Description of Work: I called Jim's about replacing locks for all of my external doors. They asked whether I simply wanted to re-key the locks and when I said no, they advised me to purchase the locks I wanted locally (and gave me the name of a reputable retailer) then call them back to install them. This proved to be good advice.

Description of Work: Unlock my wife's car doors. The only gig that I would give is that for a person in business 24/7-365 accepts business but must take time out to have an 1 hr+ dinner first. The price of the service wad not dropped to compensate for the customer to wait around at their good ole time.

Description of Work: 3 locks were re-keyed so we didn't have 3 different sets of keys. He made us 4 copies as well. He was quick and professional. Before using him, I got quotes from 3 other nearby competitors and he had the best prices. I would use Jim's Locksmith again.

Description of Work: A new lock and doorknob were installed in a door. The knob had broken completely. The provider also checked an adjusted another lock. I had expected to replace that doorknob and lock as well. The provider was very honest in determining that I did not need a new doorknob and lock in the second location.

Description of Work: Rekeyed our 3 locks and 3 deadbolts on our 3 doors and made us new keys (with lots of extras!). He also adjusted one of the locking components in the door jam because it was really difficult to lock---I would have to jump and push down on the door knob while trying to lock it---for no extra charge. Very pleased. I'd use Jim's again!

HARRIS (OVER 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A LOCKSMITH) DID OUR WORK. HE ALSO HAS A PARTNER WHO HAS MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE PROFESSION. HE CHARGED $28 FOR SERVICE CALL FOR THIS JOB(THIS WAS THE TOTAL SERVICE CHARGE FOR TWO TRIPS TO OUR HOUSE!), AND THEN $27 FOR LABOR TO INSTALL ALL LOCKS. HE WAS ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL, PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH, AND ALWAYS RETURNED CALLS AND KEPT APPOINTMENTS. HE DID WONDERFUL WORK. MRS. HARRIS, AS WELL, WAS ALWAYS COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE BUSINESS. PRICES WERE COMPETITIVE WITH OTHER COMPANIES (WE HAD WAITED ON THIS JOB FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS--TO FIND THE RIGHT PERSON TO DO IT!) WE WOULD POSITIVELY RECOMMEND JIM'S LOCKSMITH FOR ANY DOOR/LOCK PROBLEM OR INSTALLATION. FINDING JIM'S LOCKSMITHS ALONE, WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY WE PAID TO JOIN ANGIE'S LIST.
Description of Work: MR HARRIS, THE OWNER, DID A LOT OF WORK FOR US. HE INSTALLED SCHLAGE BRASS FINISH FRONT DOOR HANDLESET WITH DEAD BOLT AND SCREEN DOOR LATCHES, ALSO ON TWO OTHER DOORS GOING TO OUTSIDE, HE INSTALLED SCHLAGE HANDLESETS WITH DEAD BOLTS AND NEW SCREEN DOOR LATCHES AND PLATES. THIS JOB WAS KIND OF TRICKY, IN THAT THE FRONT DOOR HANDLESET WAS REALLY OLD (15 YEARS PLUS?) AND HE TOOK A GREAT DEAL OF EFFORT TO GET EXACT REPLACEMENT SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO DRILL NEW HOLES IN DOOR.
