Description of Work: We had 1/2 of the windows replaced in our home. We also replaced the front and the back doors. The front door will not stay open. You have to put something in front of the door to keep it open. I have called and left messages for the service department and also have communicated with the sales rep by phone and emails. No one has ever contacted me to resolve this issue. This has been going on for over a year. I feel the Pella warranty for installation is worthless.

Description of Work: We had 3 windows and a front door installed a year earlier and everything was well done. In the spring a front door handle was becoming loose. When I called Phil the installer about it he was out the next day to fix it. There was no charge.

Description of Work: Everything that we have had done by Pella and Pella contractors has been top quality. Over the last 20 years we have had them install triple glazed windows with blinds between the glass and two doors. Of course, custom-made windows and doors are expensive, but we have had no problems that could not be resolved.

Description of Work: Replaced a sliding door. Pella did reschedule the install without emailing us which caused me to stay home from work on a day I didn't need to. When we did get our install times worked out the install went well. After two trips out to get the door handle installed we are very happy with the quality of the door.

Description of Work: They were to install 9 windows and the contractor they recommended was totally unreliable. Never showed up when expected. Not sure he knew his trade |We were forever getting the windows installed...days...and we still were not happy with the workmanship...would never use this business ever again! Even when we complained ...nothing much was remedied!

Description of Work: They installed windows in the front of our home. This was for eight windows very large windows in our home. The architecture is very contemporary as the windows look similar to church windows. They did do one back window for us as well. I want them to replace three windows with shades in between and they have quoted $7,000.00 for that. I did have an issue with the painters that they had for the windows after the installation. They chipped a stained railing in a loft area and they did chip other areas. We had to work with them to fix the issues on that. We had the work done because of a hail storm.

YOU CAN NEVER GET AHOLD OF A LIVE BODY WHEN YOU CALL WITH AN ISSUE AND NO ONE EVERY CALLS BACK. LAST WINTER MY TEENAGE SON DID ACCIDENTALLY BREAK A CRANK ON ONE OF HIS WINDOWS. OF COURSE THE GUY WHO COMES OUT TO LOOK AT IT DOESN'T HAVE THE PARTS. SIX WEEKS LATER ANOTHER GUY COMES TO DO THE REPAIRS AND FINDS THE WRONG PARTS HAVE BEEN ORDERED. HE MANAGED TO FIX IT BY USING OLD AND NEW PARTS. I HANDED HIM MY CHECK FOR THE REMAINING BALANCE OF $78. BY THIS TIME MY DIFFICULTIES WITH THEIR COMPANY ARE WELL DOCUMENTED AND HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO ''WRITE OFF'' THAT $78, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE WRONG PARTS WERE ORDERED FOR THIS LAST JOB. LO AND BEHOLD I GET AN INVOICE FOR THE $78 WHICH WAS THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK. I OFFERED TO SEE THE SERVICE MANAGER IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT. OF COURSE THEY ATE THE BALANCE. MY LAST COMMENT IS THAT IF I EVER WIN THE LOTTERY I WILL HAVE ALL MY PELLA WINDOWS REPLACED AND THESE SHIPPED TO THEIR SHOWROOM.
Description of Work: MY ISSUES WITH PELLA ARE CERTAINLY TOO NUMEROUS TO GET INTO IN ANY GREAT DETAIL BUT I WILL TRY TO SUMMARIZE AS BEST AS POSSIBLE. WE BOUGHT THIS HOUSE IN MARCH 2001 AND KNEW BY INSPECTION WE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS. I FIRST STARTED CALLING PELLA SERVICE CENTER IN NKC THAT SPRING. IT TOOK 2 YEARS TO FINALLY GET SOMEONE OUT HERE! MY HUSBAND FINALLY HAD TO LEAVE HIS JOB AND DRIVE TO THEIR OFFICES AND REFUSE TO LEAVE UNTIL SOMEONE HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME TO THE HOUSE. THE SHORT VERSION OF THE NEXT VERY LONG STORY IS THAT BY THIS TIME WE ARE REPLACING WINDOWS AND DOORS THAT HAVE WOOD ROT AND GOING THROUGH A CONTRACTOR. NOT ONLY WERE OUR ORIGINAL COMPLAINTS NEVER FULLY TAKEN CARE OF, BUT WE NOW HAVE A WHOLE SET OF NEW ONES. THE SIZES OF THE WINDOWS AND DOORS HAD CHANGED OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEARS AND I HAD TO HAVE EXTRA WORK DONE TO MAKE ALL REPLACEMENTS FIT. BECAUSE OUR CONTRACTOR WAS NOT CHARGING US AN UPCHARGE, PELLA COULDN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO JUST BILL US DIRECTLY

A SALESPERSON CAME TO ME, WAS VERY EASY TO WORK WITH. ONE OF OUR WINDOWS WAS DAMAGED IN DELIVERY AND IT WAS REPLACED VERY QUICKLY WITH NO HASSLES.
