All Weather Decks

Talk about Quality & Amazing Crew! When we first started with our new covered, screen-in, 13'x20' deck we got 3 bids. One company I worried just from the initial meeting they wouldn't be able to complete the job, another was so over confident I felt like they were just snobbish and would cost a ton of money (I was right, highest bid, and longest turn around!), but Brett at All Weather Decks was awesome right from the start! He could see my vision and had lots of options to help keep the cost reasonable, knowing a project like this could get up there. They turned in the HOA docs for us (SO NICE!) and got the permit with the city. Then when everything was a go they began. The crew was incredibly kind and addressed concerns if I had any throughout the project, jumping on anything that I wanted changed, asking my opinion on anything that could be one way or another. They wanted me to be happy with the finished project and you could tell they have pride in their workmanship. I get compliments on our deck constantly and have had other contractors state how impressed they are with the quality. Throughout the project I was able to work with the crew and Brett in sales, which I have found in a lot of companies the salesman is MIA once a project starts, but not the case here. We enjoyed working with All Weather Decks and LOVE our addition so much, THANK YOU!

Reasonable cost. Excellent results. My project involved tearing out old deck elements and replacing them. It was complicated by the need to coordinate the work of another company and the tear down revealed additional challenges. At the end of every day the crew cleaned up the site. All was handled professionally by the great folks in their project management (esp. Shari!) and installation teams.

We had an issue with the Fortress rail system previously installed by All Weather Decks on a wonderful deck with under deck covering. The railing was covered by warranty and everyone at AWD went above and beyond to help get the correct order from Fortress and the claims company. They helped everyone stay on task and get the replacement railing installed! Shari the Office Manager was the greatest!

Steve and his crews were outstanding. They took my simple project and turned it into a show stopper for me. They went over and above, tore off my old wooden deck, poured a gorgeous concrete patio, built a lovely stairway down from my back slider door, added Black Steel railings on both sides of the stairway and it's perfection. What a wonderful way to end 2019, with a huge smile on my face every time I get up in the morning and look outside to my backyard. Thanks Steve! I highly recommend this company, they were great to work with.

We called to get an estimate for a deck. They scheduled a time. Then we get a call that day that the person is sick and cannot make it, ok fine. They don’t reschedule. We called back a week later to get it rescheduled. He came on a Friday afternoon and measured and everything. We still have not heard back about the estimate over 2 weeks later. Guess they won’t be getting my money.

Excellent, workers polite, professional. Quality work

The work was done professionally. Perhaps even more importantly, the two men who did the work were responsive to requests and were consistently positive and eager to fulfill the specs of the job to the highest degree.

Excellent all around. They built as a screened-in patio under our existing deck. Love it could be happier! The crew was polite courteous and very professional. Was in and out in 2 days

Excellent, great installation crew, very experienced.

We replaced an old new deck with a new cedar deck. We increase the size somewhat and moved the stairs. The rails that Ashley suggested were just what we wanted for reduced maintenance. We were well pleased with the quality of all of the work. The post cap lighting was the icing on the cake. We have received many compliments from our neighbors as to how nice the new deck looks.

Great. Having them come back and add a patio to my backyard. Easy to deal with and their price was reasonable.. it was high but reasonable due to the quality of the job. Jeff was the foreman on the job and was very good to work with.

Like clock work. First class service and the sales representative was with me the entire trip. Alway just a text away with FAST response time and always friendly and helpful.

They built a great deck in June 2015, lots of complements. However they used Behr Premium deck stain to stain deck, after two years stain was blistering and pealing. Called them to come out and re-stained deck, said they no longer stain decks and recommended Renew Crew. They came out and tried to remove the Behr stain but their chemical stripper would not cut it. Said would have to sand off and they do not do. Called All Weather Deck and told them of my problem. They came out and sanded the old Behr stain off at NO CHARGE, now it's ready for the good stuff. Took 2 guys 2-3 days to complete. Great company to do business with.

I am impressed by Scott Otto and the workers of All Weather Decks. I had a 20yr old treated lumber deck that was in sad shape. Scott replaced it with a new composite deck, metal railings, and it looks great and feels very solid. His workers were very efficient and made quick work of the tear-down and rebuild. I was amazed how quickly it all came together. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up the jobsite after they were finished. The best cleanup job after having work done that I've experienced. Having that old deck gone is a load off my mind.

Went well. Of the 3 Angie's List bids, this was the middle bid. Went with a different deck guy. All Weather Deck's bid (Steve Hodes) showed courtesy, punctuality, negotiability and competence. While not the lowest bid--and I don't always go for the lowest bid--their bid was a good reasonable bid. I am a single woman homeowner. It is really important that the customer is comfortable, can get all questions answered and that the company is approachable and flexible. That happened!

I would use All Weather Decks again in the future.

They did a good job. They were good.

Waited quite a long time to get the permit issued by the city due to the fact that the builder didn't have certified engineer drawings for review. Getting those drawings from an engineer seemed like getting teeth pulled, and took a number of weeks. Once the drawings were taken to the city, the permit was issued promptly. Then rain delayed concrete getting poured and finally after about 10 days, the patio was poured. Phone calls with questions I had were initially returned fairly quickly, then they became ignored with no call back. That was frustrating and it made us feel as though we were becoming a bother to the owner. I finally began calling my salesman with the questions and he had a magic phone # in which he could call the owner and get answers to my questions. In my opinion, not a way to run a business, especially when spending 5 figures. After the concrete was poured, Diego and Umberto began construction of the roof and completed it promptly and with incredible expertise. While there was a slight language barrier, the work they performed was absolutely precise with superb craftsmanship. Both of these gentlemen are definite assets to AWD. The result of their hard labor is really the envy of the neighborhood.

Steve was great to work with as we made plans for the deck. He was available to answer questions and provide us pricing and information as our plans evolved. Our project started later than we hoped due to other projects in line before ours. The workers were so kind and pleasant to work with. They sincerely wanted to provide us with the outcome we were looking for. We are pretty attentive to detail, so we were particular about certain parts of the project that we had to keep asking to be redone until they were to our satisfaction. To their credit, they always responded quickly to fix any problems or concerns. I wish they could have been avoided with a little more attention in the first place. However, we ended up with a beautiful deck overlooking our backyard. It is very sturdy and well built. I feel like I am on vacation when I sit outside!

Long review short: Job outsourced, no supervision on crew or any follow up to make sure job was completed properly and broken property handled poorly. We were those typical difficult home owners that were on a budget and completely in the dark about what we wanted. Cass was great, he was patient with us and very helpful. We ended up deciding on a pre-fab gazebo from Costco and a 12x12 deck. That is where the contact with Cass all but ended, except when we suddenly got an email the job was complete, drop a check in the mail. The fellows that came out to build were very nice, but the clean up after the job was non- existent. Large and small chunks of concrete were left everywhere, there were empty water bottles left in the yard, I found a box of drill bits, a bucket, an empty concrete bag and multiples of those plastic straps that were on the pallet. Not to mention there was a pallet with 5 50lb bags of concrete and over a dozen boards left blocking half our driveway and garage. I emailed Cass back and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I included photos for him. Cass very politely apologized and said he would get someone to come out and take care of everything. We ended up having to move the stuff out of the driveway so we could use our garage again. We then are out and trying to enjoy our newly refinished space and notice on the side of our concrete patio slab there is a large portion from the post of the gazebo to the house (2ftx8in) now falling off. I doubt with them drilling into the patio slab that had already been mud jacked once by the previous homeowners there was anything that could be done to prevent this, but I would think someone would bring it to our attention rather than letting us find it on our own. So again I email Cass and let him know that I am upset this wasn't brought to our attention he emails back that the crack was already there and that the equipment they were using couldn't have caused it. Okay. I am not a contractor, and if I could build decks I wouldn't have paid someone to do it for me, but I am not an idiot. If that large chunk of our patio was falling off before A. We would have noticed B. We would have considered repairing it/covering it when we had the bid done C. It was incredibly unintelligent to screw those bolts down into a crack. Why on earth would you drill holes to bolt something down into a crack? But okay, thanks for the small lesson on crack age. So, we have a built deck (pressure treated deck no hand rails 12x12) assumed that we were getting a 'finished' deck. Which is our mistake, no doubt, but we paid $3168 for just a deck-no stain. Then we paid $1600 to have them build the pre-fab gazebo for us. We talked about whether the deck would need a step- weren't sure....deck definitely needs a step-no one even offered with all the left over materials to even talk about what building a step would entail. Pretty confident with those 5 bags of concrete and over a dozen deck boards someone could have whipped out a step-but nope. If you look on their website our project is definitely way on the small scale for what they do, but we plan on building on as we can afford and almost 5k (over 5k-we had to buy the gazebo before they could build it!) is not a small amount of money. I just don't feel our project was taken seriously, it was outsourced and there was no supervision, I feel like the lying and hiding the crack is shady and that is not the way to have a repeat customer. We will be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

Excellent. They were very prompt and easy to work with. A lot of companies didn't have time to do repairs - they only were doing new jobs - but All Weather came out, gave us a good estimate and had the work completed in a very timely manner. The quality is great. Would highly recommend.

Representative from AWD gave us great design suggestions and the cost was reasonable...these are the points that sold us on this contractor. The crew showed up as scheduled and worked diligently through one of the hottest days of the summer. The patio and pergola came out very nice in the end. We did have a couple of hurdles to overcome; the weather was a bit uncooperative for the concrete pour and we needed to have AWD come back and replace one of the pergola joists. I rated AWD lower for responsiveness because the replacement of the joist took a number of emails and many months to come to resolution. In the end, however, AWD followed through with a quality install and we are satisfied.

They did a very good job. I would recommend to anyone.

I went with another contractor only because their estimate was lower than All Weather Decks by approximately $2,000. I did receive a follow-up email a few months later from All Weather Decks to offer their services again if I was still needing the work done or any work in the future. Good communication.
