The installers were excellent and we love the window, BUT....the salesperson was dishonest about the product we were purchasing, the installation date kept being delayed, and there was absolutely no follow-up from then salesperson prior to finally getting the product installed, no response to our complaint about the material the window frame was made of in contrast to what was sold, and no returned phone calls and inability to reach anyone until after we were so done with Pella, we didn't care. Pella products are quality, but expensive, but their customer service is non-existent. We are purchasing four additional windows currently and we are NOT purchasing them from Pella.

In spite of numerous requests to remove my cell phone number from their databases, Pella Windows and Doors, continues to harass me with nuisance, unwanted and unsolicited marketing calls and texts. In October 2009, we used a Pella rep for installation of some windows in our house. I did not give them my cell phone number. In December 2015, during a bathroom remodel, I gave the contractor my cell number. We did not use any Pella windows for this. In October 2017, while getting estimates for window install, we contacted the bathroom remodel contractor who came out with a Pella rep to give an estimate. I did not give my cell number to the Pella rep nor was I asked permission by my former bathroom remodel contractor to give Pella my cell number. But this is surely how they received it. I was not contacted by this Pella rep and chose a different window contractor for that current project. It is very obvious that Pella now had my cell phone number in their database. From 2009 to 2017 I never received any nuisance marketing calls or texts from Pella. In November 2017, I received a nuisance, unwanted, unsolicited marketing call and text on my cell phone. I drove to the Lenexa, KS office. I asked the clerk to remove my cell phone number from their data base. She went to her computer, then came back to me and said that she had done so. I thanked her and left. On September 28, 2018 I again received a text from Pella Marketing. I called the number back on my landline phone. I asked the man to remove my cell phone from their database. In what I can only describe as vindictiveness, the same person sent me another marketing text the next day! On October 9, 2018 I drove to the Lenexa, KS Pella office. I spoke to E.B. the Service Manager. He apologized for not having my cell phone number removed. He sent an e-mail to D. B. in this office, which I have a copy of, to “remove me from call/text list immediately”. Also, on October 9, 2018 I sent a letter to C.R. the Vice President of Marketing for Pella, in Pella, IA, explaining my frustration in continuing to get nuisance, unsolicited calls/texts from Pella and my meeting with E.B. at the Lenexa, KS location. I did not get a response. On December 13, 2019, unbelievably, I AGAIN received a nuisance, unsolicited voice mail and also a text from Pella. I have a copy of each one of these harassing text messages. So, on December 17, 2019 I again drove to the Pella, Lenexa, KS office for the 3rd time! I again spoke to E.B. the Service Manager. I explained that this was the 3rd time that I came into the office for a reasonable request that my cell phone number be removed from any and all databases. I again, explained that at no time did I ever give my cell phone number to any Pella representative. UPDATED AS OF 04/10/2020: Since November 2017, I have been trying to get this company to remove my cell phone number from their database. I never gave it to them to begin with. In spite of the assurances mentioned above (Nov. 2017, Oct. 9, 2018 with E.B the manager of this location, Dec. 13, 2019 with E.B. the manager of this location) it has still not been removed. I again received a nuisance solicitation call from this Pella store in Lenexa, KS on April 8, 2020! It is just galling that they are both so inept and dismissive about my reasonable request to remove my personal information!

I paid about close to $800 for a Pella double-paned picture frame window. A third party installer ordered it and installed it. The installer did a great job. The window itself came from Pella with a defect. There's an oily smudge on the inside of one of the panes of glass, impossible to get to and clean. Pella sold me a window that will look eternally dirty. My house has some crappy storm windows on it. For aesthetic reasons the old storm window was reinstalled in front of the new Pella window. Pella has agreed to replace the glass pack on the window: great. Pella's team will not remove the storm window in order to get to the window: not so great. This window and storm window are on a second story. I don't have the ladders or the help to do it myself. That means I'll have to absorb the cost of having a team come, take the storm window down so your team can change the glass pack. Then have that same team come back and put the storm window back up. Expensive, time consuming, infuriating. Their communication and scheduling is slow. They won't give me partial money back on the defective window and I will not be spending even more money in order to accommodate them in regards to having the storm window uninstalled and reinstalled. It's a write off. The window looks nice besides the defect. I will not be doing business with Pella ever again. There are cheaper alternatives for the same poor quality and customer service.

The initial sales process was great, not shocking right?! We were even ok waiting the over 2 months for the windows to be made and delivered. Then the issues started. The day before they came to do the install, we were called and told that 3 of them were on backorder. Ok, I can deal with that. I do feel we should have been told long before that but whatever. After a month, they called and left a message that the backordered windows were now in stock and that they would be out in 2 days to install. We happened to be out of town on business (we work!) and because we couldn't accommodate their schedule, we had to wait another month for a new date. The backordered windows were finally installed and this time they forgot the screens! So.. we schedule a date to install the screens... they never show up. After all the calls, many left unanswered, I called and lost my cool a little. Low and behold our screens will for sure be installed tomorrow. I have hopes that will actually happen and if not, I'll update this story. Whats sad is their product is amazing, and our windows are beautiful, but other companies also have beautiful windows that might have better service. We have 8 more and will be taking our business elsewhere!

The windows are nice, but some of them don't close completely. The installation was done improperly and some of the locks don't close completely. In addition, there was poor replacement of woodwork around the installed windows, leaving large gaps. There was also some damage to the walls around the replaced frames. Overall the installation was sloppy and unprofessional. I would rate them a D or lower, but the windows themselves are good.

It took several days to complete the job - not a problem. The front windows are very nice. The large casement windows look nice, but the locks do not work properly. The windows apparently do not line up with the locks, so the lock will not close all the way. That leaves the handle sticking out partially, and looks like the window is still open. The inside framing was not reinstalled well, leaving fairly large gaps. In the end, they did not take the time to do the job right, leaving me with sloppy looking and poorly functioning windows.

Terrible. Installers were late every day. A job scheduled for 3 days took two weeks to complete. (Even then, it was not "completed" as they ordered the wrong size insert for two of the Windows, and when they obtained the correct size, they were painted poorly. It took another month and a half after installation to get that corrected.). The installers left debris in my driveway, yard, and in my home. They cracked a window casing and performed a shoddy repair. They broke a vase and did not tell us. One installer cut his hand and bled throughout the house. The worst, however, was the customer service. When I called my senior sales consultant, Scott Marlow, to discuss the problems I was having he stated he would follow up and call me back. I never heard from him again, even when I left additional messages. I then called Devon Brady, the Sales Manager, to discuss the issues. Never returned my call. When I went to the location to discuss the matter, Mr. Brady "was not available" so I wrote out my concerns and asked him to call me back. To this day, I have never heard from him. If you research Pella products on line, they are rated high in terms of quality. However, there are alternatives. In the KC area, I would strongly discourage anyone from working with this company.

Total non-response from the local office.
Description of Work: We had windows and doors installed by Pella in 2009/2010. We have had an issue with the weatherstripping for the door. We have attempted to contact the local office however they are non-responsive. We have contacted the corporate office in Iowa who has indicated the product is covered by warranty and they have contacted the local office however we still have not gotten a response from them. The corporate office says they cannot do anything and that the local office need to respond.

Our home has several Pella Pro Line Insulshied windows. The windows are approximately 12 years old. About a year ago I noticed that the metal cladding was pulling away from the glass. This is a source of potential water infiltration. I contacted the local Pella office in Olathe and asked for a service tech to take a look at the windows. I finally spoke with Mark. He said it would be a $110 service call for someone to look at these defective windows. Lets see here, I have to pay Pella $110 to come out and look at their defective windows. I was quite upset. Mark then suggested I caulk this windows in an effort to prolong their like. He gave me instructions on how to do this. Thanks Mark! A better answer would be "We'll send some one out right away. We'll caulk and seal where we can and if the windows are beyond repair we'll give you a great price on the installation of new ones". Mark take this advice to your next staff meeting. At least stand behind your product. Bottom line is that these windows are defective and Pella should stand behind their product. I'm getting bids for some new windows. I'm not getting a bid from Pella. Their are many other great windows on the market.

My windows have been good since they came out. The quality of the windows is good. It's probably the worst, most unprofessional organization I've ever dealt with. They were supposed to have the install done in no more than three days and it took them over a month to do it. They didn't order the right parts. They subcontracted their workers, which they didn't explain to me when I signed the contract. So the workers showed up and asked me where the windows are and I felt like it wasn't my job to tell them where the windows were. The parts showed up the next day, but they weren't all here. This went on for a month. They couldn't finish it because they didn't have the parts. It took them four weeks to finish. Different people came out almost every time. Most of the subcontractors were very professional, but they were relying on Pella to make sure the parts were here, which they weren't. This went around and around and around. I didn't get some return phone calls when I was in the middle of this. I tried to call their office. I'd leave messages and wouldn't get return phone calls. They know they screwed up. Everybody screws up, but they should be more upfront about it. I would be more understanding if you talk to me and tell me what's going on. That left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Eventually one of the managers got back to me. I had left messages for the salesman who sold me the windows, but he couldn't answer my questions. He had no authority, because I was a little bit upset.

Well. The salesman Mr. Ryan, and the installer Mr. Lee were great. They did everything I ask. Next time I will request in writing that the exterior trim be replaced with new trim because new window replacement sizes are not the same as old windows. The installation sales manager appeared on site during the window measurements. This manager was polite but I ask that he not return or enter my property ever again, which the company did follow. This manager is a body builder and had severely limited knowledge of the window industry, worksite, management, and contracting. This manager should say in the gym not the work place or window industry.

Jim Cindrich of Pella-KC did an outstanding job in solving a problem with several of our Pella Pro-line casement windows. Jim was friendly and professional, and he went the extra mile to take care of the problem although he was not the original salesman. We were very happy with his solution and his service!

For the most part, it went pretty well. The window work has been just fine. There have been some issues with the door, especially the storm door. The windows worked out very well. There were 7 windows and it was $6,700. The door was about $3,000. It was a main entry door and a storm door. The installation went well and the windows have performed well. We've had to have a couple of callback visits concerning especially the storm door and once on the entry door also. We chose an expensive line. We got proposals from 3 places and Pella was actually second highest but only by a few dollars. We had other Pella windows so we went with them instead. The storm door is a third party but Pella installed it. They do what they say and they are going to do. They always set up an appointment and keep it. I would certainly use them again for windows and but I would think twice about doors.

We received very good support from Pella windows. We sold the house and we had a doubt on one of the windows and inquired about it with Pella windows. A guy came over and assured the buyers that the windows are all in good shape and nothing was wrong. There was no cost involved. They were very professional and did the job and explained everything what we needed to know and we were in good shape and we passed Pella on to the new buyers.

Windows are expensive. I didn't shop around. The quality of service was good. They were here on time and got in and out. It was a good experience. It was a really cold day. They moved pretty quickly and kept the inconvenience to a minimum.

The original install date, 8/26/14, the two exterior doors were installed & the back screen door. After installing the front door, it was noticed that the frame color was wrong, so I would have to wait to have it painted at a later date, which meant that they wouldn't install the front screen door until after it was painted. The next day, I received a call from Pella telling me that they had failed to install the security components to both of the exterior doors. They had to reschedule another day, which had to be another missed day of work, so they could take out & reinstall both doors! On 9/3/14, it was raining & they called & wanted to reschedule yet again. I refused & they came out & reinstalled the doors. When I came home, I noticed that two screws had been left out of the top hinge on the front door & where they had recut for the two strike plates, the top one was not filled with wood filler & a nice cut out was left. Terribly disappointed in Pella & would never by even a screen from them again!!
