 + -1 moreI bought an Angie's List Deal for $99 for 2 hours of plumbing service. I called LJ to schedule the work and he set the day. He called back on the day we agreed to check if it's ok to come. He came within half an hour and did the work in an hour by him and his assistant. He replaced the faucet and the other guy fixed the toilet and then helped LJ's faucet work. They cleaned up everything. He needed an extra part for the toilet and that charge was $15 plus tax. LJ and his assistant were very friendly and pleasant and did an excellent job.

 + -1 moreWe made an appointment to have a sink faucet and shower fixture replaced in our 100+ year old house. They called before the appointed time to say they were on their way and arrived on time. The owner and an assistant plumber got right to work. The assistant replaced the sink faucet and worked through obstacles of a tight space and difficult removal of the old fixture. The shower turned out to be a special fixture requiring special replacement and we needed to decide whether to tear out the wall and replace pipes or special order the fixture and make a small repair so the existing shower would work in the meantime. The owner explained the situation, showing with flashlight and measuring tape what some of the challenges were. When the job was done they cleaned up nicely. The owner was very fair with the price and made adjustments since he did not have to install the shower fixture.

I also needed our main basement drain looked at because it smelled bad. I bought the coupon and called him. He responded quickly, called on the day of appointment and was on time. Very helpful and fixed all my problems with the plumbing.
Description of Work: He came and evaluated my basement sewer drain and fixed it. He also worked on a leaking pipe and fixed it as well. He was very professional and explained everything. Great experience.

 + -1 moreGiven some of the annoyances with the job, I may try to find someone else if I need a plumber again. But I may still use him as he's friendly, competent and honest.
Description of Work: LJ was pretty friendly, told him what I needed to do, fix a toilet leak and unclog a drain. He came out for an initial assessment and did not charge for this which was a reason I decided to give him my business. Ended up it was cheaper to put in a new toilet. I told him the model I wanted (low flow) and he picked it up and came over with another plumber to install it. He charged about $350 to put the toilet in including the $150 for the cost of the model he picked up. He did not charge me extra for hauling the crapper from Home Depot. I was a little disappointed with the install. Some tile was damaged where the water line was when they pulled out the old one, and I had to re caulk some areas around the toilet to make it look good. Also, when they brought in the new toilet they scuffed up my wood floor to the bathroom and I need to refinish part of it. LJ said he was sorry but did not off to knock anything off the bill and I didn't ask. Toilet is working fine. What I thought was a simple clog on my kitchen drain turned in to several hours of work. I guess I could have just asked him to clear the clog but he said my garbage disposal was draining incorrectly with the water line emptying in to the basement and my dish washer once it clogged. He gave me 10 percent off for my Angie's list membership and the job LJ did seems to be a good once to clear the clog and fix the drain issue. I have no idea the technical aspects of what he did but he and the other plumber were working for several hours so I guess the price was fair. One annoying thing is that it took several phone calls and texts to get a receipt from LJ. I don't believe this was intentional but it did create a hassle because I needed to show I had the work done to the city water dept.

Description of Work: I purchased the Angie's List Storefront deal for 2 hrs of plumbing labor for $100 as I had 2 upstairs toilets in kid's bathrooms with persistent leaks. The 2 toilets were "rebuilt" with new fill valves, flappers, supply lines, and other parts that in total were ~$100.

Description of Work: Called them for a review and estimate for removing water and fixing a water leak in the crawl space underneath my home. Said that he would come in on Monday and give me an estimate. Called the Monday he came about an hr before to let me know he was on his way. Came in with a new worker and took a look at what I needed to have done. Explained what he would have to do, and gave me a quote of $2,000 - $3,000, which was significantly higher than what I can currently handle on my current budget. Asked questions about whether I could get any assistance with the repairs, also went over how he would be paid, said that he would need 1/2 before the job was started and the other 1/2 after completion. Explained my situation to him and was very professional and understanding of my current financial constraints. Told him that once I could afford the work, would be contacting him again.

 + 1 moreI'm happy with the service I received. LJ was personable, courteous, and efficient. He and his assistant worked through my list of repairs in good time. On the day LJ completed the items on our original list, we discovered we had no hot water. Repeated attempts to relight the pilot failed, so we called L.J. back. He diagnosed a failed thermocouple as the problem and returned later in the day to replace it. The timing of this additional plumbing failure seemed an unusual coincidence, but we're inclined to trust LJ.

 + 0 moreLJ was a real pleasure to have doing the job. He drove all the way out to Lone Jack, Missouri, which is harder to get companies to do then you might think. Most plumbers won't come all that way, so that was a real plus. He was prompt, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. He explained what he was doing and why he recommended it. He considered what work needed to be done and recommended hourly work over an estimate to save me some money, which it did (for the work I was asking him to do). I had purchased a water heater and he pulled the old one, hauled it off and installed the new one. He replaced cracked and leaking CPVC tubing with a better quality PEX tubing and fixtures. His work is first rate even though he worked quickly. He also had all the parts he needed for my project and I could tell he had a well stocked truck (although he could not possibly carry everything, he does carry the parts needed for the usual kind of non-specialty plumbing repair). I would definitely use his company again.
Description of Work: Replaced water heater. Replaced cracked and leaking CPVC piping that had been poorly installed with PEX pipe and fittings which is a much superior product. He removed and capped off other connections to a cheap shower insert a prior owner installed that we wanted to remove. He also gave guidance on a minor plumbing job that I was working on myself when I had trouble with it.

I said my ceiling is ruined my newly painted walls are stained and I have no water and the problem isn't fixed? He said he would make me a deal and only charge ne $1,100.00 plus parts for less than 6 hours work all the damage he caused. Out of my good nature and I sent him $500.00 i now beleive a huge mistake on my part. I have had another plumber out to look at problem the facuet had the wrong connections installed for type of pipe they purchased? Plumber able to make connections in less than hour no problem But KC Metro Plumbing broke another pipe above ceiling making facuet install. Now I have another plumber to fix that damage and have to cut floor out in bathroom to get to broken pipe? that will cost me at least $1,000.00 and repair to walls
Description of Work: One of the worst performers I have ever had off Angies list and I have used several the last few months. I bought an Angies deal for a plumber for 2 hours. KC Metro Plumbing arrived as schduled. I wanted a shower attachement add to a claw foot tub, I bought a new kit to install in toilet flush tank and a gas heater connected to gas line. When they arrived I showed them what I needed done. I was a little surprised when it says 2 hours of plumbing and 2 guys show show up and it one hour with 2 men? I showed them the kit I received for shower install along with toilet flush tank kit. He said I was missing spout on shower kit? I would have to special order on line very difficult to find? So off to plumbing store I went he also didn't have a part on his truck for heater install I said I would pick up. Calls me while I am at plumbing store has opened and tried to install flush tank kit I purchased says he can't make it work he has one on his truck for $17.00 that will work? I say o.k. just get it fixed. I purchase the shower attachment facuet and head back. I look in kit I purchased all parts are there he didn't open package? So I now have $30.00 part I don't need and the part was there! Oh it gets better! So now 45 minutes has gone by and at least toilet is fixed nothing else? While he installs line on to heater needs 2 conections takes him another hour they other guy is working on installing facuet on tub for shower head? It's now 11:00 a.m. they started at 9:00 am find out gas line in basement is not connected to gas line upstairs but very fixable so I say yes we have gone this far make them connect. They leave at approximately 11:45 a.m. to go to lunch and get parts? I leave home also I come back at 2:30 and water is running thru picture window frame downstairs staining my ceiling and ruining my brand new paint on walls. I call Plumber LJ I think his name is on their way back. They arrive at 3:00p.m. get water stopped for moment helper goes upstairs works 2 more hours on faucet and turns water on it leaks all over dining room again making bigger mess and causinfg more damage? LJ says its old plumbing I agree home was built in 1915 I expect some things but water running thru ceiling not one of them? They gas line takes 2 1/2 hours to connect its now 5:30 I am supposed to be at an appointment at 6:00 p.m. Still no connection upstairs with water lines? LJ sayshe will have to tear out ceiling to repair a pipe that was now leaking seperate from the repair?? Are you lidding me my ceiling in a dining room with old tile that can't be replaced? I leave they go buy fan to dry water damage in dining room. said they left at 6:15

 + -1 moreI was blowing out a wall to convert a laundry closet into an actual room and came across a capped off gas pipe emerging from the floor behind the dryer. I needed a pro to come and relocate the pipe so that we'd have the option later to install a gas dryer if we wanted. ( I can do a lot but I don't mess with gas) I see now why LJ has gotten such good reviews and why I'm about to be another one. I got him on the phone right away. He was very upfront about their current workload and asked if early evening would be ok. He called, right on schedule to see if I still needed them to come out and that they could arrive in 15 minutes. Upon arrival, he and his helper we very courteous and professional. He took a look at the job I needed done and gave an estimate that I thought was very fair. He let me know they had to run out to get some parts and they'd be right back. (Another reviewer blasted them for not having the parts they needed on hand. But, seriously! Do you really expect them to have all the parts they would need, for every job and contingency, in a single truck? H***, even Home Depot doesn't have all the parts you could possibly need and those stores are bigger than a football field!) Anyway, they banged out the work in no time. They even double checked the amateur plumbing work that I did myself, just to be on the safe side, at no extra charge. I was impressed enough that I even got an estimate on a project that I'm planning a little later and intend on using them for that job.
Description of Work: I needed a pro to come and relocate a gas pipe that was putting my laundry room renno in jeopardy.

Description of Work: They replaced a valve on the gas line to my fireplace. Unfortunately, they had to go through my basement ceiling to correct the problem. After doing so, they gave us a choice to either re-drywall the patch or install a access the door. We opted for the access door for easier access with possible future issues. After the work was done, they cleaned and vacuumed.
