All Weather Decks

I liked Cass from the beginning appointment. He was on time. We discussed all the ideas I had and products they used. I felt all my questions were answered. He sent me the estimate when he said he would. It was very detailed and professional. (see my other reviews for the other companies I contacted and how they responded). The work was alot: removing old deck and haul off. Formed and laid new concrete which almost identically matches my existing (i was very surprised it matched so well). Diego and Dave were the "building crew" and they are artists. I have been around construction alot but the way Diego builds the deck and pergola - i think it will last forever. There were a few small things that I wanted to add - no big deal at all. A couple of small things we wanted done a little different - no big deal. The process was long, but smooth and totally worth it. I am very glad that I hired Cass and the guys and would do so again. Don't think I will need to since it's built so well, but do definitely recommend them.

Quick response to my request for a free estimate, and he was able to come out in a reasonable amount of time to look at area and measure. Nice guy and seemed knowledgeable. Within a couple of weeks I had a written estimate broken down with different options. Prices seemed reasonable for the work. Nice, large portfolio of pics to look through. I ended up going with another contractor because I felt the fit was better with our neighborhood and the experience of the other company, but I would consider All Weather Decks in the future for another job.

I did not accept this bid. The estimate was extremely high.

This is an older deck and wanted to refurbish. Replaced the rotted wood, then painted/stained the entire deck and pergola. Work was done promptly - a few scheduling issues, but nothing major. The painters had some issues with paint, but very quick to fix everything. Clean-up was so-so. All in all, did what I wanted, though paint/stain will need to be done again soon.

This is the second time we've used Cass and All Weather. In the midst of an unrelated home project, we stumbled across some termite damage and wood rot. I received the call at lunch and called Cass the afternoon and he and his crew were out at our house that evening because this was an extremely time sensitive fix. They built us a beautiful covered porch earlier this year so when I needed a quality contractor that was DEPENDABLE, I called Cass and crew. Work was performed quickly and meticulous. His crew are always curteous and respectful. Thanks again guys.

I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The project started on the date promised. The crew was at the house every day at 8:00, worked all day, and kept at it until the end of the day. The crew leader checked with me first whenever something about the project needed to be modified or when there were choices that needed to be made. All of my expectations were met or exceeded. Materials used were high quality, as was the quality of work. I would recommend this company highly for any deck and related project.

They were responsive to any questions I had and gave me a quote quickly. I had an additional repair I needed done on the posts on the deck and he was willing to repair that for me even though it was not a big job. I really appreciated that. The work took about 3 days to complete. Their prices were reasonable.

Overall, we are very pleased with Cass and his crew at All weather decks. We had a patio and deck replaced with a new composite deck, stamped patio, and screened in porch with the under deck guttering system. The positives is that they really know what they are doing. I was given good ideas of what would look good and was given a bid quickly along with a break down in prices from the patio, removal of the old deck and patio, the composite we used, the lighting, the under deck guttering system, and everything that was to go along with the construction. The quality was very good and the crew did a very nice job with communicating issues and making sure everything worked right. Cass also did a nice job with communicating any problems to us so we were aware of any cost changes. For the most part, we were not charged anything hidden or extra except for the deck lighting which we already agreed on prior to the construction so there were no surprises there. My only negative if you can really call this one was that the under deck guttering system had several leaks and the gutter guy had to come out several times to try and fix it. I am not sure if these things just leak with heavy rains but I still have a few leaks that may just have to be that way. Cass was very good about sending someone out to continue to fix the problem. Again, I think sometimes these things just leak in the corners with heavy rains yet its not horrible so I am not to concerned about it. I would highly recommend All Weather Decks with any new deck or patio construction. We are very pleased.

This experience for me was very mixed. There were quality issues in the early stages, some of which were never resolved to my satisfaction. Structural as well as aesthetic. There were no drawings of the pergola to review beforehand although I was told there would be. I ended up designing my own with specific measurements so there would be no miscommunication ( so I thought) Then there were the holes left from the old deck posts as well as the piles of dirt left from the new posts that left me with drainage issues and water in my basement after a good rain. I had to straddle the joists and fill the holes and level the dirt the best i could before the crew came the next day with the decking. Early on was told I would probably"lose " some shrubs in the area of the pergola which I was fine with. I was not expecting the decking which is only off the ground about 6", to be built right over my (shade loving) shrubs without digging them out. I'm sure they will keep growing and be problematic in the future. There were so many unfortunate things and quality issues that happened during the process that I felt I had to talk to someone else other than the team I was working with. This is when things began to improve. Cass came in with his team and totally reworked part of the pergola that was not properly executed. I appreciated his "How can I make things right" attitude. It was too late to make many things right but this one was the most important to me. The professionalism of Cass and his crew and the staining crew saved my review from being more in the "C" and "D" range. I had high expectations for a trouble free "A" quality job but was very disappointed. All in all, however, It's a lovely space I know I will enjoy once I can see past all the "problem" areas that couldn't be fixed.

Fabulous responsiveness from caring and compassionate owner. Work done very well, quickly and on time. Workers were polite, neat and hard working. Attention to detail and kept their word. Highly recommend.

03Jul14 - The Provider (Scott Otto) arrived ~ 2- 2.5 hours + late for appointment for estimate. Mr. Otto was at our Residence for, perhaps, 10 minutes from time of arrival, look at project, discussion, out the door. Upon departed, Mr Otto left his card & stated he would submit an estimate over the upcoming weekend. As it was a Holiday weekend we didn't find this necessary, the following week would have sufficed. 08Jul14 - Homeowners didn't receive an estimate from My Otto within the specified timeframe & so inquired via email 09Jul14 - Homeowners received a nondescript fee for service, it did not specify the scope, an itemized list of (estimated) materials, labor costs or even the design concept. 09Jul14 - I replied to Scott Otto, requesting an itemized estimate & what his design plan entailed. I received no further correspondence from Scott Otto. 14Jul14 - Review submission, I can only hazard a guess at Scott Otto's estimate, what he supplied,, several days late was so vague he could have suggested it while onsite. As he only provided the most vague estimate after I followed up days after he indicated an estimate would be forthcoming leaves me believing he was never interested in the project. On that final note, I described the project, dimensions, etc when requesting his bid so he (should have) been aware of the project scope when he arrived unapologetically hours late for appointment. It's probably a given but, of course, I would not recommend "All Weather Decks" to anyone based on my experience.

Cass Brinkman and the All Weather Decks crew executed our new deck vision perfectly. The crew's attention to detail was outstanding. The attention to detail includes not only the construction,but also with the clean up. Whenever I called with questions or requests Cass was quick to return my call or handle the situation/request in a prompt and efficient manner. Cass was flexible with additional requests that were outside of the original project description, and the additional cost was within reason. We needed to replace our 14 year old cedar deck, and we contracted with Cass to construct a new deck that was 3 feet wider using Evergrain Composite Decking (Weathered Wood) with flagstone landing areas and a path. We were pleasantly surprised when Cass called to start the project earlier than originally scheduled. The crew removed the old decking in one day and immediately started constructing the new deck. The crew had great attention to detail, and efficiently laid the new Evergrain Decking. We created a different staircase with the opening on the deck being 6 feet wide going down 4 steps to a landing area and then two more traditionally sized staircases going off to the right and left. The stairs ending with a flagstone landing and a pathway on the right side for our bbq smoker. We also had lights attached to the deck posts that are beyond what you would find at a local chain hardware store, and the lights create a nice ambience for sitting on the deck at night.. (All Weather Decks has a link to the lights on their site.) Our new deck is beautiful and we would highly recommend All Weather Decks to our friends.

Scott and the crew did a great job building new deck, I couldn't be more happy. I never imagined i would have as nice a new deck. The crews arrived when scheduled and put in a long day and half to finish my project and turned my idea into a beautifully crafted heavy duty structure that i will proudly show off. These guys deserve all the credit i can heap on them.....thanks !

Let me say first that I'm the son of structural engineer so hiring folks for project work is always a task. I met with several contractors, and in the end, Cass was the last man standing. He was only one that could see the complete project "vision" and eased any and all doubts in my mind about completing this. This was by far the largest home renovation project we've ever done and it was on a massive scale. Not only that, but we had a specific design/look we were going for (Colorado lodge, rustic cedar, etc). Cass and team saw the vision and executed. He is about as mellow as they come, in a good way and projected complete calm confidence. Truth be told, there were some times I thought we were in over my head but held our hand the whole way. In the end, as I write this from our new outdoor living area, it is EXACTLY what we envisioned. We have already spent more time in this space in the past few months than the total previous 5 years prior. Thanks to Cass, Alex, and team for a tremendous job well done. Save your time and energy and hire All Weather; they will make it happen.

Cass and team did an amazing job. The back of our house faces west, so we've never been able to spend quality family time in the backyard at the end of the day. The sun is always blazing so we've always spent out time in front. I reached out to 3 different companies off of Angie's list. Only two responded back to me and Cass was the only one that was on time with his bid and offered to provide us 3D images of what our new deck would look like. They weren't the cheapest of my bids, but I can tell you that I got my money's worth. His entire crew was great to work with. Always on time and the work completed it top notch. I would certainly refer Cass and team to any of my friends and family and will not hesitate to use them in the future. Everyone on the team was a pleasure to work with and my family will enjoy this deck for many years to come.

Cass Brinkman, owner of of All Weather Decks & his crew performed there services with the utmost professionalism and quality workmanship. The finished product more than exceeded our expectations. Hands down this was the best experience of any building project we have done.

Prompt. Did what they quoted. Came back to clean up the decking. It was a muddy day when the work was done.

Cass and team built a composite wood deck for us in 2009. We had issues with it where the deck did sag within 6 months but Cass sent out somebody to fix it temporarily. I was SUPER Surprised to get a call from Cass proactively 2 days back as I had complained that the deck was sagging badly. He came over to the home site, inspected the changes required and got the material dropped on the same day. Additionally, his team came in today morning sharp at 8:00 AM to fix the deck and have done a super job of securing all the issue areas and jacking up the deck to its original height. I have to say that I'm super impressed with the professional attitude both from Cass and his team. And I have to mention again that Cass volunteered to fix this to ensure customer satisfaction. He has earned my respect with his professionalism and has gone over and above my expectations. Just for this, I would recommend using them for a job. Thank you Cass ! Am hoping that we will enjoy our composite deck for a long time to come.

We're down to a few open items regarding the storage area and staining in the spring. They used quality supplies and workmanship was very nice. I would use again.

We could not have been happier with the way things worked out. Cass was always available when we needed him for any changes or concerns that we had. His crew complied with any requests we had and did their work thoroughly and professionally. We will definitely use All Weather Decks for our next project!

Cass is a great guy to work with. He has a very "can do" attitude. Received other bids and no one would bid the entire project in total. They would bid tear out, new deck, etc. But wanted to see how much excavation needed done before would bid on concrete patio, walls, etc. Cass was able to bid entire project, made multiple changes when I would change my mind, and had excellent craftsman. He is very flexible with changes in design as the project progressed. He is very responsive, returns calls promptly, and kept me informed. There were some unanticipated added work that he did without charge. He stuck to his bid and did beautiful work for the price agreed upon. I was very particular how I wanted some things done, and he came through. Of course your lawn gets torn up with a project like this and he had to go through part of my neighbors lawn. His workers repaired my neighbors lawn as promised and mine also which was not expected. His crew manager, Alex, is a great guy who really cares about his work. My questions or concerns during the process were respected and any problems addressed no matter how small. Cass really does care about his customers and works for your complete satisfaction. This was a large project and it came out beautiful for what I found to be a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

It took them less than a week to do this. Scheduling with them was fine. They did a very nice job. Cass the owner was very easy to deal with and was very pleasant. It was just a positive experience.

Excellent is all I can say. Cass, the owner, was very responsive, always returned phone calls promptly. His crew showed up on time - very courteous and very professional. This big job was finished a day earlier than quoted. His crew was very meticulous. Cass was fun and easy to work with and very helpful with the design. He worked with me to make sure I made the best choices within my budget. We couldn't be happier with our 3 very high off the ground decks. They look gorgeous! We had 3 other companies make a bid before we decided to go with All Weather Decks. We looked at a deck they were building in the neighborhood and our neighbors highly recommended them.
