The work was fine. They did a great job!

Initially, the work was just fine. Although, the communication between them and their crew was a bit backwards. The wood rot repair guy was not here before they started painting. They had to delay the work and it was a little frustrating.

Workers arrived on the day they were to start (two workers, one foreman). Foreman went over everything that was in contract and we talked about what they were going to be doing. Then one worker stayed and worked on removing wallpapper and sanding walls while foreman and second worker went to pick up supplies...plastic for covering, paint, etc. They worked pretty steady first day removing wallpapper and covering furniture, cabinets and appliances and sanding before starting to paint. Second day they evidently got caught in parade going on in Shawnee and some streets were blocked so were a little later in starting then originally told but still finished work in two days..

What stood out to me was the professionalism of the crew. They were good to work with, responsive and got the job done.

Al things considered they done a pretty good job.

On October 2, 2012, CertaPro Painters were selected from a group of 6 contractors highlighted on Angie?s List Reviews based on performance, professionalism, workmanship, and competitive pricing criteria. The company?s sales representative was courteous and friendly while explaining the company policies ensuring customer satisfaction from start to finish, even to the point of offering CertaPro financing arrangements should I choose to select that option. No payment of any kind was requested at the time of contract signing nor would payment be requested until thoroughly satisfied with the results. I expressed my concerns regarding communicating with non-English speaking work crews which he assured me would not be a problem; an English speaking crew chief would be on site at all times should issues arise that needed attention. Target start date was to begin in two weeks pending weather and scheduling arrangements. The company?s Color Consultant and Project Scheduler were to contact me to set up appointments. The project started on October 26, 2012. Contrary to sales representative assurances, the crew chief frequently went off site not returning for several hours at a time. I emailed the Project manager informing him of the crew chief?s absences, which he assured me, would not be a problem for the rest of the project. Two issues arose during the crew chief?s absence requiring immediately attention for which he was not present to address. I personally had to communicate to the workers my dissatisfaction with the results of their labor, carpentry in one instance, and painting over lose material in another and asked that the work be redone; a complicated and frustrating state of affairs considering I do not speak Spanish, and they do not speak English. I informed the crew chief of these situations upon his return, and he promised to have the problems corrected. The crew chief continued to go off site from time to time. Other issues came up during the crew chief's absences, which I had addressed with the work crew. The two previously stated problems were eventually resolved. The project completed on October 28, 2012. The house painting turned out better than I had expected in spite of the problems along the way. On a positive note, the two painters assigned to the project were exceptionally hard working individuals, courteous and amenable to making requested alterations. I was utterly surprised by the crew chief?s demeanor and demands for full payment upon project completion based on orders from the project manager. I requested a final invoice but given a hand written yellow sheet of paper stating the amount to be paid. Contrary to the sales representative?s financing offer, no such offer, option, or allowance would be proposed upon job completion. Reluctantly I paid the amount in full and emailed the project manager my displeasure with his demands. The project manager apologized several days later stating he was sorry for the misunderstanding. On November 1, 2012, several days following closing, I was raking leaves in the front garden and on the eastside of the house where I found numerous paint splatters throughout the lawn area and on the juniper shrubs and hollies. There also were paint drops/spills on the concrete block wall which someone tried to wipe off. These areas could not be seen clearly at dusk at the time I took my last walk-around the house. I informed the Project Manager of the paint spills but not heard back from him. Based on trustworthiness alone, I would never again hire CertaPro Painters. Additional Member Comments 11/19/2012: First, I find it curious the author?s encouragement for all to see the A+ rating on The BBB website rather than Member Review ratings listed on Angles List. Second, I am unfamiliar with the expression "Punch List? unless it is the author's reference to a review document to be completed by the homeowner upon final project site evaluation. Let me reiterate what I said in Member's Comments, it was dusk by the time the painters finished cleaning up debris around the perimeters of the house with nighttime shadows fast approaching. I requested the walkthrough take place the next day "during daylight hours" when all areas of the project site would be clearly visible. The crew chief "however" insisted the closing walkthrough, all paperwork, and full payment had to be submitted that evening in order for painters to be paid. I purposely left the ?comments/punch list? page blank for that reason. Third, If CertaPro?s policies ensuring customer satisfaction "from start to finish" were their highest priority, why is it that no one with whom I corresponded "problems and issues" ever once came out to evaluate the situation firsthand; not the Sales Representative who sold me on the idea of ?Complete Customer Satisfaction,? not the Project Manager/Scheduler who promised ?Satisfaction and Assurances about the crew chiefs absences,? and certainly not Mr. Greg Nezerka who seemed apologetic with all the confusion I experienced at closing. I am still waiting to hear back from anyone at the company regarding their response to my last email relating ?Paint Spills, Splatters and Drops on Shrubs, etc. Fourth, email correspondence and photographs are available upon request.

We had a very good experience from start to finish. I made an appointment for a bid and he arrived on time, went around and discussed what needed to be done and said he would have the estimate back to me within 24 hours which he did. Prior to starting the work I was kept informed of their schedule because they were running late on the previous project. When they started the actual work they did a great job of replacing trim and siding. I was a little hesitant about using them because we had so much trim and siding to replace but they did an excellent job. Before painting they went around and caulked everything-siding joints, nail holes, door trim, everything. After painting, the house looks brand new. I couldn't have asked for better quality. The few items we pointed out during the process that we felt they missed, they did with no hesitation whatsoever. I've already recommended them to three of my friends and family members.

So far they have been fantastic. They have been very quick with their follow up, and they have also been very informative on the options.

They were very friendly and easy to work with. They asked for any criticism and input. They did a great job.

The crew did a great job during the initial stages of the prep work by scraping and pressure washing. The next phase included priming all of the bare areas of wood prior to painting. I had recently installed some new windows and added new trim boards to the exterior which also required priming. I pulled the crew lead aside on the day that I expected them to prime and he assured me they would prime all of the bare spots on the house before painting. Less than 1 hour after I left the house my wife called to inform me they were already halfway done painting the house. They could not have possibly primed and then began painting during that time. The next day I was able to easily peel paint off MANY areas of the house and expose bare wood. I took several pictures and the owner assured me they would come back and rescrape, prime, and paint these areas. They did come back and fix those areas and repaint. CertaPro ended up spending hours of additional rework rather than simply prime the house properly in the first place. I also later found the painters ladders damaged the shingles above my garage. I worked the owner and he agreed to compensate for the damage to the shingles. In the end, I was satisfied with the paint job but I would not hire CertaPro again.

Entire home power washed, all nail holes patched with all crack in stucco surface, all wood work (rot) repaired as needed.

It was okay, could have been better.

I was very impressed with the speed and professionalism of the crew. They were done in two days. We were also very pleased with the quality of the work and the price. They even took time to do little extras to help us out such as moving the garden hose reel and our grill and replacing it when finished. The price was on par or lower than what we expected to pay.

The job went well. They worked very hard with us to get the colors correct and to our liking.

Called a few days before job started, showed up as promised, checked with us regularly on details, completed all work in about four days, cleaned up well, checked back to do final walk around inspection.

They did an excellent job matching the color we wanted, doing the trim, replacing boards, and painting. They also did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards. We really had no complaints about their workmanship at all, and their price was extremely reasonable. What was most impressive about the crew was their work ethic. It was incredible - they worked tirelessly even in 100-degree heat and on one day for 12 hours straight, with minimal time for breaks. Our only issues (and minor ones at that) were: (1) failure to keep us informed about a start date (it kept changing due to weather which delayed jobs ahead of ours); and (2) the crew chief spoke English, but the rest did not, so when the crew chief wasn't there, we could not communicate with crew members regarding questions about the work.

Because of the recently passes law concerning lead paint in older houses, which ours is, I feel that alot of time was spent on doing prepainting tests that although were "keeping the law", the overall time spent could have resulted in better quality painting. I have only myself to blame in assuming that the house, although brick, would be handpainted rather than sprayed. My son spent alot of time making sure that the end result was more nearly what we had expected.

An in-person written estimate was provided within 2 days of the call. The credentials of the company were provided along with the experience of the crew and name of the crew supervisor and a description of how the work would be done. The work was started and completed within the expected time frame. The workers arrived early, worked very hard and as long as necessary each day, as the weather allowed. They cleaned up each day. They were professional and polite and accomodated several additional tasks that I requested. The only 2 problems I encountered were a low estimate on the replacement of the wood rot and a reversal of the paint colors on the front of the house. The estimator did not climb up to the roof to see what damage was on the eaves or the chimney surround - in his defense - it was raining h****** the day the estimate was given. One area that should have been replaced, wasnt - I noticed it later. The owner of the company came out to talk to me about the paint colors and they were changed to my satisfaction. The house looks great!

Proposal & contract very professional. Paint crew polite, paint job excellent. The B rating is because they left drops on the carpet in five places, one of which was more a line than a drop, and left numerous drips on the tile in shower. I found most of the drops in time to get them out of the carpet, and I'm going to replace the carpet anyway, so no big deal, but it caused me to get a couple of additional bids for the next job.

I was told that they would be at my house at 8am-8:30am on Monday, they showed up at 10:30! Know one called to tell me they were would be late. They continued to show up late and leave early, even after asking them to be at my home on time. Finally at the end of the week after multiple complaints they were here trying to catch up on all the lost time during the week. They were sloppy and so inconsiderate of my time and home. They splattered stain on my walls, they laid paint brushes, lids and paint cans on my carpet with nothing under them! There was no one in charge! There still is finish all over the glass of my new windows! Lucky the window company I used is coming to clean up after their mess! They even got stain all over the new hardware of the windows, which is now being replaced by the window replacement company. The staining was fair at best, the stain is not even consistent across the same piece of wood. Save your self the money, time and find someone reputable. There is NO leadership in this company!

It looks really good. They did everything they said they were going to do. It is well done. The price was reasonable.

Basically they painted at the wrong time of the year & didn't follow up on their work. They have yet to finsh up on anything. They didnt fix everything on our list. Their crew was horrible as well. The crew had a poor additude, very unprofessional.

I was not happy with the service I had received from this company. The front side of my house was painted fine. However, the paint was peeling on the back side of my side of my house because they did not scrape and prime the back side. I called them out a second time to come and repair the work, but they only painted what I had scraped off myself. They also ended up covering my air conditioning unit, causing it to pressure out, which in turn caused me to have to have it replaced. Also, while painting the area around the roof, they walked across my dormer roof on my deck, causing damage to the special UV layer on the roof to keep UV rays filtered out of the light.

I had to reschedule my appointment twice. The last time was due to a medical emergency in my family. Greg and Janae sent us a "get well" card that was very much appreciated. They were both patient with me during my rescheduling needs. Robert and Frank were the painting crew. They were very pleasant and on time. The prep work done was excellent and more than I expected. All the furniture was moved to the middle of the room and covered with cloths. Then the furniture was moved back; this was a treat. Drop cloths were used. The work was done in two days instead of three as anticipated (with excellent quality). I am getting another bid from Greg for more interior painting. Excellent company.

CHARGES FOR ADDITIONAL REPAIRS AFTER JOB STARTED WERE PROPORTIONALLY HIGHER VS. ORIGINAL PROPOSAL. FAILURE TO SUPERVISE WORKERS. OWNER OFTEN REQUIRED TO CORRECT WORKERS. BOTH OWNER AND PAINTER/CARPENTERS UNHAPPY, BUT WORK FINALLY CORRECTED AND EXCEPT FOR PRICE, I HAVE A SATISFACTORILY PAINTED HOUSE.
