Description of Work: I took in a mower for repairs. I was told it would probably be a couple of weeks. It was four weeks. The repairs were done and have lasted, but no one should have to be without a lawnmower for that amount of time.

Description of Work: Dropped off my snowblower on a Saturday. Discussed the issue(s) with a non starting engine. After looking at the snowblower he called me next Monday morning and advised me of the problem and a quote to fix it. I advised him to fix the snowblower and work was completed by Monday afternoon. Great service, quick response, and very reasonable.

Description of Work: The pull cord broke on our Honda mower. I looked on Angie's List and found RG Small Engine Repair. The reviews were outstanding on this business. Added bonus was that they weren't very far from where we live. The back wheels on the mower could use replacing too as well as the blade sharpened. I took the mower down to RG Small Engine Repair, as you don't need an appointment, and they assured me they could and would fix the mower and replace the wheels and sharpen the blade. This was on a Thursday. The next day I got a phone call to tell me of the estimated cost to make sure I still wanted to do the repairs. I thought the price was very fair and told them to go ahead. Saturday morning I picked up the lawn mower! Pull cord is all fixed, new wheels on the back and the blade is nice and sharp. Great experience. Nice people that do a good job.

Description of Work: Had to have the recoil on my lawn mower replaced (that's the start pull and the top part of the mower). My mower quit working and I did alot of research to determine the problem and took it apart myself. After two hours of trying to fix the dogspring and get it repaired, I was frustrated and decided I did not want any part of fixing it. I found RG Small Engine Repair on Angie's list and the ratings were great, so I emailed the owner Rob and he was responsive and gave me an estimate based on my description and said he would confirm that once I brought it in. I took it in and the estimate he gave me was for the problem that he thought I had from describing it to him. I dropped it off in the morning and he called me that afternoon to tell me it was done. I picked it up later that day. The new pull start is better than the old one as I hardly have to pull on this new one to get it started. He cleaned it up as well and it is back to fantastic! I had looked at the parts on-line that were needed and what I could have bought them for and put them on myself; however, Rob was fair and came between five and ten dollars of what the parts would have cost me (without shipping). I figure once I added in shipping and being mostly sure I was getting the correct thing, I would much rather have Rob do it and save me the time and headache. His prices were extreamly fair and I am so glad to have found a place that still believes that a handshake, name and phone number is good enough as opposed to putting your credit card up front and then see how it goes.I will definately go there again!!

Description of Work: I got to RG's at about 8 AM. I could not start (pull the start cord) on my lawn mower after stopping to empty the grass catcher. RG asked if I had tipped the mower on its side recently and I said yes I tipped the mower on its side to drain the oil before putting in new oil. RG said that was the problem, I had oil in the cylinder. He removed the spark plug, gave a pull on the cord, and oil shot out of the spark plug hole. At that point RG said he could put the plug back in and I could take the mower home. I decided to let RG do a complete tune up (air filter, spark plug, correct oil level, sharpen and balance the blade, and lube the self propelled wheel assembly. RG said fine, I'll have it within a couple of hours. I returned at about 4:30 PM and pickup up my lawn mower. RG and his assistant described the work done and started the mower. RG charged me the regular price for a tune-up with no extra charge for lubing the self propelled wheel assembly. I recommend RG Small Engine Repair to anyone in or near Olathe, KS needing repair work or maintenance work done on a lawn mower.

Description of Work: After having a very disappointing experience w/ another company, I found this company on Angie's List and, due to the multiple postiive reports, I took my Lawn Boy mower to them for a tune up and to have the self-propel fixed (it no longer worked).

Description of Work: He repaired the self-propelled feature on our Toro mower by "wrenching" a belt back in place. It's now good as new.

Description of Work: We had two mowers serviced in the early spring. Neither mower was in disrepair we just wanted the blades sharpened, the spark plugs checked/replaced if needed, the carburetor checked etc. It took two weeks for the service to be completed and when our mowers were returned one didn't work. We took it back in to be fixed. In July both mowers started to rev hard and die. I took the mowers back to another shop that confirmed what I already knew-- nothing had been serviced on the mowers in March. The blades were incredibly dull, the carburaters were gummed and the spark plugs were needing replaced.
