They told me there was a 6 week lead time required before the work would start which fit perfect for my schedule. From beginning to end, I felt like the team from Patricks were a partner in this project. They provided helpful recommendations and worked with me on a variety of options from design to cost. i would highly recommend Patrick Exteriors and would utilize them again for future projects.

We found this company on Angie's lisr and were pleased with all aspects of the work. He was prompt and professional. This was a pretty small job but it's hard to find someone to repair an old exterior brick facade. He rebuilt the top of our brick planter and the strip of brick betwen our garage doors. This is an old house and you would not notice the repairs unless you had seen it before.

The crew worked quickly completing the job in a timely manner with minimal damage to landscaping around the house. Only the lead man spoke fluent English and was professional acting. Some quality issues with job were: Gaps at end of lap siding were excessive in places. Excess use of nail gun in places. Original electrical boxes for lights were left in wall behind new siding with just a hole in the siding for the wires. Some fittment issues with porch posts. They did come out and fix some of these issues at no extra charge. Over all it was a reasonably good job.

Initially they responded to my request for a bid, and Robert Patrick was very prompt, and extremetly thorough in his explanation on the proposed work. He we very clear in what he would recommend, and what we did not need. He insisted upon using the highest quality products, answered all my questions, and did not try to sell anything that was not needed, unlike other businesses during their bids. I had them out on two separate occasions over the past year. TThe first time they replaced wood rot and siding on the house, in preparation for paiting, then painted the entire house. They also installed a repalcement window that I had pre-purchased. The work was done as planned, extremetly thorough, and high quality. The second time I called them regarding a roofing problem, and they replaced the roofiing on a dormer room, and repaired some minor gutter problems. Again, they did not try to oversell, provided a detailed explanation and completed the job as planned. I would definitely call them the next time I need external repairs or painting.
Description of Work: They provided bids, then completed 2 separate jobs on 2 separate occasions. One was a complete exterior paint job, including repair of extensive wood rot. The second job was a partial roof replacement on a flat dormer roof.

I have nothing but great things to say about Patrick Exteriors. Some points that particularly impressed me: -Detailed estimate given on the spot. The owner, Robert, wrote it up in his truck and delivered it to the front door 20 min later. -Meetings were never rushed and Robert spent plenty of time answering our questions. He was always available via phone or email. -Our master carpenter, Steve, was not only extremely talented at his trade but his communication with us couldn't have been better during the 3.5 week construction phase. -Whenever we had a concern, it was addressed promptly by either Steve, Robert, or Josh (Production Coordinator) -Clean-up was impeccable...they even vacuumed parts of my grass, I kid you not. -The unexpected extras (such as the beadboard on the front porch ceiling) were a very nice touch. Patrick Exteriors made the whole 2 month process as "comfortable" as you can make reconstruction of the exterior of your home. They were responsible and respectful. We couldn't be more pleased.
Description of Work: Partial tear-off of existing siding on all 4 sides of home. Installation of: Tyvek drain wrap, Hardie 7" cedar lap cement fiber siding with shingle accents, new mouldings around all windows, shutters, gutters. Hand painted all exterior.

We initially hired them to replace the windows, repair the siding and paint. Before they started work, we were hit by a major hail storm and they provided us with a competitive bid to replace our roof. Kyle worked with our insurance company and was able to negotiate a significantly higher settlement that the insurance company initially offered. He spent a great deal of time doing this and really had no financial motivation to do it, so we really appreciated his efforts. The work was done quickly, and the workmanship was excellent. We had several different crews here for different aspects of the job, and they were all great to have around and very professional. We were very happy with our experience and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Patrick Exteriors replaced four sliding glass windows and several other large windows, completed extensive repairs to our siding, including replacement the siding on one side of the house, hand painted the entire house and replaced the roof and gutters.

Betsey called me to confirm the appt in the morning, which I found to be impressive. The estimator was to be here at 4:30pm and got here late. He was Robert Patrick the owner. I told him we had had a big hail storm and I needed to get my exterior of my home repainted. He said my contractor should have taken care of that. I explained to him that I didn't have a contractor. He pointed to the roofing sign in my front yard. I told him that they had just replaced my roof, but that they don't do painting. I told him that my ins co had paid me for damages to my home. He then walked around the the side of my home and said " they're horrible". I said who- my ins co. or my roofer-he said your ins co. I have been with the same ins co for 25 years and didn't appreciate this. I asked him if he could split out the actual cost for the side of the house, front and the deck for the ins co (since this was what they were willing to pay for) and the rest for me. He refused to help me even though all of the other companies I got estimates from were happy to do this. We got to the deck and he says "what are we going to do here?" I pointed out where I knew there was dry rot and he just said the whole floor needs to be replaced without looking at it closely. I explained to him that I could only afford to replace the rotted boards. I knew his company did gutters so I asked him what it would cost to get new gutters on the front of my house. My ins co did not give me money to replace all of my gutters since they had minimal damage, but I had had a tree fall on the front gutter separate from the hail strom. He refused to give me a price on replacing the front gutters, only telling me how much he would charge per linear foot. This was of no help since I am not trained in measuring for gutter replacement. I do have a bid from another highly reputable guttering company for the front of my house. I was just thinking that maybe I could use one company for both the gutters and the painting. He then went to his truck and returned with a bid that was very high. He then said that he was very mad at my roofer-I again was shocked and told him that the only reason I got a new roof was because they went to bat for me with the ins co. and that were wonderful to work with! In general I have never had such a horrible experience with any contractor in all of the 30 plus years that I have been a homeowner. He was very rude, argumentative and very uninterested in my business. He said he never wanted to ever deal with an ins co. again. He made some comment inferring that the reason he wasn't willing to cooperate was that there wasn't much to work with here even though his bid for minor dry rot repair and painting was $8,000. I did let him know that I had never had such a bad experience. I am very sorry to have to type this bad review-I hope he was just having a bad day, but it left me upset all evening. After much soul searching I felt that I should report on what happened.
Description of Work: I called the company for an exterior painting estimate on June 6th. Betsey, who was very nice, said that the soonest an estimator could get here was June 20th. I decided to wait that long even though all of the other companies I called got here in a few days.

As the owner of this firm I would like to respond in general to this complaint regarding our estimate process. I will then provide specifics to this individual. In short, this prospective client grossly misrepresented the objectives of the estimate from the start. Her objective was for me to provide an estimate of hail damage (exceeding what the insurance company had already paid). As this was work I would NOT be willing to perform AND the estimate scope she was requesting would be false (not honest!), AND the insurance company had been more than reasonable in compensating ANY of the paint related "hail damage" I declined to further discuss those project aspects with the client. This did not please her as her personal objective was not accomplished (which was to force the insurance company to paint most of her house). ALSO NOTE 1- This is not our client, we did no work for this person. 2- I provide free, scope related estimates to prospective clients for scopes of work which we would perform. As we are a small, established, reputable firm (which generally works on referral) our estimate and project lead times will exceed that of other firms. 3- In order to conserve everyones valuable time I employ phenomenal full time office personnel who takes the time to communicate our project minimums, scopes of work offered, production lead times, and other pertinent details In Advance of scheduling an appointment. 4- If, at any point, in the process of an estimate or setting an appointment for an estimate, it becomes clear (to either us or the prospective client) that our services are not a "good fit", it is best for both parties to move on (which in my opinion is reasonable). 5- I give my honest opinion as to comprehensive project needs and conditions based on 15 years of experience in this area. In many cases, prospective clients find this helpful. In some cases, my suggestions / observations are not consistent with client objectives (which is also ok). 6- I will not estimate, or perform work which I will not stand behind. 7- I will not provide estimates for work which we would not do or for clients who I believe would not be a good fit. 8- I will not provide "false estimates" which misrepresent project needs or costs for people to use in third party negotiations (such as insurance, home sales, or disputes) 9- All I require is the prospective client be honest about appointment / estimate / or project objectives. If through the course of our interaction I feel this is not the case, I will attempt to "bow out gracefully"... In cases like those, neither the prospective client (or I) are happy. As to this specific appointment, This estimate was set on the expectation of "Whole house" repainting for a home which had not been painted in 10 years. This is consistent with our minimum scope. On arrival, the prospective client indicated she required an estimate for Insurance Settlement Purposes (for an upcoming meeting with her Adjuster)- She indicated this estimate would be limited to partial areas of painting and repair And detailed in "Insurance Format". (which is not consistent with our minimum scope, or our standard bidding practices). I attempted to continue with the evaluation of the property (consistent with the original appointment) but the prospective client continued to focus on the "insurance work" (which I had previously explained would not be the focus of my estimate). During my evaluation I observed that most of the "hail damage" the client was demanding the insurance company to pay for was rotted wood. I indicated that "in my opinion", any amount(s) given by the insurance company for painting or replacement were more than reasonable as 1- All "damaged boards" were soft and rotted, (Non-rotted boards were not damaged) 2- The touchup of (10) hail marks did not merit the repainting of the "whole house". The fact that house had not been painted in 10 years (and paint not matching) would not change the insurance companies obligation (in fact it might even reduce their obligation) 3- Our rate for gutter replacement would be in line with her insurance company estimate. She did not want to hear any of the above. Sincerely, Robert Patrick

After reviewing Angie's List for prospective house painters, Patrick Exteriors was at the top of my list, given their great reviews. I am disappointed to say my experience was not in line with that of other customers. I contacted Patrick Exteriors more than a month ago and asked to schedule a time for Robert to come to my home, meet with me, discuss the project (exterior house painting) as well as some additional improvements I was interested to know if Robert could take care of. It was important to me to meet Robert in person to look at the house together. I find it problematic to assess a craftsman's integrity, professionalism, quality of work, trustworthiness, etc, when not given the opportunity to meet them in person. I called three painters to get three bids for the work. The woman who handles Robert's scheduling was nice, but explained that he would be unavailable to meet me to discuss the project for a month. His earliest opportunity for an evening or weekend appointment was more than 30 days away and I am unable to be home during normal business hours. I wasn't thrilled, but chose to take the long wait to mean he did great work, was in high demand, and waiting might be worth it. I obtained my other two bids from other painters and sat tight until my pending appointment with Robert on a Saturday afternoon, even though I was anxious to get on someone's schedule to get the painting done as soon as possible. A few days before my Saturday appointment with Robert, he called. I got a voicemail that said he would be in my neighborhood looking at another house and wanted to know if he could stop by and look at mine. I called back and left him a voicemail saying that while I didn't mind if he looked at my house while he was in the area, I would not be able to be there in the middle of a weekday afternoon, and that it was important to me to meet him in person. I had waited a long time for the Saturday appointment, which I strongly preferred we keep. The next day he came by my house and left an estimate in my door, which I received when I got home from work that night. I also got a voicemail saying he had left the estimate and to call him if I wanted to proceed with the painting. Really??? I think it's pretty clear I do not want to proceed. I waited a month to meet with him in person and explained that both to the scheduler when I set the appointment and to him when he left me a voicemail. Otherwise, I would have gone with another painter a long time ago and the work might even be done by now. No one else had a problem meeting me in person on an evening or weekend to discuss the house and provide an estimate. I found the fact that he did not keep his appointment unprofessional, especially when I had waited so long for it. He obviously doesn't want the business. I was perfectly willing to pay for quality (specifically looking for that, actually). However, I'm glad I didn't sign up sight unseen to pay someone $4,000+ who doesn't keep his word and isn't interested in what's important to the client. If you're looking for a house painter, I suggest you look elsewhere. I certainly am. Disappointing experience. I hope others have better luck with Patrick Exteriors.
Description of Work: I contacted Patrick Exteriors re: painting the outside of my house. I had several additional exterior improvement projects in mind if the painting went well. Unfortunately, I never got that far. To be clear, this review pertains only to the process of obtaining an estimate.

First and foremost, we apologize for this experience. Sometimes those popular time slots (evenings/weekends) are hard to come by (and the first to fill) during our peak season), which is the reason for the extended wait period. As a small, family owned firm we try our best to accommodate client schedules to meet in person for the estimate, as that is our preferred method as well. I do know that Robert has worked late into the evenings for several months. For a straight forward basic (painting) scope he is certainly available to answer any questions and walk the proposal through by cell phone or email at your convenience, which was offered when contact was made prior to the appointment time. Again, we apologize for your experience and strive to accommodate needs in a timely manner. Please note, the proposal was provided ahead of scheduled appointment time and we remain available to review via office, cell or email at your convenience.

Robert Patrick gave us a quote right at our house after walking around the house and telling him what we wanted. We paid exactly what he quoted us on the original estimate. He and Betsy were very prompt with any questions that we had. Patrick Exteriors never compromised quality. It may have taken them longer to fix some of the problems they discovered, but they did it right. The crew worked very hard to get the work done by the promised date. Every gap or seam was meticulously caulked. If there were any questions, Louis always came to the door to verify what we wanted. The siding and paint job are beautiful! Our new house siding is installed better then any new construction! We are so pleased with Patrick Exteriors and will recommend them to anyone!
Description of Work: Patrick Exteriors installed new Certainteed Fiber Cement siding over the existing siding on all four sides of our house. They painted the new siding, installed new gutters and downspouts and installed a new front door. Before installing the new siding, they removed any rotted siding. When they found that some of the old flashing was inadequate, they replaced it even though it took extra time.

All of the crew was great to work with! Some of our vinyl window wrap was damaged (dents) when they removed the trim at the beginning of the job, but Kyle had our window guy re-install the vinyl wrap where damage had occurred. We had a final walk thru on the siding as well as paint job. We would definitely use Patrick Exteriors again and would highly recommend the company to others!
Description of Work: All wood rot was removed from existing wood siding, house wrap installed, and new Certainteed Fiber Cement flat panels and shingles installed. Kyle and his team were awesome to work with. We had daily updates from him regarding status of project and were able to provide feedback on anything we had questions on. Kyle also removed and installed a new hand railing for the front of our house, which looks great! We also had the exterior of the house painted. Martin was our painter and did a fantastic job! He had an eye for detail and took his time to ensure everything looked just right.

The job went very well. Rob kept every promise he made and did excellent work. Called or stopped by every day to check on the job and his crew. The crew was very good and did excellent work. There were a couple of issues to work through and Rob handled them all fairly and quickly. We are very picky about projects on our house and were extremely pleased with the work Patrick Exteriors did. Rob is very professional and we have recommended him to others. He wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive estimate we received--about in the middle--but he did the best job we could have asked for. I will pay a little extra for a good job. We will hire Patrick Exteriors in the future. The paint still looks new after 7 years and we have had no issues with their work.
Description of Work: Replaced exterior siding with Hardi-Board siding, replaced all brick mold and window sills, caulked and repainted entire exterior.
