They arrived on time, worked quickly, and did exactly what was asked.

Having built a new bathroom in a basement, I called Action Plumbing to come connect my new plastic drains to the old underfloor cast iron sewer line. They were once again prompt, very capable, and fair on the price.

I got a detailed estimate that I thought was comparable to other plumbers in the area in terms of labor rate. They arrived on time and performed the work without any problem, tested the installation, and had it inspected before they left. One of them spent more than half an hour chatting with the building inspector (while they were charging me), which I thought should not have happened. On another occasion, I had them install a dishwasher, disposal, sink, faucet, and drain. I thought that price was reasonable and the work was done quickly and professionally.

Kyle arrived on time, and was fine to work with. He performed minor plumbing duties competently: he snaked the drains, which seems to have worked, and he unscrewed the shower head, cleaned out some calcium/gunk, and called it good. The water pressure has not been improved by this. He also "replaced cartridge" on the low water pressure shower handle (the one where he cleaned the gunk out of the shower head), and also on the completely broken tub handle. This has made those handles so smooth to turn that they feel almost loose (it seems to work fine, but is not very confidence inspiring). But it has not improved either the water pressure in the one, or the broken nature of the second. To the tune of a couple hundred dollars. We feel, rightly or wrongly, that these cartridge changes were expensive and unwarranted. On previous visits, they have "replaced cartridge" too, to little noticeable benefit. Fees like a Delta scam or something, but I don't know anything about plumbing. The two leaky faucets he declared he needed to replace completely. The outside faucet leaks in a place he apparently can't tighten, and the inside leaky faucet is an "off brand" so he can't fix it. The broken faucet inside he managed to re-attach, but said it would need to be replaced, too. His re-attaching worked for only two uses. He left it at that, and if we wanted to replace those faucets, we should go pick one out at Home Depot and let them know. They recommend Delta, fwiw. As for the water heater, he declared that the corrosion around the connection of the pipe to the heater was normal, and that it should not leak, so trying to fix it would cause more trouble than leaving it alone. In the end, we were pretty dissatisfied with the service we got. The bill was for cleaning the drains and replacing the cartridges on the two faucets (one of which he told us we'd have to replace, anyway), but still came to $260. We've always felt Action Plumbing was pretty expensive (we've used them several times before), but the price, coupled with their inability to help us with the majority of our problems, plus their apparent disinterest in fixing anything... well, we are trying out another plumber. Action Plumbing can fix your plumbing problem, yes, but it will cost you, and it all feels a bit lackadaisical. We used them several times, but this last time was finally enough.

First visit: tightened up (rusty) screws holding tank to bowl--leak came back Second visit: replaced gasket between tank and bowl--leak came back Third visit: discovered that tank was cracked, so it had all been in vain. The leak was never fixed.

They installed it quickly, were on time, and cleaned up.
