Brogan Painting & Remodeling

We hired Aaron b/c all the reviews were glowing and said he (and his team) did such great work and were proactive in pointing out areas that should be addressed. As home owners, we didn't know every area of wood rot, though we were fairly familiar. We had walked around the house and discussed each of the areas with Aaron during the bidding process. After the job began, we noticed that there were several areas of wood rot that had not been addressed, so we asked about it; these were then taken care of. We had also asked that all hooks, nails, and extra hardware be removed from the exterior. This was only somewhat done, we ended up having to mark each additional piece of hardware with blue painters tape that needed to be removed. During all of this, Aaron was helpful, and we were initially pleased with the finished work. After they finished their work, they did leave woodrot in the yard and said they'd come by to get it the following week; they never did so we had to dispose of it ourselves. Additionally, while doing some gutter cleaning after the job had been complete, we found a section along the roofline that had significant woodrot, that had not been repaired as part of the paint job. We hired Aaron because we had read other reviews indicating he was diligent in pointing out additional areas that were previously overlooked during the bid. Even if it would have cost us more to fix these additional rotted areas, we would have been fine with that. However, we were not given this opportunity and discovered them later; we're having a hard time understanding why painters would paint over obvious, rotted wood. We did then call Aaron to discuss this and played a significant game of phone tag. When we did finally talk with him, he said he'd have someone come over and replace the damaged shingles. This did not occur, nor have we heard from him since. Again, we were willing to pay additional money to get the rotten area fixed before winter, but here we are now under 10 inches of snow hoping no water/melting snow issues arise.

Aaron left a quote with us the same night he stopped by and was very cordial. Between meeting him, his quote and other Angie's List reviews, we chose him and his crew for the job. They showed up on time and quickly got to work powerwashing and caulking the house. I was simply amazed at the quickness that they got the house, deck AND fence completed. It took three days for, most of the time, a two man crew. We didn't have the old paint scheme, so they had to match according to a color catalog. They got it right on. Each day they cleaned up any mess and stacked up ladders and major tools behind the house for the next day.

I cannot say enough good things about Aaron Brogan and his crew. Our house needed a lot of prep work, but they did the whole job in four days and it came out perfect. Every seam and nail hole had been caulked - even on the new Tuff Shed. Every blemish on the outside was taken care of. They cleaned the deck so well it looked like brand new wood right before they put the stain on. We were changing colors on the deck stain as well, which made the job even more challenging. The carpenters that did the wood rot repair were top-notch. ALL of his crew members were courteous and friendly and always took the time to answer any questions that we had along the way. They were also very thorough about cleaning up each day. At the end of the job we had a new house! We also own a duplex that will need painting next year, and Brogan's Painting will be the first, and probably only, company that we call. If you are considering any kind of painting project or remodel, call them.

Very good work - no problems at all. Have used before and will use again

We were contacted promptly after our initial request for an estimate. The owner sat down with us and explained the process and answered any questions we had. After we called them to advise we would like to hire them. We told them it would be about 4-6 weeks before we were ready to have them paint our house, strip and restain our deck. They followed up with us a couple weeks later to get a firm date and talk about house colors. We picked a few and they put them on our house as a sample. We decided on a particular color then called owner back the next day to say we changed our minds. He was verrrrry patient with us, brought some additional house paint colors and even some trim and shutter colors so we could see them on the house. They did a great job! We love the colors they helped us pick out and the house looks great! We did a walk around with the owner and were very pleased how everything looks. They were easy to work with, helpful and patient. Plus the house looks great! We would definetly use this company again!

The experience was excellent from beginning to end. It did take a litte while (about 3-4 days) for Aaron to return my initial phone call, but after that it was smooth sailing. All work was amazingly completed start to finish in two days, with excellent quality.

I am very happy with the work that was done. The crew that worked on my house was punctual, polite, and friendly. I have already referred Brogan's to a friend, and will continue to do so.

I am very happy with the experience and the work done. Aaron was very helpful in getting the right colors for our house including painting sample swatches on our house. That was so helpful because paint cards never seem to look like what you expect when applied to your home. Aaron and his team were very professional, respectful and courteous. They did a beautiful job with the painting. There were 2 very minor issues which Aaron took care of within 24 hours of completing the job. I would use and recommend this company without hesitation.

Aaron provided a proposal quickly, breaking out options I requested. After agreeing to the price, he called a couple weeks later which is what I expected. I was bit surprised to hear that he was ready to start that day. I had no objection, so a couple of his people prepped the house. I wasn't there to see the power wash but the caulking and masking was evident when I go home. Next day about 5 people, including Aaron applied the paint. Third day they came and finished up. In April of 2009 we got several visits and estimates from companies found on Angie?s List and were a bit confused about which to use. After re-reading the reviews, we decided to have Aaron Brogan do the painting and we were extremely pleased that we did. His quote was specific and accurate and there were no surprises on the final bill. Along the way some additional items came up, but Aaron gave us options and prices without any pressure. He was very busy at that time of year and we were scheduled for early June, but they actually arrived 2 weeks ahead of schedule to paint our house! His crew repaired items that other companies would not take on (i.e. other painters told us to call a carpenter or window salesman or they would provide a carpenter for so much an hour). We appreciated the fact that Aaron would take care of everything and his quote included a list with exact prices for various repairs. His employees did an outstanding job fixing a casement window that had wood rot at the bottom. The pressure washing was a bit rough on a couple of plants near the house, but I probably would have banged them up if I had done the work myself. Everything else went very well. The original quote was $3,000 for the prep, painting, and some repairs. Replacing all the siding (we chose Hardi board) and trim on one end of the house cost $3300. (He gave us a less expensive option, but this was a better long term fix.) We highly recommend Brogan Painting and will definitely use them in the future.

We really liked his work. We have a two-storeyed house. We paid around $6000. They finished our front wood door. They sanded it and coated it. It looks like new now. They did a wonderful job. It took them a little over a week to complete the work. They cleaned up well after themselves. Our house looks great now. We will certainly use this company again in the future.

The crew was very nice and professional. We greatly appreciated that there was no foul language with our children and neighborhood children nearby. The crew worked hard from sunrise to sunset for 1 week in order to complete the project. The work accomplished in 1- 1 1/2 weeks (we were blessed with great weather in November) was amazing. All questions were answered. A few surprises arose during the project such as we discovered our builder had not placed any backerboard over the foam insulation and behind the lap siding. The lap siding had been nailed directly into the foam insulation which accounted for why it was pulling away from the house. Aaron advised us of the surprises and communicated any additional costs. The surprises were not numerous and did not add significant additional cost to the project. The workplace was cleaned at the project conclusion. Aaron made sure that we were happy and all our expectations were met. We were extremely satisfied and will not hesitate to use Aaron and his crew again in the future.

Aaron Brogan, the owner of Brogan's Painting, and his crew did a fantastic job from start to finish. Aaron, his site manager, John, and the entire crew were professional, responsive and attentive to my endless questions. From the moment they began work, I knew I had made the right choice. Aaron and John are knowledgeable and obviously experienced, but more importantly, they are true craftsmen who really care about their work. On many small things, they went above and beyond - I would not have known to direct them and would not have been aware if they had not taken the extra step. When the job was finished - one week in duration - I felt like Aaron and John had given me a brand new home. This is my first report for Angie's List. I've employed many contractors over the years, with good, bad, and fair results, and have learned a lot the hard way. Lest anyone think I'm going a bit over the top here - I've had so many compliments from friends and family, AND, to date, 3 complete strangers have knocked on my door to ask for details on the siding, the beautiful paint job, who did it, and how much did it cost. And finally, a neighbor, whose discrimination in such matters is impeccable, commented "well, she doesn't half ___ (you fill in the blank) anything."

It went very well. Their estimate was spot on and thorough. It took a full day for prep and they covered ever inch of the house. 2 full days for paint and a 3rd day for touch ups. They also came back a 4th day to fix little things that we missed during the walk around. The house looks better than we had expected.

We were impressed and appreciative that Brogan's team were professionals, worked every day from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. They did exceptional quality work and respected our home and property. The company owner was there every day and when they found any surprises, he always called me immediately and we discussed before additional work was done. I've had very bad experiences with home repair/painting in the past. Aaron Brogan did great work and in a timely manner. Highly recommended.

Great experience. Ed is a pleasure to do business with - he provided a fair price for a job well done. He and his crew showed up on time each morning, worked late into the evenings and even on the weekend In addition to being prompt, they were courteous, cleaned up each day after the job, and did a nice job with the paint and trim.

Everybody was very helpful but I did not use this company. I didn?t have a problem with them at all but I went with someone else because of the price. They called back right away and they give me the bid that night. The bid was very thorough on what needed to be done.

The above process was completed in five days. I called Aaron Brogan on February 16th at 3:30 pm in the afternoon for an estimate and left a message on his phone. The next morning I recieved a return call from him and he scheduled an appointment that afternoon. He arrived on time for the estimate and completed it in 40 minutes. The following Monday, February 22nd I called Aaron to accept his bid from 3 others that I had recieved. I told him during the estimate that my wife had a timeline to have work completed and he stated upfront that he could meet the date. He had two of his employees start the work the next day on removing the wallpaper in the bedrooms. His people were always on time and professional. By Thursday I had four to five employess in and out working on the project. Aaron himself stopped by to supervise his supervisor on the progress of the work. I can't tell you how much I respect this company and the people working for Aaron. They took pride in their work and were very careful in my home. Come Saturday they worked until 5 pm and Aaron did a walk thru with me on the completion of the work. I was completely satisfied. The impressive part of having this company do the work was they moved all my furniture. I didn't have to do anything. The another impressive item was that Aaron was right on the money with his estimation and he really did mean it when he wrote on the paperwork 'satisfaction guarantee'. I will hire this company again for inside as well as outside painting. It seems rare to recieve the kind of service for the price we paid. What a great company he has.

Aaron came out on short notice to give me an estimate and worked on a Sunday to help me meet my timeline to move into the house. He came back and completed the job the next morning as promised. The work is excellant and the price was very reasonable. I will use them again and reccomend them to all my friends and family.

We were actually very pleased with them. They were very efficient and very friendly. The people who came worked really hard. They did an excellent job with the clean up and didn?t leave anything behind. I would use them again in future if need be.
