Brogan Painting & Remodeling

It took a long time to get an appointment set up and one appointment for an estimate was missed. However, once they got started they worked very hard and did an excellent job.

In Johnson County there are two Brogan Paint companies, the first is Brogan's Home Painting which is owned by Ed Brogan, who is Aaron's Dad and Brogan's Painting and Siding which is owned by Aaron Brogan. I received bids from both companies, both where competitive, and John who gave me the bid said you will not go wrong with either company. After he stated that, I decided to go,with Aaron Brogan. They called three days before they started within a week of the expected start date, which was good. The first day after power washing the house, the Carpenters worked on wood rot that we had discussed when I got my bid, they also discovered a little more, that could not have,been previously discovered, but it took them the full first day to repair, and the carpenter's did an excellent job, including saving two of my windows from replacement. The next day they caulked and scraped, and as everyone knows preparation is the key to a good paint job. Aaron's team did not disappoint, caulked all nails, all seams etc, etc. They used 6 cases of caulk on my house. It took them all day, and the scraping that needed to be done was done to bare wood. Day three: priming and masking, No Corners, cut. Last of day three and day four: Painting. On my trim which I do on all sides of my house (not just the front) was done with Sherwin Williams Duration, The Cadillac or Lexus of all exterior paint. The base was done in SW's Super Paint. But the paint job was done great with thickness to specs. The Paint Job is great and I am expecting it to hold up for over 7 years with the prep job done by Aaron and his Company. My wife and I are extremely pleased with all aspects of Brogan Painting and Siding. You will not go wrong!!!!

I contacted Aaron after reading the reviews on Angies List. He was one of three painters on Angies List I had called for estimates. The other two painters, even though they show on Angies list they service my area, claimed I was too far south in Johnson County to do the job I needed done. This was very frustrating. Aaron took a little while to call me back but when he did he was very helpful. The day he and his crew came to paint they were on time and prepared to do the job. The house I live in was built in the early 70's. The walls were a 'tragic mess' after removing old wallpaper from the previous owner. They required a lot of attention and extra work to prepare them for painting. Aaron's crew did an excellent job considering what they had to work with. I opted not to have the old popcorn ceiling removed but instead painted. The ceiling, walls, doors (x3) and trim turned out beautiful! They were even so kind to remove the front loading washer and dryer from the area in order to do the job. I can't say enough good things about Aaron and his crew. I would most definitely have them back again and plan to do so in the near future.

Mr. Ed Brogan return our call and came to our home to see the job and give us an estimated cost. He began work within the time frame he had given us. His men were competent, efficient, and polite . They cleaned up the area after completing the job. We definitely are satisfied with their work . We highly recommend them. The time frame was extended because of the rainy weather and there was more wood rot than expected.

,I initially got price estimates from three different companies. The supervisor for Brogan came to my home, looked at the job to be done and gave me an immediate estimate. When I determined that further work would have to be done, he returned and did another estimate promptly. The work was scheduled as soon as the weather permitted and the crew always showed up on time and were cheerful and careful in their work. When any problems appeared, the supervisor pointed out the situation and discussed possible solutions and any additional cost. Both the crew and the supervisor listened to my questions and concerns and took care of every concern we had. The crew worked about 10 to 12 hours every day to finish the job, so any inconvenience to us or the neighborhood was limited. Everyone did an excellent job and the site was cleaned up when they finished. We are very satisfied with the work that was done. One major reason we used this company was that they were capable of doing everything that needed to be done so that we did not have to deal with several contractors. We would use this company again without question.

We had received estimates from probably 5 or so painters for our exterior paint job. Aaron was very prompt and professional. His estimate was fair compared to the majority of our other estimates. Probably mid-upper range. He provided his estimate and then also accepted the angie's list coupon and took that off of his estimate (most other painters wouldn't accept their own angie's list coupon that they had posted!!!). His crew was nice to work with and did a good job. I am happy with the finished product and would have Brogan's do it again if I had to do it all over.

We received bids from three different companies. Brogan's bid was very competitive, he showed up on time and was professional. We had one other contractor whose bid was about the same, but was no where near as professional. Brogan's team power-washed and prepped the exterior of our house, caulked and sealed cracks in the stucco and painted the trim and body of the house. They did a great job and didn't leave a mess behind. Everyone working for Brogan was courteous and professional. Helpful even - the changed out the exterior light bulbs for me, so I won't have to get up on a ladder and do it any time soon. Our house looks great and we told Brogan personally that he could use us as a reference. Thank you Angie's List!

Everything went very well. Aaron has a great crew. They made sure the job site was cleaned up each day. Was very impressed with the fact that they taped down paper everywhere, even on the roof, to avoid any over spray.

Overall the job was completed satisfactorily with only a few items that were contested due to workmanship. All contested items were repaired to my satisfaction before job was closed out. Overall the repair work was done quickly and cleanup was performed adequately. Would use again as the finished product looks good and no leaks found.

Brogan's Painting are terrific. They came out and high pressure washed the entire house. Anywhere that the water might get in the seal it with putty. Then they back roll it. Two days later, the father and son come out and they go round the house and touch up anywhere that might have needed it, that somebody may have missed. I've never had that kind of service when it comes to painting. They are terrific. As a matter of fact, from my house being painted, they got about six other houses in the development. I put a sign up and I had people coming talking to me and asking who did it, and I said You have got to have these guys, they are terrific. The paint is guaranteed for 10 years and may last 15, and that is what Brogan's did. It was a really great service.

Aaron and his crew did an outstanding job on the painting they did for our house! They were very professional and polite. They showed up on time and worked diligently until the job was complete. There was some additional wood rot on our house that was discovered after the power washing, but his crew showed it to me and gave me options of how I wanted to have it repaired. Aaron was very reasonable on his pricing for the additional work. His crew was extremely customer-oriented and did a number of small extras at no charge. I asked Aaron to assist me with picking out the paint for the outside of the house. I gave him the address of a house that I liked and wanted to mirror; however, they had rock on the outside of their house that was different colors than ours so the paint colors couldn't be exactly the same. Aaron was very patient with me and listened to ensure he understood what I wanted. He suggested alternate colors to use and he was dead on right. The house looks perfect! We also had him paint a bedroom while he did the outside work. The painter filled in the settling cracks and did a superb job. The room looks prestine! Aaron and his crew paid attention to every detail. They worked quickly and quietly as well as cleaning up each night. All was put back in order when they left. Overall, a great experience! Aaron is our only painter from now on!

Aaron was very good at getting back to me with an estimate and going over the work to be done. His carpenter crew showed up on time and worked through out the day. And this through the hottest part of the summer. This crew found some problems that were not visible and Aaron came up with a fair price for the additional work that needed to be done. On time and cleaned up area everyday. The painting crew came next and like the carpentry crew, were on time, clean and asking if I was satisfied. Very professional, on time, good work and courteous. What more could you want?

Price-wise, Aaron's was in the middle of the three estimates we received. His crew worked hard and completed the work quickly. Any concerns were addressed immediately and to our satisfaction. We plan to use his company again in the next couple of weeks to paint a deck/pergola expansion.

Aaron did everything he said he would do. He and his crew were there on time, worked all weekend since the weather was good, and completed everything timely and with excellent quality. When we met to talk about his estimate I forgot to ask about my deck staining. After he started power washing the house, I asked if we could add the deck into the project. He had his crew include the deck and was still completed when he said he would be done. Aaron also worked patiently with my wife during the color selection process. They bounced ideas back and forth for an hour before the color choices were made. She is extremely happy with the final product from a color stand point. I'm extremely happy with the quality.

He was professional & fast. Anything we brought up, he took care of immediately. He was willing to stay until we were completely satisfied. He washed all of our windows and storm windows! He raked the yard, made sure everything was spotless. I will surely reccommend him to all of my friends and family. He was not the cheapest bid, but was worth every dollar.

Aaron responded quickly to our initial call and came over the next day to provide a very thorough estimate. We had a tight schedule and he was very accommodating. His team was professional and hard-working, and finished the job on time. In addition to this job he fit us into his schedule to do some exterior siding/paint work at the house we were moving out of. We will definitely use Aaron again and recommend him highly for this type of job.

This bid was not the lowest. I chose Brogan's Painting because of the ratings on the list and because of the throughness of the inspection prior to quoting the job. Aaron came when he said he would and checked every thing carefully pointing out areas of concern which other contractors failed to note, especially in the front lap siding. He also pointed out that there could be more hiding beneath some rotted trim boards around the garage. I knew where some of the rot was. When other contractors made a bid that misssed what I could see, I felt sure that they were either inattentive (not a good sign) or lowballing the bid--knowing it would cost more after they *found* more problems (worse). The crew showed up promptly on Monday morning and set about pressure washing house and fence. They were polite and considerate. Still more rot was uncovered, especially at the top of the chimney. The problems around the garage were indeed more extensive and required some special carpentry. Each of these problems was pointed out as it was uncovered and we signed off on the added expense, choosing again to go with the more expensive Azec wherever possible to avoid future rot. Based on what was found I imagine we would have payed at least 50% more than the bid had we chosen another contractor. The ultimate costs might have been even more and I would have been seriously displeased. Could we have gotten by with a less expensive job--sure. We could have just replaced the rotted wood with more wood, but what we wanted was not the least expensive but the best job for the money. We didn't want to have to replace more rotted wood in a couple of years.After the crew finished (three long days) Aaron did a walk around to check things and found a couple of items that he felt were not good enough including some cleanup. He called a workman back immediately to take care of them. End of day Wednesday: the house looks great and we feel confident that we have a quality job at a reasonable price.

Brogan painting had done my house exterior last summer and did a wonderful job. This summer, I found a "bubble" on the garage door frame. Although several pieces of the wood frame had been replaced last summer, this one must have been missed or "just showed up." Although it took a few phone calls for him to respond, he did the work in the same professional manner. There was some touch up painting to do and once I left the paint out for him, it was done perfectly. He is a pleasure to work with.

I have hired many painters in the past for a variety of jobs but Aaron Brogan tops the list for the most professional I have ever dealt with. Although my job was relatively small, Aaron and his team were extremely prompt, highly professional and did an exceptional job. I would highly recommend them to anyone and they will be my first choice for any painting job we have in the future!

Made my walls and trim look like new. I've even had other painters comment that the trim work was done well. Will definitely use them again.

Spoke with owner via phone regarding previous painting bid and requested a new bid for deck clean and refinnishing. Never heard another word from the company. Business must be so good he can walk away from a $4000 job.
