Description of Work: My central air conditioner did not work when I turned it on at the beginning of the summer season - on the first day of mid-90 degree weather with high humidity. I called 3 companies. One came immediately but told me before coming that he would be short on time. He barely looked at my equipment; gave me a quick bid; left and did not follow up with me. Another would not be able to come out for a couple of days (and I was leaving the next day for a week-long vacation!). I spoke to the owner of Top Notch after looking on Angie's List and seeing good ratings for the company. The owner was very impressive. He told me they would be able to come out and look right away, but he was not certain how long it would take to get an installer out because they were extremely busy at the beginning of the season. He then called, after the guy came out to determine my needs, and told me all they could do from a short term fix to replacing the system. I trusted him so much that I left town the next day after telling him that I wanted them to do the work, and had no idea when they would come. His front desk girl was fantastic, and she worked some sort of magic/rearranged appointments and was able to get someone out to install before I got back in town (and back to the overwhelming heat and humidity!). My daughter went over and stayed for a couple of hours until I told her I trusted the company enough to feel confident that they would only hire professional, competent and honest installers. I came home the day after the installation to a cool house. The owner made a follow-up call to ensure everything was okay and even left a gift for me on my front porch. Each time HVAC comes up in conversation, I tell them about Top Notch because they were (sorry, I can't resist!) Top Notch!
