule the work in a timely manner. The worker showed up promptly at 8:00 am to work on the registers. He had to have some pieces specially built to fit the venting around the electrical and gas lines. The work took 6-7 hours, and we were pleased with it. He was able to put the registers exactly where we wanted them even though he had to work around existing electrical and gas lines.

They were efficient. They were very clean. The experience was very positive. They were on time both times that we have used them. They are extremely friendly and professional.

The service tech and I did not communicate very well. I was given the impression that it was a bother for him to answer my questions and address my concerns. I explained to him my concerns and he simply stated not to worry about it. After he left, I contacted Neal Harris Co via email not really expecting a reply. To my surprise, I was contacted by Daryl, a service manager. We discussed my concerns and he assured me that, indeed, Neal Harris is a customer oriented business and would do whatever it took to satisfy my concerns. In fact, Daryl and I talked more than once regarding my observations and he told me to call him if I should have any further questions. I was more than satisfied with his response. Daryl handled himself with integrity and professionalism. I appreciate that. As I reflect on what happened with the service tech, it may have simply been a case of two distinctly different personality types not making connection. The service tech was professional in his behavior.

I did not like how they priced the information. The unit is discounted if you qualify and pricing was given on an assumed qualification instead of a before qualification. They made me feel as though the price was inflated since they provided the pricing discounted before they knew if I would qualify for the discount form the local electric company KCP & L. I thought Troy was very personable and professional.

This company is very accommodating. They sent out techs quickly and the two techs were professional and knowledgeable. They fixed the problems and recommended what to do to avoid problems in future.

They have always done a good job for me. They are very thorough, professional, conscientious and clean. I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic work, as usual. I have called on Neal Harris for multiple plumbing, heating and A/C issues over the past four years, and they always send professional, hard-working people. Richard Waters is a breeze to work with when diagnosing and estimating the work needed. They are cautious about making messes; clean up after they are done; and provide thorough explanations of all of their work.
