Mike and his crew were excellent. We noticed the leak in the master bedroom on Sunday evening. Mike came out that evening to look at the situation and prescribed some immediate relief and indicated he would be back when the ice melted. We set up a schedule and he was their with his team as expected. We had to reschedule because the outside temperature was not where it needed to be to start their work. he came back when he said he would and his team was very careful with their remediation work and did an excellent job of cleaning up after themselves. Very professional and easy to work with. Very practical and thorough.

We had two incidents of water in our basement in the past two years, one from a burst water pipe, another from a sump pump malfunction. We personally handled the immediate problem in both incidents. However, several months after the sump pump had thrown water into the basement, I started experiencing health problems: a lot of phlegm, an uncontrollable cough and laryngitis. Mold became suspect. We called a couple of companies to inspect the basement and get bids. The first company used scare tactics and submitted a very expensive bid. The second company was Certified Water and Mold Restoration. They were outstanding in every respect. Kent was the one who responded to my request for an inspection and a bid. He was professional, thorough, reasonable, but above all was most kind and generous in responding to my health needs. At his initial visit (the inspection) before we had agreed to a contract, he called one of his men to come out to setup a plastic sheeting barrier between the basement and main living area and install a HEPA vacuum (an air scrubbing machine) to reduce my exposure to the mold spores. He said if we didn't choose his company to do the work, he'd return to retrieve his equipment, and there would be no charge. How often does one experience kindness to that degree in a business dealing? Needless to say, I was most impressed. Kent supervised all the work done in the basement which included removing and hauling off years of pack-rat storage, removing paneling and baseboards, cutting out drywall, installing new drywall, re-installing the paneling/baseboards, sanding rafters, and cleaning up after themselves. They also cleaned the duct work in the house and retested the air quality in the basement and upstairs demonstrating a full return to normal. They are a top-notch business in every respect, professionally and personally! I highly recommend them.

Mike and his company went above and beyond in providing excellent service, professionalism, superior workmanship, and extremely reasonable pricing. Mike went out of his way to make sure his crew came to my house a.s.a.p. initially and on follow-ups to remedy the mold problem that was causing my granddaughter to become very ill to the point of her Dr.'s planning to admit her to the hospital. They completely removed the mold from our home, and my granddaughter is doing much better now. We are so grateful for their prompt, professional, very caring service! Mike Martin and his team with Certified Water & Mold Restoration", performed an extremely efficient, thorough, and professional job in the removal of a mild to medium case of mold. On 12/9/13, the team tested for a visibly mild case of mold. The test concluded an "elevated" situation...one which required about 400 sq. feet of drywall removal, and an air "scrubbing" machine to remove the mold spores. After the disposal of the drywall, and allowing a 48 hour scrubbing of the air, another test was performed resulting in a "not elevated" condition. This removal was a time sensitive situation--city required a mold test prior to a new tenant inhabiting. Mike and his team were mindful of this, and performed their job in the most responsive manner we could have expected. Moreover, the cost was more than equitable...performed two (2) tests, and had two (2) team members working two (2) full days. Mike's integrity and sense of fairness were exemplary. These type of contractors are difficult to find. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism. .

I called Certified Water and Mold Restoration on a Saturday morning around 7:00 AM after we received a sky high bid from another company. Mike (owner) called back within 15 minutes and offered to come out the same day to look at the job! We were in a predicament because we had purchased this house and were running out of time in our apartment lease and could not afford the $8000 bid from the other company. We had settled to try and do it ourself due to the cost from the other company but I wanted to get one more opinion before taking a huge risk of doing it on our own. Mike came out at the time he promised and calmly took his time walking through the house with me and my sister and assessed the issue. After spending over an hour with us he came back with the bid of $4000. HALF the price of the other company while performing the EXACT same services. We were so appreciative and excited to have and affordable bid. My wife and I were nearly at the point of wanting to sell the home until Mike came back with his plan and bid. He made us feel good about the situation and not overwhelmed from the "scary" talk the other company gave us. Mike had a very sensicle approach that made my family feel at ease and that everything would be ok. He NEVER used scare tactics like the other company. Kent, Mike's right hand man, handled the job after it started. He was extremely helpful, knowledgable and never made us feel rushed or out of line for asking detailed questions... sometimes multiple times per day. Mike, Kent and the rest of Mike's team seem to be very cohesive which lends to a great attitude from Mike's team. After the mold was remediated and I walked into the areas they hit I was shocked by how clean everything was! They literally cleaned the window frames and screens from a vaulted ceiling roof skylight that was in our master bath. I don't even need to hire clenaers anymore except to dust after the new sheetrock is installed! The basement smells clean and looks amazing as well. Everywhere they touched the mold is remediated and the entire house smells clean again. We even got a contact for a Stucco company from Mike... they are starting that job in the next few weeks. Mike and his team were always responsive, called us back and answered our questions. Thank you Mike and your team! We would absolutely use Certified Water and Mold Restoration if we ever needed to and would recommend them to anyone!

Mike was great. I had a panic tenant who smelled mold after a week of on/off water leakage that was visible in the garage but no one could ever found where the leak came from. I've called Mike in a panic as I understood mold in a jp,e is a very serious issue and last thing I want is to have anyone harm from it. Talked to Mike in the morning and he showed in that same afternoon. I've meet him and the tenant at the property, Mike was very good at communicating and comforting my tenants that the mold was not bad and he'll be able to send out a team soon. The next day (Friday), he scheduled a team to come out on Monday. The crew were very good, they gone in to the bathroom and start to rip out walls and all the infested area; they also told me that it was isolated. So that comfort both tenants and I. They also done more than what the estimates stated and Mike kept to his estimate and invoiced me the estimated amount. Overall, Mike was very efficient and easy to work with and he'll try to get you fix up as soon as his crew schedule is available. I do wish that I remember to use the $50 off coupon.

I called on a Friday afternoon after discovering mold on drywall in the basement of a family members home. They promptly scheduled for Mike Martin to come the next day (a Saturday) to inspect. Mike was on time, professional and courteous, putting my family member at ease. He provided an explanation of what he found and how they would take care of it. He gave us a verbal estimate for the cost and then followed up with a written one by email. Not only was all necessary work done timely and as promised , they also agreed to remove the remaining drywall and studded walls which were unaffected by the mold for a minimal additional cost. The technicians arrived on time as scheduled, were very polite and accommodating throughout the entire process and were very thorough in completing the job. Mike stopped in several times to check on the progress which was impressive to me since the location of this home was most certainly out of his way. To say I was impressed and pleased with our experience with Mike and his crew would be an understatement. Although I do not wish to have to use such services again (who wants to deal with mold), I would not hesitate calling them in the future if need be and will most definitely recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone in need of such service.

I called four companies that I located here on Angie's List. All the quotes were about the same to do 2 air sample tests for a mortgage refinance. This company, however, had a $50 off coupon, so I went with them. The technican who came out (I think his name was Mike) was on time. Explained exactly what he would be doing and why. Although he didn't have to, he also took a look at the area of the basement that was wet. He said there were signs of old mold, but nothing active. He told me how I could get rid of the old mold and made a suggestion on what to do to prevent any new mold. He said the air sample report would be faxed to my lender and myself by the following Monday, which it was. Thanks!

It went extremely smoothly. I called for a quote on August 20 and they asked what time was convenient for me. Mike and Ken came the same day at the time I requested at the end of the day. They were on time. They spent about 45 minutes at my house leaving at 5:00 pm. I had a very detailed quote by 10:00 pm that night even though I told them a couple of days would be fine. They scheduled the work on the 2 days I requested about 3 weeks out. Four workers and Ken showed up on time both days. They emptied the contents of my basement into a dumspter they provided. This included carpet, pad and tack strips. They took out some of the ceiling that was water damaged. They cut out paneling that was water damaged and dismantled and removed built in cabinets. There was a lot of stuff in my basement as well that they removed. Mike and Ken both stopped by to check on progresss several times. They wiped down everything with the mold cleaner. They left air scrubbers for 4 days which was 2 days after the mold remdiation. They made an appointment that was convenient for me to pick up the air scrubbers and take a sample. They arrived on time. On the second day the ducts were cleaned. It looked like Anthony did a very thorough job including cleaning the vent covers and moving furniture. I was surprised and pleased that the entire operation went so smoothly. I was very comfortable with Sam, Gary, Anthony, Jimmy and the other guys that were at my house for 2 full days. They went above and beyond what they had to do. They were very understanding about the need to manage my cats while they were in my house for the ducts. I asked them if they could carry my new dehumidifier down the stairs for me and they set it up and had it running. I was not sure if the price I received on the emailed estimate was a firm quote or an estimate. Mike had detailed all of the work related to the mold remediation and then gave me an estimate for the ducts since we had not counted the number of vents and returns. The mold work was exactly the price quoted and the ducts were less than the estimate. I highly recommend this company!

This is an excellent company. They provided all needed equipment and returned on several occasions to monitor the progress. The crew was courteous, prompt and very easy to work with.

They seemed very knowledgeable in their work. There was several people from the company that came out doing all the different types of jobs that needed done. They removed carpet, removed the padding, removed sheet rock and put new sheet rock back up and painted and they also did an air quality check that got sent to a lab. All of these things are required by law to be done when there is mold found and they were very helpful in getting all that work lined up and completed for me.

They were quick and communicated about what would happen throughout the entire process. Professional and helpful.

Although I did not need his services, he did advise me of help he could offer after the plumbing problem was resolved with drywall repair. I appreciated this. I recently purchased a very old home, which at one time, had an upstairs master bedroom and bath added. The master bath had a small 2 ft x 3 ft skylight installed (which may or may not have been a great idea). Fast forward to shortly after I closed on the property, I noticed that the drywall adjacent to the skylight, particularly on one side, was sagging a bit/losing it's integrity. I figured it was just settling and losing composure from the heat (old house, upstairs feels like He** during the day), and I had other projects going on with the property, so I just kept an eye on it. As you know, Johnson County experienced some heavy rains this summer, and as time progressed, the drywall gained more and more of a bend to it, until one morning water started trickling through. I jumped on Angie's list and sent out some emails and phone calls, per usual . . . drywall wasn't something I was interested in tackling myself. Mike at CW&M was the first to get back to me that very day, and they agreed to come out to look at things. Mike showed up, took a look at the situation, and confirmed that the skylight was likely leaking. He said they'd be able to go in, remediate the mold, assess the damage, and if all was *perfect*, close it back up with new insulation, drywall, mudding, and paint for $900. He also gave me a quote for fully remediating the stone basement and applying fresh anti-mold paint for $1250, which is a steal because the basement is HUGE. Didn't do the basement (yet), but away we went with the skylight situation. Mike and his team member came the NEXT DAY and had the drywall removed and mold remediated in a mere 4 hours. They left their air scrubber/HEPA vac overnight for good measure. The great part was that the mold wasn't too extensive, and the roof decking, beams, etc. were in good shape (just old, no rot). That evening after work, I got to thinking about how I didn't want to do this again, and maybe I should just take out the skylight. We had it blocked due to heat anyway, and if it was just going to be a recurring source of moisture, why not take it out? I left a voicemail with Mike after business hours, and a short while later he texted me with the name and number of a single-party that could take out the skylight, as CW&M doesn't do huge modifications, just restores things to their original state. I called the single-party, and he agreed to come out the next day to look at the situation, and said that I was right in wanting to remove the skylight (he sees over 400 skylight-related issues per year in the greater KC area). I've written a separate review for the skylight person (excellent). Long story short: the skylight was removed and the roof was patched, sealed, and re-shingled in just ONE day for only $250. Once the roof was patched, CW&M was out the very next day to put up new drywall and tape. The next day they mudded, and on the following Monday they sanded and painted. I had the paint matched at Home Depot with their spectrophotometer, and it looks amazingly seamless. So far, so good. No water coming in, and a solid insulated piece of ceiling to shield the sun. You can't even tell the skylight was there! Very satisfied, considering all of this mess was over in just one week.

I own a shopping center in Missouri and one of my tenants moved out and left the 6,000 sf space a total disaster area. The hot water heater leaked (tenant did not report the problem) and while the space sat vacant for several weeks, a thick layer of mold grew practically everywhere. The wood floors buckled, the carpet was destroyed and drywall had to be removed. Mike and Kent made sure that they only tore out what was necessary and cleaned up the rest. They were extremely efficient in getting me a bid and doing the work. There is no doubt that they know what they are doing! Highly recommend them.

I was selling a house and mold was found during the inspection. The buyer wanted a substantial discount on the price of the house. I wanted to get my own inspection and estimate, so I used Angie's List and selected the top 2 rated mold remediation companies. I called both on a Friday night, but Mike Martin was the only one to respond that evening. We made an appointment for Saturday morning and he was early! Mike conducted an inspection of the home and explained that indeed there was evidence of mold. This was plain to see in a at least one closet which was empty after the move. Mike also explained what would be required and agreed to provide an estimate, which was a good value based on what the buyer wanted as a discount. However, that very night the buyer made another offer essentially taking over all responsibility for the home and we agreed to the contract. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend CWM as a potential contractor for water or mold remediation services.

Mike arrived punctually and looked at the attic. He was knowledgeable and gave us useful information about the mold and the recommended treatment to eradicate the mold in the attic. His quote was reasonable and we will probably pursue treatment after the roof is replaced.

The crew was punctual, friendly and thorough in the work they did over multiple days. Air sample tests were taken in the living room both before and after the basement cleaning took place. Because the results were still not as low as Mike would have liked, he completed the extra work in the living room at no extra cost, beyond his original estimate for services he could provide. I chose to communicate with Mike primarily via email. This was a good method for me to ask questions and for Mike to share updates on what was happening, as well as get the air sample test results. Communication through the entire process was very good and timely. A dumpster was brought out for the crew to use in the basement cleanup efforts. Mike had the dumpster delivered early, which allowed us to use it as we did some initial prep work before the team came out. He even offered to pay a $25 fee that the City of Gladstone was requesting because of the dumpster.

It went ok. Their price was 6 times higher than another company.

Mike was exceptional. He was quick to respond, very thorough in explaining what needed to be done and went above and beyond to make sure it was taken care of. We feel very good about our choice to go with this company and would use them again in a heartbeat.

After flash flood conditions on May 31, 2013, I contacted a national water restoration company. They were basically non-responsive and did not communicate with me. I decided that I would try someone else and after looking at reviews from Angie's list I decided to call Certified Water & Mold Restoration LLC. Someone was there the same day and work to restore my basement and garage started the next day. Throughout the process they were professional and communicated with me. They were awesome.

This is a top notch outfit. Mike Martin and his crew were responsive, professional, strong communicators, courteous, patient, and dependable. I do not possess enough good words to say about this contractor.
