I called 5 companies to get estimates. I had 2 companies that had estimates as competitive as Fence Repair, one company had a significantly higher estimate, and one company had a significantly lower bid. Honestly, I wanted to use the company with the lowest bid because it was so much more less, but I just did not have a good feeling about the estimator. He shared his personal health history with me for the first 20 minutes. REALLY???!!! Kate (part owner and estimator) for Fence Repair Co was pleasant on the phone and pleasant when she came to my house to provide an estimate. She was friendly. Kate was knowledgeable about her product and company. Only after understanding my reasons for wanting to install a fence -- and without a high-sales-pressure feel -- did Kate offer suggestions about the type of fences I could install and why. She explained why a fence is turned inward/outward. Apparently, the skeleton of the fence is suppose to face the owner?s yard. This was a issue for me because the skeleton of the fence in my yard was not facing my yard, but I knew it was my fence because of the paperwork left behind by the previous owners of my house. Immediately, I trusted Kate and her opinions. She comes across as a trustworthy person. After we spent a comfortable hour talking about my options, Kate left and promised to provide an estimate within 2 days, and she sent an estimate within 2 days via email. I love this because it meant less time I had to be on the phone. After going back and forth discussing cost (Kate quickly and precisely answered all of my questions regarding cost), my husband and I decided to use Fence Repair. The entire process from when Kate arrived at my house to discuss my needs to when the fence was installed, took approximately 4 weeks. All the while, Kate kept us informed. The install took 2 days to complete. The posts were installed the first day and the rails and pickets the second. The employees that installed the fence were very professional and did a sensational job. The fence looks great. One installer took the time to inform me about the gates and why a gate should open this way or that? He offered his suggestions, but said he would install the gate however I wanted it installed. I actually wanted the gates installed the complete opposite of the way he recommended, so I am glad he took the time to talk to me instead of just installing them a less functional/structural way. When the job was completed, clean-up was swift and the yard was left free of debris. The second day, I had bought the installers lunch and they even cleaned up the trash from that. You would be surprised of how many people do not. Oh! Fence Repair also called for a SAFE DIG. As I said before, "I like this because that is less time I have to be on the phone," which means less work and more time for me. I would definitely recommend Fence Repair Company!

We love our fabulous new fence! It looks amazing and we've been outside every day since it went up. Now that our new puppy is here, she can chase our 2 1/2 year old daughter around and we don't have to worry about them going too far. They were all very professional throughout the entire process! We really appreciated that they made sure to include us while they were here working to ensure we were happy with the project each step of the way. It's great when you get to work with such nice people, so we will definitely be recommending them! We can't thank them enough for making our backyard safe and complete.

I used this company based on reviews on Angies List. They came over and gave me an estimate a few days after I called. It took about three weeks for them to begin the work. They are a smaller company and very pleasant to deal with. They were very responsive and professional. My fence looks great! I would definitely use them again.

I could not have been more pleased. They returned my phone calls, arrived when they said they would, did what they said they would do, and more. We are on a corner lot in Overland Park which meant additional city codes. We also had every utility line possible running through the area and landscaping, trees, shrubs, etc., that had to be considered in where to put the fence. They came out and spent the time necessary to figure it all out as to the best placement of the fence for appearance, codes, and landscaping. And since they knew I had a dog they made sure to place the fence pickets close to the ground. I have never had a fence company pay attention to that. I have alway had to go buy landscaping timbers to fill the gaps. I would very much recommend them to anyone.

I would recommend the Fence Repair Co. to anyone that needs fence work done or is thinking about it. Outstanding quality with a very affordable price, can't beat that. We are very satisfied customers!

Excellent, rapid work. They gave me a ballpark estimate immediately over the phone, then met me the next day to give me a detailed estimate. I was late for the walk-around, and they had no problem waiting an extra 15 mins for me to get home. When I told them that I needed the fence ASAP, they were able to commit to a start date fully two weeks earlier than any of the other companies I talked to, and quoted me an extremely reasonable price. When they came to build the fence, they found that most of the postholes had to be dug by hand, because of utility lines, and still completed them along 600ft and multiple doglegs in one day of work. The entire fence and gate was up on the morning of the third day of work, and they executed excellently despite the rapidity. The fence looks excellent, is extremely sturdy, and has already stood up to falling branches and two big clumsy dogs. Highly recommended.

Very punctual and professional. Our old fence was removed and new posts were installed initially. This displaced our two large dogs and neighbor dogs on both sides. Because of this, the workers set forth to finish quickly. It only took two full days and we were back in business. Much appreciated. Will definitely use this company again. We have two small jobs for next spring.

The day I called, they came over and looked over what needed to be done and gave me an estimate, which I accepted. When I returned from my trip, the fence work had been done and they were able to reuse my horizontal railing plus added new fixtures to attach to the posts. The fence had been restretched and reattached. The area was cleaned up and all work was neatly done.

They were efficient and polite. The work was done in a timely manner.

The estimate was spot on with the final price. Materials appear to be top quality and the workmanship is outstanding. They arrived exactly on schedule and finished sooner than expected. They completely hauled away the old fence as well as any traces of construction debris. They were very good at communicating about issues that required minor changes and any changes they made were for the better. They also constructed a trellis over one of the gates, which came out looking beautiful. This is a family operation, but it is totally professional and they are good builders and workers.

I found The Fence Repair Company on Angie's List and contacted them in early May. Kate came out to see the current situation, listened to what I was wanting, and gave me some good ideas. She sent me a bid promptly and we agreed to proceed when their schedule allowed in June. Last week, Joe and Michael did the work over two days as promised. I'm very happy with the results so far.

I used Fence Repair Company in 2008 to repair my aging wood fence, so when it started deteriorating further this spring, I called for advice regarding options for repair and for estimates. Kate and her son came out and we discussed options, including another repair ($800) or total replacement ($3300). We discussed pros and cons of both options, and Kate left me a written estimate for both. There was no pressure for choosing one over the other. After several days, I decided to replace the entire fence and called Kate. She indicated that it would be 2 or 3 weeks before they could begin the job, which was fine with me. About 2 or 3 weeks later I realized that my work schedule and a dog issue had arisen that would make having the fence down for a couple of days extremely inconvenient, so I called the office. Although I was apparently fairly soon on their schedule, they agreed to put me off for a couple weeks. After a couple weeks I was still not ready to have the fence down, so I called again and asked to delayed--although I had a week in May that would be acceptable and I proposed that week. Kate agreed and indeed appeared at the date and time we discussed to begin work. The laborers were polite and worked quickly. They did exactly as I asked as far as how the fence was installed. Although one bleeding heart got a little trampled, they managed to save two smallish hydrangea bushes, and all things considered, they were very respectful of me and of my property. When they were finished, I noticed one area with which I wasn't entirely happy. I had a wrought iron gate that posed some issues and, although they had done exactly what I asked, I didn't like it. Kate agreed to come back later and rework the area around the gate, which she did--at no additional charge! Overall, I was extremely pleased with the quality of the work and the responsiveness of the company. And to all you ladies out there--you really need to see Kate in action managing those laborers! She's not a youngster, and she's not very big, but those guys were paying attention! Well done!

I chose them because the reviews seemed good. I just called them up and made an appointment the next day. I asked some questions and was satisfied with the answers. We are going from there.

I liked the fact that they were a small company and that I knew who I would be dealing with. They quickly gave me an estimate and then came out promptly and were done in a day and a half. They were always extremely professional and friendly. I would absolutely use them again.

I was very impressed with this company. First, they are a small family owned business and I got the feeling that customer satisfaction was very important to them. Second, they are by definition also a "repair" company, should that need ever arise. Third, Kate was able to answer all of my questions and gave good suggestions. I expect to contract with this company to do the job in the near future and will report the results.

I got them off Angie's List and the job was excellent. The quality of work and their professionalism were both excellent. They offered to fill some holes in our yard with the dirt they took out of the holes to put the posts in, and they did that. They showed up on time.

The fencing professionals did excellent work. The ground was wet and they minimized the wear and tear on it. There were a few small fencing decisions to be made, and they consulted me each time. Working with them was a pleasure.

Overall great experience. Kate and Mike Perkins were very professional in all aspects of this transaction. They communicated very clearly, promptly, and concisely, and always kept us apprised of where we were with each phase of the project. The slope on our lot was very challenging, yet the crew did an exceptional job, and now all our neighbors are wanting to get their fences done! As stated above, they installed a 4' cedar picket around our entire property line along with two gates. The price for the size of our lot was very reasonable compared to what we had seen before when fencing our prior house's lot, but the workmanship was much better this time around. Since we had recently moved, they also suggested a surveyor to get the property lines marked beforehand. While I wouldn't necessarily use him (the surveyor) again, I would definitely use Fence Repair Company, if the need ever arises.

This project went great. I wasn't totally sure of what I wanted and Kate really helped define the project by offering ideas and alternatives. Joe was here on time and dodged the rain to complete the job quickly and the results exceeded my expectations on every level. I wish I had more fence for them to work on!!

They are a very small company. I think there are only 5 employees. The service was excellent and the fence is beautiful. They worked around a hydrangea bush and did some trimming on a small tree that was in the way for no additional charge.

I was very pleased with the professionalism of the company and the individual that handled the repair. I will be using them again, since I have another post that has the same issue.

Replaced two wood gates for the backyard. Very responsive on both the quoting process and completing the work. Very pleased wit the work.

I phoned Fence Repair for an estimate. They came out within a couple days to provide the estimate. Work began about 3 weeks later and was completed in one day. The two gentlemen that completed the work were pleasant, professional and did a great job.
