I had many questions at the time that I set the appointment. They were very patient with me, returned all my calls promptly and answered all my questions. We scheduled the day to complete the work for 2+months after the appointment. Initially they send me a confirmation of the appointment and then again 2 months later a reminder of the appointment. They showed up on time and did a great job cleaning and staining our deck. This was a very professional company to deal with.

Arrived on time, every time we met. Very knowledgable about stains and answered all questions. Made multiple visits to help us decide what color we wanted. Even gave us other customers in the neighborhood that used the various colors so we could compare and actually see what the color looked like in person. Crew was on time and knowledgable as well. I always wait awhile to do reviews because I like to see if there is any 'fall out' of any kind for a few months following a job. I am very pleased. Also, I asked and Wayne delivered a small amount of stain for any touch up work I might find. I feel very confident that if I call in the future, they will work with me to resolve any issue that may arise. No issues at this time.

I called three providers. Wayne from Renew Crew took time with me to pick the right shade of stain. The others did not. Wayne also answered my concerns and his knowledge made me choose this company. They scheduled to clean the deck and seal it. Timing was prompt. Very professional and knowledgeable staff all the way around. Nice to do business with competent people who take pride in their work.

Wayne Howe checked over our deck and described Renew Crew's procedure for refinishing the deck and preserving the concrete patio. He made helpful suggestions, gave us an approximate time for the work, and provided an estimate of the cost. The crew that did the cleaning and refinishing was careful and thorough. They removed the metal balusters on the sides of the deck so they would not be discolored by the process and replaced them when the work was completed. When the wind began to hinder the crews progress, they stopped the refinishing, cleaned off protectant that had drifted onto the house paint, and apologized for having to quit working on the deck because of the wind gusts. They returned later and completed the work. The wooden deck and concrete patio look very nice. We are pleased with the three-step process used by Renew Crew and the professional way that everything was handled by Wayne Howe and the crew that did the refinishing.

My redwood swing set needed to be stained before the winter. I contacted Renew Crew over the phone based on their Angie's List rating. They told me they did do swing sets and they would send an employee out for an estimate. I didn't need to be home since it is all in the backyard. Renew Crew sends emails through each step of the process. The emailed me when they were on their way for the estimate and again when they were finished. I reviewed the estimate online and they included an option to have my deck done and a discount if I did both swing set and deck at once. I choose both and I'm really happy. Our deck has never looked so nice and the swing set looks brand new. The only down side was that it took them about 4 weeks to get to me. They are really busy.

I was pleased with the communications and service provided. The deck looks brand new and the stain looks great. The guys did leave me gate open but I noticed it before I put my dog outside. The stain was airbrushed and a little bit splattered on my siding but overall great job and so glad I used renew crew.

I would use them again in fact I plan to again soon. I was very with the service.

From the initial visit and throughout the entire process Renew Crew personnel were friendly, informative and professional. They explained my options and didn't pressure me to pick one option over the other, or even to go with their company. They kept me informed every step of the way, even though I was half-way across the country welcoming a new grandchild into the world for part of the time they were working on the deck. The team who did the actual work on my deck were neat, friendly, respectful of my property and efficient. They answered any questions I had and let me know when they would be back. They finished my deck two weeks quicker then the promised completion date. The deck looks wonderful and I couldn't be happier with the results. I would definitely use them again, and have already mentioned them to several neighbors who may need to have their decks done.

Everything went very well. They were prompt and professional and seemed to have a lot of experience cleaning a variety of composite decks. The cleaners were very thorough. Our deck looks fantastic now. We're not embarrassed to entertain on our deck any more. We paid less than the estimate because we had a Val-Pak coupon.

I sent a message to Renew Crew and Wayne was out to look at my deck and gave me an estimate the same day. He explained that Renew Crew couldn't stain the deck because of the type of stain used but offered to either clean and prep the deck so I could stain or refer me to another local business that could reapply the same brand of stain. I opted to have Renew Crew clean and prep the deck and apply the stain myself. Wayne's crew was out on October 10, 2013 and got the deck ready very quickly and allowed me plenty of time to apply the stain before fall turned into winter. The deck looked great and it was very easy to immediately start applying the stain. I was very pleased with the work done and Wayne was great to work with. The price for the work was also very reasonable.

My experience with Renew Crew (formerly Wood Renew) went very well. They came when they said they were going to come, and they did what they said they were going to do. They were efficient.

Their work was excellent from start to finish. The sales consultant, Wayne, came out at the appointed time to review the work to be done. He gave us an exact cost at the time he was at the site. He gave us an appropriate date that they could start. All work was done in a vey professional manner in one day on the day we had agreed to have it done. We were very satisfied with the work and the two men who did the work.

I cannot thank these guys enough; I was in a pickle, and they really pulled through. Like many, I decided I wanted to refinish my 20 x 20 cedar deck by myself. Read up on it, chose a cleaner and a solid stain at Home Depot, blocked off a weekend, and did the work. Despite there being "enough" drying time (according to the directions), heavy rainfall days after the application of the solid stain really mucked up the deck. Peeling, bubbling, and just general nastiness within a week. I was at a loss. Some of the stain took, but a large majority didn't. I called around to several places I found on Angie's List, and sent out a handful of emails also. Most of them thought I would be S.O.L. as far as getting the stain off, and being able to re-stain. I had another deck company coming out to look at my situation two days after I contacted providers, but Wayne from Renew Crew called before that visit happened. I told him the frustrating story, and he affirmed that if the old stain was going to come off, it had to happen ASAP. That very afternoon, he sent out Philip and one of their techs with their power washer/cleaner gear just to "test" how much the stain had set in. At first, Philip said they'd be able to get it off, but I'd have to go with a solid stain afterwards. He explained WHY the solid stain that I purchased didn't hold (and surprisingly, it largely was not my fault. . . just the product's formulation). Phillip and I worked through the pricing/color details, he gave me a quote, and promised that no matter how much of a pain in the a$$ it would be to do the job, the price would not budge. I went back to work, and they were STILL THERE when I got home finishing up the washing, even Philip himself was making sure that every single spot was free of old stain. I was amazed. The best part was that they were able to get enough off that I could have a semi-transparent stain in the end. And, sure enough, a mere TWO DAYS later they came out and finished up the job beautifully with a semi-transparent cedar. Since then, the stain looks better and better every week. It's been raining randomly with all sorts of temperature fluctuations in Johnson County this summer. . . and the job still looks magnificent. Now, if I could only prevent the squirrels from chucking black walnuts onto the deck, I'd be a happy man. Stellar service, delivered with amazing confidence, knowledge, and care. I'm just going to use these guys from now on when it comes to a refresh on the non-vertical surfaces (every 2 years) and vertical surfaces (3-4 years).

Wayne was awesome. He did WHAT he said, WHEN he said he would do it. And he was immediately and courteously responsive by telephone...something that is becoming more and more rare these days.

Initially, there was a mix-up on the service time. That's ok, things happen. However, my husband and I were calling from 9am and got no response until about 3:30. That was discouraging. But, once we were in contact, the gentleman apologized about the mix-up, came to the house and did the chemical strip to its' completion so that we would be on time with the staining on the next day. The stripping of the old color went very well. The stain is more of a natural wood. We love the work that they did and, despite the time mix-up, we would highly recommend their service.

Our deck was built in 1987 out of treated lumber. It had never been stained or sealed and had been allowed to weather. Over the years, we had a build up of mold that made walking on it when it was wet very treacherous. We did have the deck power washed and then my husband put water seal on it-- a job which was difficult and which he did not want to do again. About three years ago, we had the deck power washed again; this time, the power washing removed some of the old stain from the water sealing and the deck looked blotchy. This year it was time to do something about the deck...to restore it or rebuild it (expensive!). We heard about Wood Renew/Renew Crew and decided to call them out to see what they could do for us. Within three days, Philip Howe returned our call and came out to give us an estimate and tell us what his company could do. He told us that our deck was in very good shape and just needed sprucing up with a cleaning and a sealing. Our deck is quite large -- about 20X20 and has built in benches around it. The price he quoted--which included deeply cleaning the deck with a special foam wash, letting it dry and then sealing it to preserve the wood as well as cleaning up some steps, a teak wood doormat, a small sunning deck and a sidewalk that leads to our screen porch--was very reasonable. We hired them. Two weeks later, they were out as scheduled. The washing crew came on the dot (8 am) and got to work. First they removed our furniture and gas grill, then they began applying the foam cleaner. At all times, they protected the plantings and gardens around the deck with plywood and corrugated cardboard. The foam washing was done very meticulously by this crew of two. We were impressed with their workmanship. It took them about four hours to complete phase one. Phase two came the next day, when the staining and sealing crew of two came out and finished off the deck. This was a more tedious job because of all the nooks and crannies on the deck that had to be sealed. They, too, were meticulous in their work. We were VERY VERY happy with the finished job. Our deck looks better than brand new. I hope to include a couple of photos if I can figure out how to do this. We highly recommend them to others who wish to restore their decks.

The process went very well. It took a few days so there was minor inconvenience in moving deck furniture and grill and not being able to let our dogs out on it. The end result was very good and the deck looked like new.

Didn't use them due to the price. Was higher than I anticipated. But the quote process was very professional. Would like to use them, but need to be more budget conscious right now.

We have used Wayne Howe and Wood ReNew twice now, about every 3 years, to do our large deck restoration/re-staining when needed. They do a tremendous job, they are very responsive, punctual, and even offer discounts for returning customers. They did a professional job, called AND sent a text before coming out to do the work, left the area clean when done, and moved all our deck furniture as well. I will continue to use them exclusively to restore our deck and fence whenever needed. They are tops in our book!
