The biggest mistake I made when my basement was flooded is that I did not call Mike Martin right away. He is very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, caring about his work and his client. He took care of my property as if it was his own. He and his team took care of the situation and gave me peace of mind. He also held his work to higher standard. Even after the test came back passed, he still went back to do more cleaning so that he can feel comfortable with the results. I wish all contractors out there are like him. Thank you, Mike.

I have huge praise for Mike & the Certified Water & Mold Restoration team. Very professional, prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, - a true 'above and beyond' business in a world where we rarely see that. I woke up to a flooded basement (finished) on 5/20/2013 after heavy rains that night. Having never had a flooded basement in the 9 years I've lived in this house, I didn't know where to start. I went to Angie's List and saw the recommendations on Certified Water & Mold restoration and called them first. I promptly received a call back from Mike Martin, the owner. Mike came by later that same morning to assess the situation. From there, he got the equipment in place and the drying started the same day. Not only was Mike's water restoration team very professional, his contractors for the drywall repair and carpet replacement were equally impressive. Each of them communicated with me well about the plan and scheduling, and were very attentive to detail. I would have ended the review with the above, but in the heavy storms of 6/15 my basement flooded again (this time through the window). I texted Mike and he was able to be on-site within just a couple of hours - even though it was a Saturday night. Mike got all the fans set up and restarted the drying process. He came by this morning (6/17) to check on it and it was all dry. I credit the quick drying with Mike's experienced knowledge of where strategically to place the fans for the highest effectiveness. Overall, while I hope no one has to deal with a flooded basement, If you ever do have that happen I would highly recommend Certified Water & Mold Restoration.

They were over at our home 30 minutes after we called late on a Saturday evening. After assessing the whole situation and telling us everything they needed to do, they quickly began work. Kent and Mike were both very friendly and easy to talk to about a tough situation. It put our minds at ease knowing that they knew what they were doing. Kent worked tirelessly and finished a big job in a short amount of time. The job was completed with excellence well before we expected. We feel like the work done by Kent and Mike was high quality and done with integrity. We would recommend them to our friends.

Overall, great experience. It took some time to complete due to their scheduling issues, but when they *were* at the house, the work they did was quick and efficient. The first time they arrived they were very late, but they bought me lunch which was nice. They also stapled a tarp to a valley in my roof per my request, without any additional charge. On the first day of restoration, I wasn't at the house and when I returned I noticed a number of things: my stereo which had been unplugged and was sitting with boxes ready for moving had been plugged back in, and a deactivated cell phone had been powered on. They apologized and there were no further incidents of that nature, and when the job was completed the restoration work looked amazing. I dare say the areas that were previously undamaged (due to the water leak and mold) looked better afterward. The paint job was great, thankfully I still had the original paint.

From the time they first came out to look at the damage until the job was complete I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I noticed water in our finished basement during a rain storm so immediately called both a plumber and water restoration. They arrived at the same time within the hour. Certified water and Mold Restoration evaluated the damage, gave me an estimate and began work to air out the basement immediately. We didn't even have to replace the carpet. Great experience and highly recommened

My basement has been flooding for years which has caused some serious damage as well as mold build up. I called these guys and got a quote quickly. They were so punctual and courteous to my wife and me which is always a good thing! I could tell they really knew what they were talking about and showed me mold I didn't even know I had. My basement is now water and mold free and was done way cheaper than what another company quoted me.

The process involved isolating the affected area, removing sheetrock, applying an "air scrubber" to remove mold spores from the air, also a green type chemical was applied to treat the adjacent area, and I know cleanup involved hepa filters. A lot of care was involved in removing the contaminated material. It gives us peace of mind knowing the care and concern applied to solve this problem. This is a simplification of the actual procedure but the main thing is that our house is safe now and we can all breathe easy, literally.

The workers at this company were very friendly and very conscientious about making sure we were kept up-to-date on the progress of the mold removal. The work was completed on time and on budget. Once the mold was removed we were breathing better.

We were clearing out old junk in the basement of our 100 year old home and discovered A LOT of mold growing on the walls of the foundation in our basement. I had to get it taken care of quick, because our appraisal was going to happen the next week. After looking through reviews, I decided to call Mike Martin at Certified Water and Mold Restoration, and we are so thankful that we did. He came out to inspect our basement on the same day that I called him, and went through step by step what the process would be. Mike and his team came by that same week to do the job. All of the guys were very friendly and told me they would have the job done in 4 hours. 3 hours later they were finished with the job. They gave me a tour of all the work they had done to let me inspect the quality, and I hardly recognized my basement. They not only removed the mold and cleaned the walls, but they even painted over the walls with white paint. Our basement always looked dark, dreary and old, and now it looks bright and so much cleaner. Mike explained that the room needed to be HEPA vac'd to remove any mold spore particles that may have been stirred up during the removal process, so they left their industrial sized HEPA vacuum on in the basement overnight to clean the air, and then came back to pick it up the next morning. The basement now smells better, looks better, and our appraisal went amazingly. The appraiser never even suspected that we had a mold issue only a few days before he came to inspect! The price of the job was very reasonable, and the customer service was superb. I definitely recommend this company to anyone needing mold remediation! I cannot imagine any company better to work with. We would hire them again in a heart beat. We had several companies give us bids and Certified Water & Mold Restoration had the most thorough testing equipment to identify the affected area. Their quote was very competitive, coming in significantly lower than two of their competitors. Mike gave us his emailed bid at 5:00 pm on 3/12, we compared it with the others and approved it immediately, and Kent and his crew had the job completed the very next day! In addition to quality and value, what sets Certified Water & Mold Restoration apart from other A rated companies is the owner Mike Martin. Mike makes it easy to do business with him. He gives a senior discount, he has a discount for Angie's list customers, and he offers financing as well. Why would you go anywhere else? It doesn't get any better than that!

My husband and I have been smelling something around the outside of our house and in our basement. To me, it smelled very musty and like mold. I was concerned b/c my husband and I both have allergies, however, his have been getting worse and he's had some new symptoms. We were also told by a contractor that his allergies "picked up" mold in our house. I had no idea where to start researching mold problems and thought of Angie's List. Researching this problem was new territory and was the final deciding factor in joining Angie's List. Once I joined, I read multiple reviews and felt this company seemed like a good one, based on feedback. My husband called a rep on a Friday at around 5pm and spoke with a staff person right then. That person was in NY I think working with victims from "Storm Sandy". He gave us the name of a coworker. That person called us back the next day - a Saturday in the morning. He then came out on Saturday to look at our house. He returned on Sunday to take the mold tests. The rep explained things fully, was fast and efficient. We had a total of four tests run, each one has a cost - we are not sure what is comparable really but the total sounded okay to us. He told us the report would be emailed by Wednesday and sure enough, we received it on Wednesday - very fast we felt. We feel even more lucky the test read negative for any significant levels of mold. All around, this was a very positive experience.

Mold was found during inspection for a house we have for sale. I called Certified Water and Mold and met Kent for an estimate for mold mitigation the same day. Their estimate was a lot more reasonable than the one buyer sent. They came the next week on time and did a great job.
