Description of Work: Inspected and serviced Sentricon termite bait stations (done regularly 4 times per year). Baited one station. System in place for 10 years. All work done outside house. Leaves record of visit at front door.

THIS COMPANY FAILED TO TREAT OUR PROBLEM. THEY USED AN INSECTICIDE AND FAILED TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE LABEL - WHICH INSTRUCT THE APPLICATOR TO LISTEN TO THE SUSPECTED AREA TO HEAR BUZZING - THEN DRILL HOLES AND APPLY INSECTICIDE. AUGUSTINE APPLICATORS DIDN'T DO THIS. AUGUSTINE ALSO DID NOT TREAT IN A MANNER DESCRIBED AS NECESSARY ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE FOR EITHER HONEY BEES OR YELLOW JACKETS. AT THIS POINT AUGUSTINE HAS TWICE AGREED TO REFUND OUR MONEY, BUT HAVE FAILED TO DO SO. THEY ARE ALSO NOW CLAIMING THAT THEY TREATED YELLOW JACKETS SUCCESSFULLY AND HONEY BEES THEN MOVED INTO OUR HOUSE. WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS FINALLY ADDRESSED BY ANOTHER FIRM, THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF THE REMNANTS OF A YELLOW JACKET NEST. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR.
Description of Work: WE HAD BEES OR YELLOW JACKETS FLYING INTO A HOLE IN THE SIDING OF OUR HOUSE 12 FEET OFF THE GROUND. AUGUSTINE SAID THEY COULD TREAT EITHER ONE. A REPRESENTATIVE MADE A HOME VISIT ON JUNE 3RD - SAID YELLOW JACKETS, WE SIGNED A CONTRACT STIPULATING THEY WOULD TREAT FOR A FEE UP FRONT AND RETREAT FOR FREE AS NEEDED. A TECHNICIAN TREATED ON JUNE 7TH. THERE WAS NO IMPROVEMENT. A SECOND TREATMENT WAS PERFORMED ON JULY 1ST. NO IMPROVEMENT. ON JULY 14TH AUGUSTINE REFUSED TO RETREAT SAYING WE HAD HONEY BEES WHICH ARE PROTECTED IN KANSAS. A CALL TO THE STATE OF KANSAS RESULTED IN LEARNING THAT WILD BEES ARE NOT PROTECTED IN KANSAS. EVENTUALLY WE HAD ANOTHER FIRM VERIFY THEY WERE BEES AND REMOVE THEM AND THEIR HONEYCOMB. BETWEEN OUR FIRST CALL TO AUGUSTINE AND THIS TREATMENT - 3 MONTHS ELAPSED DURING WHICH TIME THE BEES DEPOSITED 30 POUNDS OF HONEY IN OUR WALLS. WE SUSTAINED OVER $1,000 IN DAMAGES.

OUR BOARD CERTIFIED ENTOMOLOGIST HAS ALSO SPOKEN WITH THE KANSAS CITY DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND REVIEWED OUR TREATMENT METHODS. WE TREATED THE VISIBLE YELLOW JACKET INFESTATION JUNE 7, 2005 ACCORDING TO THE CURRENT DELTA DUST LABEL. THE INITIAL PROBLEM SHE CONTACTED US FOR WAS ALLEVIATED. WE HAVE NO EVIDENCE SUPPORTING HER CLAIM THAT, AT THE TIME OF SERVICE, THE INFESTATION WAS NOT YELLOW JACKETS. WE DO REALIZE HER FRUSTRATION AT HAVING A DIFFERENT INFESTATION TO CONTEND WITH. THEY'RE ALWAYS IN THE A.M. OR P.M. AS STATED. THE ARRANGEMENTS NEVER CAUSE A PROBLEM. THEY ARE CLEAN, NEAT AND RESPECTFUL OF OUR THINGS. ONE TIME THEY CAME BACK TO 'REDO' A SERVICE (ONLY ONE COMPLAINT IN ALL THE YEARS--THE TECH LEFT THE FRONT DOOR OPEN).

MY EXPERIENCE WITH AUGUSTINE HAS BEEN GOOD -- THEY HAVE DONE WHAT WAS PROMISED IN TERMS OF THEIR MONITORING THE CANISTERS. ONCE THEY CAME OUT AN ADDITIONAL TIME TO INSPECT SOME DAMAGE I HAD, TO DETERMINE ITS CAUSE. ALSO, THEY HAVE REINSTALLED SOME CANISTERS THAT HAD TO BE MOVED FOR HOUSE MAINTENANCE. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT WE STILL HAVE TERMITES ACTIVELY FEEDING ON THE CANISTERS.
Description of Work: AUGUSTINE INSTALLED SENTRICON CANISTERS AROUND THE PERIMETER OF OUR HOUSE FOUNDATION. THE SYSTEM USED IS SUPPOSED TO GET RID OF TERMITES. THEY INSPECT THE CANISTERS MONTHLY. WHEN LIVE ACTIVITY IS FOUND, THEY THEN LOAD THE SPECIFIC CANISTERS WITH PESTICIDE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE CARRIED BACK TO THEIR NEST AND CAUSES ALL THE TERMITES TO DIE. AUGUSTINE ADDS ADDITIONAL CANISTERS IN SPOTS WHERE LIVE ACTIVITY IS FOUND.
