We called Neal Harris again and had a salesman come out. Brendan Williams was the salesman and he explained several options available to us. We decided to replace both the furnace and the air conditioner with a high efficiency system . We were pleased with the speed of their installation, getting us warm in no time and want to thank Brian for that! This summer we are noticing the savings in our heating bills that we expected and are very pleased. We just wanted to thank the company and their employees for their quality of products and service.
Description of Work: Our first experience with Neal Harris was for service of our furnace in the fall. The technician, Chris, was polite and professional. He repaired our furnace, but warned us that it had a limited lifespan and that we should prepare to replace it as soon as possible. Later that winter, he was right. The furnace quit during the deep freeze and we were left without heat at the worst time.

I called Neal Harris to my house because my ac didn't work. Brent, found out that I had a leak in my coil, and all the refrigerant had leak out. He told me what the repair cost was.They sent out a salesman, Jim Lewis, he was professional, and knowledgable, but had on a very tight yellow shirt. He showed me what would be best for my house. They installed the new system the next week. Andrew was great. He and his crew were fast and protected my floors and things work great.

My AC went out on a really hot day a couple of weeks age. The serviceman, Paul, came out and told me that my compressor was out and that it was void of refrigerant. He gave me a couple of options to repair my equipment, but since it was 16 years old I didn't want to put that kind of money into an old AC. I had a salesman come out. He was very nice and professional, he showed me all my options and I decided to go with a high efficient system with an awesome AC. The installers came when they were supposed to, a problem that I've had with Anthony, Todd and Mitchell were polite and walked me through the whole process. They even wore little booties when they first came in my house. When they left my basement was cleaner than it was when they got there. I cant say enough good things about how they treated me. Thank You Neal Harris for delivering what you promised.
Description of Work: They came to my house because my AC wasn't working and told me the problems. I decided to buy a new system and they did a great job installing it.

We put the air conditioner in and the very next summer, it just wasn't working. So they came out and put Freon in it. The next summer the same thing happened again, so we had them look at it and the cooling coil was defective and they wanted to charge us to fix it even though I had the warranty that says not only will we take care of everything, we will replace the whole air conditioner for free, but they didn't want to do anything. I called the head of the company in the area and got a runaround, my husband called and got a runaround. Then they sent somebody out and said they would supply the coil, but it will cost us $800 to have it put in. Not only that, when I called the area here, the man actually laughed at me. So I found the regional manager and I sent him an email telling him what happened. The next day, the man calls and apologizes and says, oh, you misunderstood me; we're going to come and fix it and they came out and did everything for nothing. It was terrible, so I will never go with them ever.
Description of Work: We had to get a new air conditioner and heater and we went with Neal Harris Service Experts.

Everything went really well. I called Neal Harris when my ac went out. They sent Danny a service man out within 2 hours of my call and he discovered that the AC compressor had failed. Danny set up a salesman to come out within a hour and he went over several different options. I decided all I needed was a Ac and they installed it the next day. Very quick and easy service.

Overall a decent job, but I gave a "B" partly because we had to go through a sales spiel on installing a whole new heating/cooling system. We originally bought ours from them around 10 years ago but in checking the expected lifespan, 15 years is more reasonable time frame to consider a replace. There was a delay in getting the part, but the service person was knowledgeable and professional and the system so far works fine. We are subscribers to the yearly service plan and I really like the speed of thir response when there is a problem; however, when they were just Neal Harris the office staff would call to remind us to set up our maintenance appointments. They don't do that any more, and our air conditioning tune-up (already prepaid) for this season isn't scheduled until July and we called in April. I miss that kind of service and the booties they used to wear on their shoes when they came in.

We had our furnace serviced just prior to Winter, which went really well, The experienced showed high workmanship, and professionalism. So that is what we expected this time for our summer check up. They were on time, and the individual was polite. This time seemed different, it was more about the upsale of extras, like a whole new system, CO2 detector and a couple and $300 worth of extra refrigerant (that was over the acceptable amount that we were running at) than it was about maintenance and keeping the current system running. We might had even said yes to the refrigerant he not started with, do you like your current system, and giving a us a price for a new system before saying ours is actually ok. Which we knew it was from an professional energy audit the day prior. Our over all satisfaction of this maintenance check, really makes us wonder if we will do another Fall/Summer program next year. The guy wasn't rude or unprofessional, but certainly not at a level we had experienced previously.

I have had Neil Harris out 2 different times to fix my A/C this summer. They have always been very responsive to my calls and sent someone out very quickly. Both of the service technicians I dealt with were very helpful and professional. the only downside was the price they are pretty expensive but they do good work and was happy to have them working on and inside my home. Did a good job and followed up with me afterwards. Would recommend.
Description of Work: Fixed broken A/C Unit, replaced contactor, a wire that had been shorting the unit out among other things.

The team at Neal Harris was very professional and timely. From the Technician, Paul, who was polite and knowledgeable. He was there to check out my AC and found a leak in the AC and that wasn't working right. He told me all of my options clearly. I chose to have a salesman out. He was a very nice and professional guy, he showed me my options and even figured out the my original equipment (1987) was very undersized for my home, which no other company that came out did. The installers, Todd was one of them, came on time and were neat and respectful of my house, they wore cute little booties when they came in and laid down cloth tarps on my floors. They completed my job the same day, which was amazing I thought. The system works great and is amazingly quiet. I loved my experience with the Neal Harris team and would recommend them to anyone.

I got a new heating, cooling and solar system installed by Neal Harris and everything went great. the installer was great and very knowledgeable on all the equipment. i would definitely use them again. Ask for Jim in the sales department he was great. Hope this helps.

The repair guy was pleasant, however he forgot his shoe covers and tracked mud through the house. He checked my thermostat, pronounced it fine, and then recommended I replace it since I'd had trouble with it. He told me that since I was purchasing a service agreement, there was a free thermostat available. Unfortunately, it was not programmable. He told me the programmable ones were about $200, then later said they were $90-something. I asked him several questions about my A/C unit, none of which he could answer. He told me he 'just fixes them'. The discounted rate for the trip charge was $84 ($99 without a service agreement) and the work consisted of a very quick check of my thermostat and a fairly quick check of the coolant level in my outside unit. The paperwork for my billing seemed to take longer. When he brought the bill back in, he did put a new filter (one I had on hand) in the A/C for me which took another few minutes--and it was nice of him to do so since I can't reach the air return without a step ladder. I called the company after my service technician left to clarify the benefits of the service agreement and was treated very rudely. The service agreement gets me a check of my heating and cooling once a year (two separate checks, 1 for each system) and a 15% discount only on the trip charge for other work according to the rude person on the phone. I am currently on Angie's List to search for a new regular service provider for my heating and cooling as Neal Harris seems a little too pricey and the phone service really turned me off.
Description of Work: Service provider came out to check my air conditioner's thermostat as the unit was kicking off before cooled to the temperature on the thermostat. He pried it off the wall, checked a couple of connections with jumper cables, said it was working fine, and then checked my coolant level (outside).

This was the worst experience that I have ever had with a service repair company. I will never use Neal Harris again. The AC repair was not fixed on the first attempt on Sunday, May 4th, which required a second visit on Monday, May 5th. On the second visit, the service technician had the replacement part on his truck, but insisted on ordering an OEM part after he found out that I had a 10 year warranty on parts. He confirmed that the part was in stock and that he could get it overnight and then install it on Tuesday, May 6th on his way home. No one called me on Tuesday to provide me a status update of my part or to set up a time for installation. I finally called at 9 pm asking about the status of my part. I was informed that the part was not ordered on Monday, as I was lead to believe, and that the part was actually ordered on Tuesday, May 6th. I talked to a manager about this situation on Tuesday and he said that he would look into it and call me back at 7:30 am on Wednesday, May 7th. The manager never called me back. Later that day, I called the manager again, and he said that he was too busy to talk and he would call me on Thursday, May 8th when he gets into the office. Again, the manager never called me back. The AC unit was finally fixed on Wednesday, May 7th. Overall, Neall Harris has a serious communication problem. They say that they are going to do something and they never do it.

After being disappointed by another provider who supposedly provides weekend service but gave us the run around for over 12 hours before deciding they couldn't get someone out to us on a Sunday, we called Neil Harris as they had previously worked on our HVAC system. They had someone out within a few hours of our call on Sunday morning. Work was completed quickly and we will continue to use them. I had only tried someone else because they had good reviews on AL and listed regular hours 7 days a week so I thought less likely to have some sort of emergency charge. Will stick with Neal Harris in the future!

Brendan Williams was my sales rep, and he was really great! We found them through Angie's list, but ended up buying the system through costco to get additional discounts. The 2 person team that came to my house were SUPER efficient, and did everything better than I imagined. I am a meticulous person and have redone my entire house myself, and I was VERY happy with these guys - and that's saying a lot! They were very courteous in the house, didn't make much noise, and were there to do their job. No nonsense - amazing! These guys installed the coil in my short basement, in a tight SE corner (i wanted it all out of the way), dropped the line across the basement to the north side of my house, so the compressor could be in my fenced side-yard. They had to get creative with their placement, as to keep my basement useable. The system BARELY fit floor to ceiling, but it looks amazing, and is working great! These guys custom-made the duct work to fit between the joists, so I didn't have lose any additional ceiling space. I was really happy with this. I would highly recommend these guys. I'll be calling them again if I ever buy another house and need a new system.
Description of Work: Installed new Lennox heating and airconditioning system + humidifier in my first floor along with the basement ductwork.

On the coldest night of the year, our furnace quit working. I called Neil Harris at 2:30 AM and they were able to dispatch a technician by 8 a.m. The technician was fast, friendly, and most important, got the problem fixed!

I purchased a top-of-the-line Lennox A/C and furnace from Neal Harris about 15 years ago. I have been happy with the system and with the service I have gotten, up until now. Yesterday the furnace quit working. I called NH in the late evening. The tech got here within a couple hours, ahead of schedule. He opened the furnace, took some electrical readings, drained some water, and told me that I needed a new inducer motor, $661.00, and a new pressure switch, $308.00, but then he said that it would be wasting the money to put it in such an old system. He left without doing any more than promising that a salesman would call me the next morning. He charged me $99.00. I decided to get a second opinion, so I called Temp Masters. When I told him what system I had, he said I definitely don't need a new furnace because the old one was a "Cadillac" unit. He quoted me $408.00 for price and labor to replace the two parts I thought I needed. He ran down to a Lennox distributor to pick up the parts, and came straight to my house. He fiddled with the furnace for a few minutes, then told me that all it needed was to blow some gunk out of the drain line, which he did in about five seconds. He's going to hold onto the parts for a few days before returning them, just in case, but the furnace is working perfectly, and he charged me NOTHING! I don't know if the NH guy was incompetent or a cheat, but I do know their prices are inflated. I won't be trusting them again.
Description of Work: He did a service call on a furnace that quit working. Quoted repair costs, recommended that I replace the entire system.

Everyone involved worked around my unusual schedule. We ordered the new equipment on a Monday night, and it was installed on Friday. When the installers heard that we needed to be gone by a certain time, they stepped up their work to accomodate us. Part of the new furnace was a new, digital, thermostat. On Saturday I noticed that things weren't working quite right, and on Sunday I called to request telephone assistance with programming the thermostate. Neil Harris dispatched the on call technichian, who called me back in a very reasonable time, for a Sunday. He asked deeper questions about my issue, and said he was on the way. A few minutes later he called back and explained that because of the newness of the thermostat, he had not been trained on it yet, so he called his manager, who asked if I would be willing to wait until Monday, when an installer could come out. This was fine with me. On Monday I was contacted by the installations manager, who came to my house that evening. We discovered that the problems I was having were user error, and the unit was operating normally. I mentioned that the humidifyer did not seem to be working as it should, and Brian looked at it. He told me that the way it was connected was causing the humid air to run against the heated air. He suggested reconnecting it, to another vent. I agreed with this, and he asked about my schedule. Initially, he was going to come back a couple of days later, trying to avoid setting anything up over the Thanksgiving weekend, which was fine with me. He had to cancel the first visit, because he could not guarantee getting things finished before I had to leave. When he did come back, he quickly corrected the issue, and everything is working great now.
Description of Work: We bought a new furnace, humidifyer, and air conditioner. Neil Harris installed everything as well.

Technician Wayne called within reasonable time after my call to call center. Called when on the way and on arrival (this was late evening). Was friendly, very professional, organized and found the issue quickly. As we had had regular servicing of the unit 30 days ago, this was considered a follow-up visit, so no charge. We do also have a regular service agreement with this company for heating/cooling system.
Description of Work: Checked A/C because fan going but no cool air. Did quick check of all inside components; to outside unit where problem was. Quick fix; advised regarding replacement of wiring connector as to necessity (we chose not to at this time as this appears to be a freak occurrence). In and out afterhours late night on weekend.

The biggest issue I had was the responsiveness. I bought the deal from Angie's list, which was a good deal after calling the company to verify price on a regular service, but I never received any contact from the company after I filled out a appointment date calendar with multiple dates that would work for the service. I received a notification from Angie's list asking if anyone had contacted me and I let them know that no one had. I still didn't hear for a few days and finally gave up and called the company myself. Once I did this it was very easy to schedule the appointment and they were aware of the promotion once I mentioned it to them. The technician showed up on time and did very good work with the A/C and furnace. The only other issue we ran into was the communication between their office and their technician regarding the angie's list deal. My roomate was home and he charged him the full price. Once I found this out we called the company and they let us know they would refund it, they were very friendly and easy to deal with in correcting the mistake. Overall the experience was good. I think we got a good deal, we had a great technician that did everything he was supposed to and had good customer service from the company once we were able to get in touch with them. The only issue was getting a response once the deal was purchased to set the appointment and the technician being unaware of the coupon after i told the office about it and him charging us full price which they quickly fixed. I would definitely use this company again just make sure to follow up and be specific with what you need/want and everything will run smoothly. Even after last week being so hot my a/c is running great. Good Experience.
