Thermal King Windows Inc

Took 3 times before we connected. First time they rescheduled, second time they forgot, but third time was the charm. Man who came out was very nice and new this product but he spent THREE HOURS at my home. I kept trying to speed him up but he wanted me to know about every bolt and nut. When his estimate came way over my budget, he then spent a lot of time selling and selling and selling. His pitch was uncomfortable. When the boss/supervisor/owner called to see how the appointment went, I told him that I was dismayed that the man spent three hours at my home. The boxx/supervisor/owner said "Well, did you learn a lot?" He seemed to have no concern that three hours was out of line. Their product may be good, but it's way more expensive than I can afford or than what I would ever want to pay.

I like the quality of their products. They seemed knowledgeable.

The whole project went exceptionally well and quick. I love the windows, we had 70 mph winds with dust a few days after completion and there was absolutly no dust on inside of windowsills. The screens are easily removable from the inside so in an emergency I could easily escape from any room in house. Since installation I had a bad blizzard with high winds and snow. The temperature got down to nine degrees above zero, throughout the storm my windows were warm on the inside, even as there was snow and ice on the screens. The new siding looks great and with the windows has cut my heating bill significantly. I wont know the percentage until spring, but my furnace doesn't run nearly as often, and house stays more uniformally warm in every room. I wish I had done all this years ago. Thermal King met or beat all of the local contractors I got estimates from, and I liked Thermal Kings windows better than any of the others.

Kent Robertson, the owner, checked my AC unit and determined the problem was with the fan mechanism. He needed to get the part and since it was late in the day, he said he would return the next day to install the electronic panel. He did so, and the AC unit worked well. He quickly diagnosed the problem and was very knowledgeable and professional.

On time. Very clean and neat. Jesse and DJ did an excellent job!

I've looked at many replacement windows, and these are by far the most quality product available. Sales staff was very professional and responsive; arrived on time, answered all questions, knew the product well. Installers were great! I office out of my house, and was working while they did the install. They went out of their way to accommodate me, keeping noise to a minimum, and keeping me updated on the progress of the install. Very good attention to detail on both finish and clean up. I highly recommend ThermalKing.

They had a cancellation and gave us 24 hour notice prior to arrival. They should have reminded me to have the windows clear and free for easy access. It was a rush clearing the way for the installers. I suggest that they DO give this advance notice. The istqllers found other issues that needed my attention and II am greatful that they advised me of my potential problems that required maintenance care.

Overall the windows got replaced and the man that came to install was clean and did a good job installing the windows by himself. But, the time quoted was not what it took to install the windows. It took double the amount of time to finish the install, and the price of the windows was a little high for the hassle that I had dealing with the whole process. When I decide the replace the remaining windows on the house. I think I will shop around a little more before deciding.

They were good. They were quick and did the cleaning as well. Out house is a molder house and they had to do all the lead precautions. They took some extra time but they did a good job. They spent a lot time to give demos and we just liked their products. They were more expensive than the other guys.

The work was pretty good and they put in about 10 windows. There were no problems with the quality. I would say that, if you have the money to spend, I would recommend them as they are expensive. They cut down on my heating cost. I will use them again in the future.

We requested a quote from Thermal King because of the recommendation of some of our friends who also purchased windows from the company. We were needing some windows replaced from a hailstorm, and wanted to stretch for something better than the builder-grade windows that were originally installed when the house was built, which were leaky and produced a ton of interior condensation. We see now why they recommended Thermal King, as our experience with the team was outstanding from start to finish, with the team going above and beyond to make sure not only our windows were installed correctly but also helped us negotiate replacement stucco on the front of the house with our insurance company (performed by an unaffiliated stucco company). This was a key advantage, as I wasn't aware our cladding needed replacing and could impact the integrity of the window installation if water was still penetrating through the existing, damaged cladding. Steve at Thermal King made an extra effort to press the need for stucco replacement with our insurance company and help get us the money for that, contact and arrange an unaffiliated stucco company to perform the work, and then work with them to be sure the window and stucco replacement timing was orchestrated. It's a good thing this happened, as when the cladding was torn off, there was a great deal of water damage behind, mostly a result of the old builder-grade windows leaking rather than the damaged cladding itself. This was all done with no extra trouble for myself, thanks to Steve's going beyond just the window replacement to be sure our house was taken care of as best as he could. I could imagine another company just taking our money, slapping in the new windows and moving on rather than taking our whole house's well-being into consideration. On to the salesman, who was polite, timely, and not overly pushy. For starters, we knew that both my wife and I as co-owners of the house needed to be present for the sales pitch, which we understood and had no problem with, especially on such a potentially large and home-altering purchase. Brad, the salesman, took us through the features of the window without dragging on, measured and drafted a quote, and allowed us plenty of breathing room to discuss. The price was a bit more than we expected, but we were able to work with Brad to negotiate that some. He was kind and courteous during the whole process, which we appreciated since I have a strong aversion to pushy sales. He of course worked to sell them, you have to expect that, but I never felt pressured. The quality and features of the window, the warranty, installation teams, and aforementioned care of our house beyond the windows are more than worth the cost. Once the windows were created and ready for installation, we had a fantastic team come out and install. They were incredibly professional, courteous, and thorough with their installation. They answered all my questions happily even while I asked in the middle of their work. They installed new trim at no additional cost, which was a material called Smart Trim, and pointed out to me (when I asked) the ways in which their installation process would prevent further leaks of water and air around the window installations; not only through the better quality of the window itself, but also through the details of the installation process. I appreciated this extra detail, as part of the prior windows' water damage came from poor installation. Again, worth the cost to be sure a stellar team installed the windows correctly, as that's a huge part of the product you purchase. A great window is no good if the installation team is shoddy and lets air and water penetrate around that window. Finally, Steve followed up to be sure everything went well with the installation and invited me to call if there were any issues. We are very happy with the entire process and are highly likely to use Thermal King again once we're ready to replace more windows. We can't wait til the summer to experience how well the windows will repel the afternoon sun that beat through the old double-pane windows and cooked all the rooms on the front of our house (the heat lamp demonstration the seller provides was a great way to see how much better the Thermal King windows perform in this situation).

They came out with the demo windows. We had 2 windows that leaked air. We bought 4 windows and within 2 months they installed them in one day. Never have had a problem with them except hail damage due to the metal wrapping. Had to get them replaced and then had to paint them.

I would use them again. They did a decent job.

I called to schedule an estimate for 16 replacement windows. The man I spoke with demanded to know my husband's name. I questioned why his name was needed and was informed that they do not make appointments without both home owners present. I told him if Thermal King could not provide an estimate to me without my husband's presence I would take my business elsewhere. I do not appreciate being treated this way. I will not be using their services. I have since learned that contractors requiring both homeowners be present at the time of estimate, is a tactic for a high pressure sale. A good reputable company will not require both homeowners be present for an estimate.

I did not end up choosing Thermal King, however I would recommend them. I chose another company that I hired to do siding replacement because they were able to give me a better deal, since they were doing the siding work as well. While I did not choose Thermal King, my Thermal King rep, Steve, went above and beyond in driving a very long distance to my house in the country -- twice, and even went so far as to let me view the Thermal King windows installed in his own home. He and the tech that measured my windows and provided the quote were very knowledgable and did not try to "over sell" me. I would recommend Thermal King to anyone that wants replacement windows.

I also had them out in spring to give me a quote for windows. I had them do some work for me at the other house. They charged me a lot for installing the door. We first placed an order and then they took several months for installing the door. They didn’t call me back and I had an argument with a guy who was installing. So there were all kinds of stuff. I think we got hooked up with them through one of the home shows when we wanted to replace windows this past spring. So a guy from the company came out and gave us a quote for the windows. However, the quote was more than double compared to another company that I had used which I had trusted. He also took a couple of weeks to get the quote to us and it was a written quote and it was the same sales guy who I had dealt with for the door. I wouldn’t use their again.

This was our second time using Thermal King. The sales process was pleasant, Brad was easy to work with and stayed w/in our budget. The first 5 windows we had installed (2009) we loved the crew. They took great care of us, cleaned up after themselves, even cleaned the new windows up. We requested the same crew for the next 5 windows (2010) - however we got someone else. The crew was pleasant, efficient, cleaned up- however, the new windows had smudges all over & the new window sills were not cleaned up. The windows in the bedroom were suppose to be bottom 1/2 obsecure glass but we got regular windows. They were prompt to correct the error however rather than replacing the entire window they only replaced the glass - leaving very small divits in our new window frames. Overall the experience was good and we will use Thermal King to replace the remaining windows in our home.

Their sales tactics are high pressure. Even when we called and complained about the sales pressure, they sent out a "Sales Manager" who was just as pushy. Because he was better than the other two reps we dealt with, we had him come back a third time for windows. This time he promised to fix some caulking that was not done properly to begin with. The windows took at least three months to install (this was our experience every time). The caulk repair was not done for almost 10 months. Quite frankly, the only reason they did it was that we called them back for a quote for our remaining 21 windows. The windows look good except for where Thermal King put a different kind of trim around a second pair of windows on the front of our house. The windows have been great. They have lowered our utility bills noticeably. When we called back for a quote in February, the "Sales Manager" told me he needed to go add up our quote. He never has gotten back to me. It has been two weeks. We are probably going to go with a different company. Thermal King salesmen look professional, but made us feel very uncomfortable. I never felt like I could trust anything they said. The "sales manager" told me too many stories when he was here last time. One story he told me, I felt was reflective of working with Thermal King. He said he sold a table using an online ad service. When the people showed up, they dropped money on his table and said they would come back for the table latter. The "salesman" said that he couldn't believe they didn't want anything in writing. He couldn't believe people would give him money and trust him without a written receipt. I felt that he was saying I should not trust him unless I had everything in writing. It was a weird conversation to have with a person who is selling you something. We spent around a thousand dollars for every window we purchased from Thermal King. We have only replaced 9 windows, but spent approximately $9000. After we purchased windows last spring, we got a sales call from a different salesman from Thermal King asking if we wanted to buy windows again. I told him that we had just purchased some windows from their company and he seemed very annoyed. I was confused by their call. We really like the windows, but my wife refuses to meet with their salesmen. I think we may choose a different company to finish our windows. It is a shame. We like their product, but we just don't know that we can trust them. I don't even know if they will call us back.

They did a good job. I liked the quality of the windows. They also did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves.

Went very well. Installer was polite, clean and efficient. Could have gone quicker if he had come with an assistant, but he managed very well solo. Very professional demeanor.

Overall we had a good experience with them. There were a few bumps during the project. When the sales man came out he told us one thing about the product and when the installation crew came out we found that wasn't quite accurate. We had a few heated exchanges with the company and in the end they went out of their way to resolve the problems. They admitted that they made a mistake, but we had to watch them pretty closely in order to get the results. We received estimates from several companies. Thermal King's prices were about the middle of the road, but we liked their product quite a bit more than other companies.

This was our second time using Thermal King and we couldn't be happier. Their salesman, measurer, and installation team were all courteous and arrived exactly on time (being on time is a big one for us). The installation team was first class, and took additional time to explain everything they were doing. They also took care to clean up and leave the inside and outside of the house as clean as they found it. We were especially pleased that the three custom measured windows fit perfectly into the work that our contractor did to the house while we were waiting for the windows to be manufactured. We've used other window companies in the past (before we found Angie's List) and were less than satisfied with the product and installation methods. With Thermal King, we've found a supplier we will stick with.

Thermal King was a real pleasure to work with. The sales person was exactly on time and was very professional. When we decided to purchase, the installer was also exactly on time, neat, thorough, and was also very professional. They sell a very high quality product and we realized an immediate improvement in our heating bill. When we are ready to do the rest of our windows we will use Thermal King without a doubt.

The service man stated that he would be here at 8:00 in the morning and then he said that he would have to reschedule and I almost had to fight with him over the phone to get him to honor his commitment. I tried to contact the company and they would not return my calls. The product is great, but the financing of the service has been problematic. The sales man called four months later and stated that he made a mistake which has taken too long to fix, he had to come out and I had to sign another contract and I have just received the first statement.

1/14/08, I went to their office/display room. The man there who said he wasn't a sales rep and couldn't give me an idea of the price of the windows we viewed, set up an appt. for a sales rep to come to the house (gave him address and zip code, etc.). I got a call last night from the sales rep who asked for the zip and then wanted to know know long we'd owned the house. I told him that information wasn't necessary and set up an appt. Just a few min. ago, another man called (Joe James) and he started by saying he had to have the zip. I cut him off short, telling him we'd already given that twice. He said but they had to have it again. Recognizing that this was a marketing ploy to get more info, I cancelled the appt. He wished me a "blessed day." I've done telemarketing and this approach stinks. They do NOT need to know if we own our house or how long. Nor do they need to be given the zip three times. I don't appreciate game playing.
