Description of Work: Hired them to put an outlet in concrete floor and run power to center of basement for electronics. They cut a trench in the floor and months later when I had the space finished and went to hook up electronics, my contractor informed me they had not run any power at all, simply stuck an empty tube through the floor. They came back and did what they were paid to do (under the supervision of my contractor.) I would not trust this company to screw in a lightbulb.

Description of Work: Way too expensive for the work involved. I had lost power to my computer (and phone) on a Friday afternoon. Turned out all I needed was a new breaker installed. I had to rely on Yellow Pages for a repairman since I could not search Angie's List. I will not call on this company again totally because of the pricing.

Description of Work: Installed new circuit to support the installation of new outlets in our finished basement on a stone foundation. Installed new can lighting between the joists in the ceiling. Couldn't be happier with the results. I thought I knew what I wanted but he value added engineered it and made it look...well cool. The final price was less than his original quote. Very happy and will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I called Scott The Electrician while I was out of town to fix a smoke detector problem. My neighbor called me to tell me the alarms in my house were going off and could be heard from outside my house. Just to summarize, the guy who was sent out had no clue what he was doing and clearly was not an electricican and didnt even have a ladder tall enough to reach the smoke detectors on a 9' ceiling. I asked him to check the wiring on one specific smoke detector which i believed was causing the malfunction of all the smoke alarms in the house. He told me he did check it and it was fine, and he isolated the bad one which he replaced. No sooner did he pull out of the driveway- smoke alarm malfunction again. My neighbor called me again to tell me the alarms were going off. I called the technician back and told him to come back and asked if he had checked the wiring on the smoke detector like I had asked. He said he did but later callled to confirm this was the problem. He wanted to charge me another "call out" fee for having to come back again, which I refused. NO way I would ever use this company again.

+ -1 moreTHEY INSTALLED A BREAKER BOX AND 220 OUTLET FOR OUR DRYER LATE IN 2003, BUT WE'VE HAD SO MANY REPAIRS TO OUR DRYER, I REQUESTED THAT THEY COME OVER AND CHECK THE OUTLET. THEY NOT ONLY DID SO, BUT DID NOT CHARGE ME. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL IN EVERY WAY.
Description of Work: THEY DOUBLE-CHECKED OUR 220 OUTLET AND BREAKER BOX TO SEE IF THERE WERE PROBLEMS RELATED TO AN INSTALLATION OVER A YEAR AGO.

Description of Work: I REQUESTED A QUOTE ON INSTALLING AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR SYSTEM AT MY HOUSE. ALSO A SUB-PANEL WITH FURNACE, REFRIGERATOR & SOME ELECTRICAL OUTLETS. THE SUB PANEL WOULD BE SWITCHED BETWEEN KCPL POWER & A GENERATOR OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.

I DIDN'T REALIZE UNTIL AFTER THE FACT THAT THEY TOOK THE OLD FIXTURE. I CALLED TO REQUEST IT'S RETURN, AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE BROUGHT BACK TO ME. AFTER SEVERAL MORE CALLS, THEY TOLD ME IT HAD BEEN THROWN OUT. I'M EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THIS EXPERIENCE.

QUESTIONS I HAD WERE NOT ANSWERED ADEQUATELY, SO I CALLED THE MANAGER A COUPLE DAYS LATER. THE MANAGER WAS APOLOGETIC AND MADE THE REPAIRS IMMEDIATELY, BUT MY EXPERIENCE WITH ONE OF THE ELECTRICIANS WAS NOT VERY POSITIVE, UNFORTUNATELY.
Description of Work: WE HAD NUMEROUS MAJOR AND MINOR ELECTRICAL JOBS DONE TO OUR 80-YEAR-OLD HOUSE ON THE SAME DAY.

+ -1 moreTHE ELECTRICIAN WHO PERFORMED THE REPAIR WAS HIGHLY QUALIFIED. HE WAS ON TIME AND ASKED APPROPRIATE QUESTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING THE REPAIR. THE REPAIR TOOK LONGER THAN ESTIMATED, BUT HE BILLED US ONLY FOR THE ESTIMATED PRICE. I WOULD USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. THE COMPANY WAS A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH FROM THE INITIAL CALL FOR SERVICE UNTIL THE JOB WAS COMPLETED. IN ADDITION, I RECEIVED A FOLLOW-UP CARD THANKING ME FOR THE BUSINESS. THEY HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF WHAT IT TAKES TO SATISFY A CUSTOMER, AND IF MY EXPERIENCE WAS NORMAL, THEY FAR EXCEED ORDINARY EXPECTATIONS.
Description of Work: REPAIRED A 3-WAY SWITCH THAT HAD BEEN IMPROPERLY WIRED. HE TOOK ADDITIONAL TIME TO TRACK DOWN THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AND TOOK PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE TO COMPLETE THE JOB.

+ -1 moreI HAVE NEVER HAD A SERVICE CALL AS PROMPT AS THIS ONE. AN ELECTRICIAN WAS AVAILABLE WITHIN ABOUT 30 MINUTES. THEY PROVIDED A PRICE OUT OF A MENU OF ITEMS (THIS WAS GREAT). UNFORTUNATELY, IT SEEMED A LITTLE EXPENSIVE FOR TWO HOURS OF WORK (NOT SO GREAT), BUT THIS WORK ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE EXPENSIVE. I AM HAPPY WITH THE JOB, BUT WISH THE ELECTRICIAN WOULD HAVE CLEANED UP THE MESS HE LEFT. SO I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM IF YOU DON'T MIND PAYING A LITTLE MORE AND CLEANING UP AFTER THEM (BUT GETTING A GOOD JOB DONE).
