Description of Work: They helped us with our computer issues that we were unable to resolve ourselves.

Description of Work: I installed Windows 10 which crashed my computer. They needed to uninstall the program and also "cleaned up" my computer. It did take a day or 2 longer than they originally thought it would but it was still pretty quick. The technicians are knowledgeable and respectful.

Description of Work: They recovered data from a bad hard drive. This was the first time that I used them.

Description of Work: I used this company yesterday. Two min. or so after A.J. left, up pops a message from our anti virus co that my account (bought 11/18/07) wasn't activated. (Our anti virus co had been sending me pop-ups saying all was well so...) I called the company this morning and requested A.J. come again for a different issue. After talking to them, setting the time, the printer ran out of ink. I ran to the store and bought the ink recommended by the salesperson as I couldn't figure out how to get the existing cartridges out.

Description of Work: I have a wireless network in my home that has dead spots. After struggling for years to make it better myself, I called Computer Medics. Robert Johnson came to our home and completed diagnostics of the situation. He then went out and purchased a couple of different wireless routers to update the 4-year-old version I had. He tried each router, looked up solutions on-line, and in total spent about 5 hours trying to fix the problem. Unfortunately, he was not able to improve or find a trick to managing one of the key wireless dead spots in our home. However, he was so polite, so thorough in his effort, and so honest with the result, that I felt he had provided me with the best service he could. He didn't charge me anything, and in fact, apologized that he could not improve the situation. He didn't even try to up sell me on a better router, which I could probably use, but he knew would not improve the situation either. He then suggested how to "wire" a connection to the dead spot.

Description of Work: Set up and transferred files from old PC (2000 Professional) to new (Vista). Also set up new Apple laptop. Debugged iTunes transferred from old to new computer. Fixed older PC that crashed due to a Microsoft security upgrade. Worked on 3 PC's; one new, two old.

Description of Work: The company representative was NOT the person I spoke with about linking printer to PC. Work took approximately 2.5 hrs (more than I expected) but was repaired and fixed. Polite & knowledgeable service was provided.

Description of Work: After a thunderstorm, I couldn't get my four-year-old PC to start up. I had exhausted my limited knowledge, so unplugged the system, loaded it in my car and, after consulting Angie's List, I called Karen at Computer Medics. She offered to have someone pick the system up, but I offered to drop it off. The next day, I talked with AJ, and he told me that they were checking the disk and running diagnostics. He also consulted me about how I use the computer and checked with me before making changes. Two days after I dropped it off, AJ delivered it to me at my workplace. It worked fine, had a new network card, and additional memory. AJ explained the new stuff and offered additional assistance if I found that I needed it.

Description of Work: Determined that the reason I could not get on the internet was that my modem no longer worked so the computer did not find a dial tone. He then went to two different stores to find a replacement modem, returned and installed it. All works now.

Description of Work: I was unable to open links in my email. The gentleman from Computer Medics found a program I installed, changed the settings in my computer. He corrected the problem, removed the offending program and installed a program that would work with my computer. He found the problem, and fixed my computer. My computer is working great! I recommend using Computer Medics. Keep doing what you are already doing!

Description of Work: My computer wasn't working due to fluctuations in power as a result of a power outage over Memorial Day weekend. Computer Medics responded promptly (even answering their phone on Sat. of Memorial Day weekend--the 2 other companies I tried to call before Computer Medics only had their answering amchines on), and they came to my home first thing on the following Tues. AM. They took my computer back to their company to work on and within 3 hrs. Had quickly diagnosed the problem--a dead power supply but my hard drive was OK and not ''fried. '' The next morning, they drove to my office in Lawrence to transfer my home hard drive files to my work computer, so I could access them. They also purchased a new computer for me later that day (after reviewing my needs and various options), installed it the next day, and transferred all of my files from my old hard drive to new computer. Also, reinstalled all my old programs, showed me the features of new computer, etc.

Description of Work: Robert came to the office to repair my computer that was rendered useless after a windows update. I bought two copies of antivirus software.
