L.J. and his son Kyle's 2nd job at my house ~ they did a great job. More work than we both anticipated but it all needed to be done and my kitchen sink finally has pressure when I use the hot. water. Gave me an update in the morning on what time they would be there & got to work when they arrived. Fast and efficient, very knowledgeable. Now trying to get them back to replace my water-hog of a toilette!

L.J. & His son Kyle snaked my basement drain. I was having some foundation work the next week and the foundation company recommended that I get it done. They were on time, knew what they were doing, careful not to track mud into my house and gave me some pointers on the equipment in the basement to a house that I was just moving in to. He gave me some estimates and I scheduled him again on the spot to update my kitchen lines to Pex. Very knowledgeable and friendly!

We were in need of a new hot water heater, had tried Sears and Home Depot and both of these places promised their installers would call me within 24 hours and they never called. My water heater was leaking and I was unable to get the shutoff to work so my money was literally running down the drain. I called L.J. at about 4:00 pm on Friday and asked what was the soonest I could get a hot water heater installed, he simply said "today". I was so happy and he was on at a job at the time so he called me when he was on his way. He was there before 7:30pm and got the job done that night. L.J. was very professional and the water heater has been in for a little over a week and everything is working perfectly. We are very happy with the work and will definitely call him again for any other pluming needs.

LJ and his son Kyle did excellent work with great attention to detail. They were friendly, knowledgeable, very professional, and answered all our questions. We got several bids, so we know their rates were reasonable. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves, too. (The bathroom floor looked spotless!) My sump pump went out during a severe thunderstorm. Of course it happened during the middle of the night. After realizing I couldn't keep up by dumping buckets of water down a drain, I called LJ at 2am. He was at my house by 3am and installed a temporary sump pump during the storm until he could get a new one to install the next day.

LJ called me back within minutes of inquiry, on a Sunday and Mother's Day!! He was prompt and courteous, took care of multiple issues quickly. He was professional and friendly, and cleaned well! I will definitely be recommending him/using his services for future plumbing needs!

Requested service because water was running under the toilet. LJ and his son showed up the same day I called and quickly found the problem. They said the tank would have to be pulled to fix it and I asked about just replacing it with a chair height toilet. They said it could be taken care of immediately and off they went to buy what I needed. I was sure they would have to schedule the service on a different day since I requested something more than the original problem. New toilet installed and very satisfactorily. They were very respectful of me and my house.

Friday night my wife called and told me we had no hot water and that the water heater was leaking. When I got home I could tell the tank had ruptured. I spent Saturday morning searching online and calling around, but no one had the special high efficiency replacement model we needed, and soonest delivery was around 3-4 weeks. After researching plumbers and water heater installers on Angie's list, the first highly rated company I called said they were 3 weeks out unless I had a premium contract (or something like this). I next called Metro Plumbing. It was around Noon Saturday and LC answered right away. I told him my problem and that I needed a new water heater because my old one had ruptured. He was on a call at the time, but said he could come Monday and would call me Sunday afternoon to confirm a time to meet. Considering it was Saturday and the first company called was 3 weeks out, I was perfectly happy with this time frame. LC called Sunday evening just as he said he would. At 9:00AM Monday I met LC and his son at the house. After a brief look he agreed old water heater was shot and imediately started looking for a replacement. He also found the high eff. model I had a bit hard to find, but did find one in Leavenworth, KS. He quoted me what seemed a fair fixed price and said his dad could go pick the water heater up, and that he could come back to install later that day. Considering the thought of a hot vs. cold shower on Tuesday morning, I quickly took LC up on his offer. At 5:00PM Monday I met LC and his son back at the house. Although I could tell LC was not familiar with some of the special requirements of installing high eff. water heaters, I was very pleased with the entire process. It was around 10:00PM when they finished. Both LC and his son were professional, clean, courteous, respectful of our house and took their time to make a good installation. Metro Plumbing conducts business like it used to be, and should always be conducted. He forgot to add an expansion tank on his quote which was an additional cost. This adder was no problem for me and something I read should always be installed. Unfortunately, my 8 year old custom built house never had one, nor did it have a condensate drain installed in the vent pipe sloping uphill which is in my opinion likely the reason the original unit failed in such a short time. This condensate drain tubing was something LC did not have on his truck and had to go get at Lowes/Home Depot which he did without even thinking twice about it.. I tried to pay LC for the extra material and time, but he would not accept my offer. This gesture confirmed I had not only found a good plumber who will get my future business, but also a generally good guy. One other note of advice to fellow subscribers. Do not waste money on a high effeciecy water heater. The unrelability and repair costs coupled with the high original and replacement costs (about 1.5- 2 times higher than std. water heater) negate any savings in energy you'll get. I only stuck with the identical high eff. model because of the existing 2 1/2" PVC vent pipe. To switch to a standard unit would have required all new larger diameter double wall vent pipe through a new hole in the wall or roof which was not feasible/possible with the unit positioned in basement as it is.

It was great. I learned that I was lucky that my old water heater hadn't blown. Metro employees communicated with me the whole time and explained about the difference between my old water heater and my new one

We called LJ to schedule and he was able to get to us within a couple days (note that neither item was very urgent so that met our timeline). He came out on a Saturday which worked really well for two working parents. He and his son were very professional and explained the issues to us. We called him a couple weeks later for some issues with our hot water. Although he didn't end up coming out, he helped us over the phone for 30 minutes early on a Saturday morning (without getting paid). My husband and I were so impressed with his level of customer service, LJ will be our plumber going forward.

There were no troubles with scheduling and there were no additional costs. They cleaned up well after the job was completed. They did a great job and I would hire them again.

LJ was very responsive, courteous and professional. He responded within a few minutes of my making the appointment. Rearranged his schedule so that we were his first appointment and provided some education in the process. His price was more than fair and I would gladly refer him to others for plumbing repairs. Excellent outcome!

LJ was friendly, efficient, detail-oriented, knowledgable, and willing to educate. I don't know much about plumbing, but his attention to "doing things the right way the first time, so that he doesn't have to do warranty work later" gave us confidence in his quality. That gave us confidence, along with the fact that he pointed out stuff in our home that we knew was shoddy workmanship of other plumbers (AB May, who did really crappy work earlier this year in our laundry room), and he wagged his finger at us! He doesn't appear to take shortcuts that could shave the costs at the expense of quality or durability of his work (unlike AB May), so in this case we got what we paid for in a good way. We would hire KC Metro Plumbing again for future plumbing needs.

We went into the basement around 7 and found a lovely pond that had formed in our basement. The water heater had sprung a leak. Since the heater was 20 years old we decided we would go ahead and replace it. We called LJ at 8 p.m. and like other reviewers have said, he answered right away. The only reason he didnt come out right then is because he had already installed the 40 gallon heater that he had and needed to grab another one. We scheduled a time for the next day and he called when he was on his way so I knew when to expect him. Not only did he get the heater installed, but in order for him to do it he had to do additional work to the gas lines. He was knowledgeable and was willing to take the time to explain what he was doing and why. The work was very well done and he was great to work with. We will definitely be using him for our plumbing needs in the future.

I called because I had a sewer gas smell in the house and wasn't sure from where it was coming. LJ showed up on time and we were able to determine the smell was coming from one of the toilets. After pulling the toilet, he found that it had not been installed properly before. He replaced the wax ring and spacers and re-seated the toilet. Presto! The nasty smell is gone! LJ is courteous and professional, I would definitely use this company again.

Ultimately, I overpaid significantly for this job and regret agreeing to his charges. I paid $700.00 total ($415 of that for a back up sump pump battery that is smaller than the one a previous plumber put in from Batteries Plus for $100.00 that lasted the 3 years, and $285.00 for a controller to go on the back up sump pump. For comparison, my previous plumber charged me $1,000 to put in my entire system (sump pump, back up sump pump and back up battery). I originally called KC Metro plumbing just to get an estimate on replacing my back up sump battery, but then as I was cleaning the floor around the pump, water spewed from one of the pipes where it was loosely connected, so I called to see if he could come earlier. It was on a Saturday, but he did not indicate when I called that he was more expensive on weekends and I don't know if he is. He moved me up sooner in his day and came out and determined the battery needed replaced and quoted me $415 to replace the pump with a smaller battery than I had (saying it was sufficient and would save me money) and he tightened the pipe. That price seemed high since the previous plumber had put in a pump for $100.00 but I was worried about the loose pipe causing my basement to flood and just wanted to get it done, so decided i would pay more this time. I regret that decision. After installing the battery, he determined the back up sump pump would not shut off and needed a controller, so that would be another $325 dollars. At this point, I was very frustrated and should have said no then, but went ahead just to get it done since I had put off getting the battery replaced for several months and was worried about the rainy fall causing basement flooding issues if the back up pump didn't work and the power went out. I wish I had checked around a lot more. I think the job should have been significantly less based on my previous plumber's charge and work completed.

I stepped into the shower at 10:00 PM before bed to discover that our hot water heater had gone south. As soon as I thawed out from the cold shower, I began looking for a local contractor to call and leave a message to make an emergency appointment for the next day. I quickly identified KC Metro as the local contractor I wanted to hire for the job. I noticed that LJ had long hours listed for his hours of operation and rang him up. LJ himself answered the phone...at 10:30 PM! After describing the issue and giving him some information about the old water heater, he said he could be over in a half hour. I was shocked, but didn't argue! LJ showed up at 11:00 PM and had a new, upgraded hot water heater installed and the old one hauled away by 2:00 AM. Top notch service and a helluva nice guy! I will recommend LJ to many friends and family in the future!

He was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable. He quickly switched out the old disposal for the new one, and then did a couple of extra things like cleaning the cabinet and rerouting the dishwasher drain. I would definitely hire him again.

I called KC Metro Plumbing because I found the company on Angie's List. All of my bathroom fixtures were gold so they were changed to oil-rubbed bronze. That included all the shower fixtures, including the drain, two sink faucets and a valve replacement to install new roman tub faucet, handles, drain and plug. The original fixtures were either ordered or purchased thru Home Depot but had to be returned because the boxes had evidently been opened and returned with parts missing. So needless to say LJ at KC Metro Plumbing had his work cut out for him and the items had to be returned to Home Depot and some of them ordered from Ferguson without any problems. This prolonged the bathroom fixtures installation over two weeks but KC Metro Plumbing was always available to schedule at my convenience. The bathroom looks terrific finally! I would definitely recommend KC Metro Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs.

First and foremost - they were not the lowest bid. They were about 15% high. Most importantly - he took time to thoroughly review his proposal, and why he was not the low bid. He gave me time to do research on his proposal, and you know what, he was doing it the way I would want it done. I was almost embarrassed that I was considering the low bid instead of him. That would have been a mistake. A few days later I called and asked if he could do it tomorrow as the range was being delivered the next day, he said he was busy tomorrow, but if I was OK with him working past 5, he would be out that same day. No extra charge. He came out and knocked it as promised. He walked us through the installation and made sure we had what we need for the range installation. At that point, I made up my mind that I had found the plumber that I could trust. And then, 1 week and a 2 dozen complaints of the smell of natural gas, I sent him an email. I did not smell natural gas. My wife would occasionally smell natural gas. But our teenage daughter said she smelled it every time she came in the house. I sent an email to LJ, and he came by on his way home. At 8 PM at night? Who does? A quality business professional that takes pride in his work. He came by that night, He confirmed that we had a small leak, and he solved the problem. He could have very easily blamed the appliance installers, and who would I be to argue? Instead, he said no charge, and asked that I remember him next time that I need something. Hopefully I am going one better. If you are reading this, and you are looking for an inexpensive plumber that will give you a cheap price. Keep looking. BUT if you are looking for someone that will give you a greatvalue, and someone that you can trust to follow up, this is your company. He's won my business for sure.

LJ had been to our home before for other plumbing projects, and had checked out this particular faucet, since the water pressure was very low. On this particular project, LJ replace the faucet. Now this faucet works perfectly. The second part of this project was to replace the tub faucet. LJ completed this project very quickly and left no mess for us to clean up.
