Top Notch Heating Cooling & Plumbing

Let me start out by saying that Sean the service tech was awesome! When he arrived he inspected the A/C blower and cleaned up all the water that had defrosted and then proceeded to check all the electrical contacts to made sure they were properly dried and still worked. He then went out doors and cleaned up A/C unit and added additional freon as it was low. I appreciate that Sean was extremely professional and refreshingly honest about the service he performed and charged me a very fair price unlike some others i have used in past . i will definitely use Top Notch again for all my heating and cooling needs.

I called top notch because we had used them several times before, both for my own properties, my clients, ( I do remodeling), and my Mothers as well. They have always been very reasonable, and prompt. My husband called me, and told me our hot water heater was out, and I immediately called Top Notch. The technician came before I got home, and said the total would be 1225. When I got home, about 45 minutes later, I looked at the reviews on top notch, and saw that most hot water heater replacements were $600-850. Of course, I was not happy about the price we were quoted. The only thing supposedly extra on ours was an 85 valve, we needed. This was for a 40 gallon standard size, nothing special. the 79 trip charge was not waived, as it normally is, when you contract the work with someone. I think the 79 fee, is paid to top notch as a "referral " fee. The technician was very knowledgeable, but said he had no idea about the 600 water heaters, and he had never done one for that price ever. He told me he did not really work for top notch, just gets referrals from there. I was surprised, because it says right on the Angie's list page, no subs. I just do not see how there can be such a price difference. I'm sure the cost of the heater has to be close to the same price as everyone else pays the supplier, so it has to be the labor charge. It took about an hour overall to do the job. No one likes to know they paid the highest price for anything, and now I will never just assume top notch is reasonable, because they sub out the work, and you never know who you are going to get. I feel really bad, because I hate paying that high a price, and feel like I was taken advantage of. I am normally a shopper, and know where to get good deals. Even though the job Is done, professionally, I feel I was overcharged, by quite a bit. I would have liked to know my options, if there were other ones, we could have gotten cheaper, if not their labor is just too high. Update: their response is the work was not performed- BUT IT WAS---- and I have the copy of the check to prove it.

My AC went out during the heat wave. I got 5 quotes for a new system. Then I saw Top Notch's coupon on Angies's List for a new AC. I didn't go with that particular system but upgraded to a higher seer rating. Mike B. the owner was great to work with -- and I appreciate he didn't try to sell me a furnace because all I needed was an AC. Their price was way better than the other 5 quotes I got. I called on a Thursday afternoon, Mike was right out, his office admin helped schedule an install the next day. I understand they asked an existing client if they could wait to have a new system installed so they could get ours running because we have a baby in the house. Mark B. and Justin did an awesome job installing the system the next morning. These guys were working in extreme heat. They were quick, efficient and didn't make a mess. Mark answered all of my questions and explained some functions of my existing system I did not know about -- much appreciated! If your AC goes out during a heat wave, get some quotes and makes sure Top Notch is one of the companies you contact.

97 degrees and my AC wasn't working. Didn't call until 11 am, they were out by 2:30. My AC is ancient, but they've kept it going until the end of the summer, which is what I wanted, since the house is on the market.

It was ok. They had issues with scheduling but they did what they were suppose to do. Their services don’t include cleaning the return vents. They damaged some basement walls but they took money off the bill.

The tech did the Job , his name was Sean. I called the company and they quickly schedule the appointment. Sean was very knowledgeable and answered any question that I had. He identified by problem without wasting any time and told me that I need a new capacitor to be replaced. He replaced the capacitor and check the furnance and recomended replacing the filters reset the thermostat and completed the job. I was extremely Happy with the professionalism he showed. I appreciated the Job well done. Also cost for the replacement capacitor was $104 and I used Service call coupon that I got from Angies List for $39. The total cost to me was $143.

We use them now on a regular basis. They were great. They were wonderful. They come when they say they are coming. They were properly comparable to other people in the area.

Extremely prompt, professional, and worked with us even though we had to leave town. We called Top Notch after receiving incredibly poor service from another company. We received fair pricing for a good unit, and appreciated all the service received from sales, dispatch, billing, and installation.

We have an older system that stopped working all of a sudden (fan and everything). We called on Sunday, talked with a rep who was helpful, and decided to schedule on Monday to avoid the weekend charge. The dispatcher called us first thing in the morning Monday and got a technician here within a half hour. The technician found the problem (transformer) and fixed it without trying to sell us a new system. However, when I asked about the cost of a new system, he was very helpful in taking me through a quick run down of cost vs. efficiency. Also recharged the coolant.

Our house began warming up very quickly in the early evening hours and it became apparent something was wrong with our A/C. With high outdoor temp we wanted to get the issue taken care of quickly. We were concerned about reaching someone because it was already after 6 pm. Called several providers on Angie's List. Many did not have emergency services/didn't answer phone and one provider offered to see us in SIX days. Nope! We called Top Notch and their answering service picked up. Top Notch promptly called us back and they had a technician out at our home within an hour. AWESOME! Sean quickly and professionally diagnosed the problem and had cold air flowing in no time. Pricing seemed very fair and we were not gauged for the time of the call. What a breath of fresh air this company is! Absolutely will be calling on Top Notch for heating/cooling/plumbing in the future!

Top Notch's name says it all. Their service was A+ all the way down the line. I called Top Notch to have one of our 1994 AC systems looked at. It had not cooled well for the last couple of seasons. I picked out two highly-rated heating and cooling companies from Angie's List, and the first call I made was to the other company. I got an answering machine, left a message asking for a call back to set up an appointment for service. This call was made at 9:11 am on May 12th. Today is June 9th. They still haven't bothered to call me back. (I'll be leaving a separate review for them) In comparison, when I called Top Notch, someone answered the phone (!!!), and we set up an appointment. We received a phone call when the service tech, Tim Schembs, was on the way to our house. He was on time, put booties on at the door, and went right to work diagnosing the problem. When he finished, he presented my husband and I with choices - you can do A, B, or C. There was absolutely no hard sell or push to choose one over the other, although he answered all of our questions thoroughly as we debated what to do. In the end, we chose to have the system replaced with a new AC and furnace. The install for those happened a few days later and it went very smoothly, and we had the same great communication and customer service for that experience. Before posting this review, I asked my husband if he could think of one single negative thing he could say about the experience with Top Notch, and he said no, not a one. Neither can I. They have our business for years to come.

Great. They got someone out as soon as possible when my heater stopped working. The guys did a good job of installing and my new heater works great. Is very quiet. Plus, when one of the installers accidentally damaged my gutter with their truck, the company was very apologetic and promptly reimbursed me for the repair.

They were good and they did a great job. It was my first time to use them. They were quick and straight to the point. It was easy that he came, he called us back then; it was what it was. After awhile we have to change the A/C but he didn't try to sell into it; he just fixed it for us and that was cool. It took him an hour and a half to do the service. I can not complain; he is a cool guy.

I have used Top Notch for a couple of years for a rental property I own. They are always quick to respond, work well with contacting both me and my tenants, and perform good work.

The price was a little high but it was well worth it. Their professionalism, honesty, low sales pressure, and responsiveness was terrific. Tim did a great job for us and I was very impressed with his work and his professionalism. We look forward to working with Top Notch in the future.

I've used the List a number of times and have had services from a number of providers over the years but never written a review. I had to make an exception in this case. I was out of town on business late on a Sunday night when my wife called me frantic and told me our hot water heater failed and was shooting water out everywhere. She had to shut off the main water to the house because our heater did not have it's own shut off. This meant no water to the home for her and our 2 year old. Oh, did I mention we were getting our first major snow fall as well? So I'm out of town feeling helpless. Fast forward to the next day around noon to my wife is enjoying all the hot water she could ask for. After one call from a hotel in south Florida from me, Top Notch made it out in the snow first thing the next morning to help my family out. NOT ONLY THAT, which was an incredible, the price of 699 installed was basically what I would have paid for the heater itself from my dad who is in the wholesale heating and cooling business. The deal amazed him. The bottom line is that Top Notch saved me in many ways and every one in the company was a pleasure to work with. Thank you so much for your service Top Notch!

They performed the work promised at the quote given. They did a great job with the installation and have earned my trust with a quality job. They showed up on time for the job and I appreciate the communication between the guy that gave me the quote and the installers regarding what I wanted done.

We pay an annual fee for the contract of $200 for the year. They will come anytime day or night and or week day or weekend. They are very prompt with anything they are there for. They stand behind there repairs. If something doesn't work correctly they come right back out to fix it.

Fine, found a couple of issues and resolved.

I have been using them for years! They run their business very professionally.
