It took two days to get someone out to even look at issue. He showed up 1 hour late, was here 15 minutes and charged $70 to only look at it and tell me what I already knew. That person could not give the estimate to repair. Took another 8 hours to get someone out to write up proposal - plus they could not give me the price because it had to be looked at by a supervisor. Then it took another 24 hours and two phone calls to get the proposal. The proposal included a bunch of work that was unrelated to fixing the issue, work that we never asked for. I asked for a revised proposal. In the meantime we had been without a sewer for 5 days. I finally got back a revised proposal 6 days later. From the time I asked for someone to look at this until I received the revised proposal it took 10 days. In the meantime I had two other estimates done, both of which were 50% lower than the revised proposal. One of these actually had the work done before A-1 ever got back to me with a revised proposal. The customer service is not good at all. No communication, price too high. I cannot understand how the owners of this company could allow a potential customer to go without a sewer connection for 10 days before even providing an estimate. Sad. I will NEVER go back to this company for anything.

Great. Toilet functioning well now. Plumbing issues always feel like an emergency. The technicians are always extremely hard working and dependable. They were at my house within 2 hours of my phone call. I recommend this company and use them for my clients and their homes as well.

I have had drain work in the past so I knew I could trust A-1. Technicians are first rate and I would not call anyone else.

I will use them in the future. They come out the same day and customer service is awesome. When the drain was clogged they came out the same day and cleared it. Two and a half months later it was backing up again and they came out within hours of me calling and cleared it for free. They have earned my business

It always happens at the worse time! You suddenly discover that your main sewer drain has backed up creating a mess that needs immediate attention. Who to call? Well as it happens we called on a weekend during which the city was frozen in ice and people all over were requiring help. Most of the numbers that we phoned did not even want to take our names. One company even wanted our credit card information ahead of time since they would charge us $150 simply for the privilege of coming to our home and providing us an estimate on the repair bill. Not so with A1-Septic. They were polite, they were sympathetic and understanding and assured us that even though they too were extremely busy, a technician would be sent to our house in a timely fashion to assess and to fix the situation. When their technician arrived he went right to work on the issue and quickly determine that the problem was not nearly as bad as we had assumed. He was able to clear our drain in a very timely manner and to even assist us in cleaning up some of the mess before he had to leave! You know you don't expect a drain cleaner to be polite, courteous and efficient; however that is exactly what we got with this company. As a result of our experience we can highly recommend using their services.

This company came recommended from a granite supply company who made some countertops for our bathrooms. I made appointments for two days - the first day was for unhook of faucets and plumbing and the second day was for a rehook of everything once the new counters and sinks were in place and replacement of a roman tub faucet. On the first day the plumber showed up within the four hour timeframe they advised and only unhooked the faucets - did not unhook the plumbing for the new countertops and sinks that were being delivered the following day. I did not check the plumber's work so I didn't see that the plumbing pipes remained hooked to the old sinks. On the second day, the countertop guys arrived and pointed out the plumbing had not been disconnected and ended up unhooking the plumbing (this took all of 30 minutes) and set all the parts in a bucket for re-use. They installed the counters and sinks about the time the plumber,named Brian, arrived for re-installation of the sinks, plumbing and replace faucet on a roman tub. The access for the roman tub needed to be scored (painted edges) and removed so he could access the faucet from underneath. Brian just stood in the bathroom and looked at the tub, then insisted that the access door had been nailed on the surround. I told him it was only painted on. He continued to stand and stare at me. I scored the paint and had to try and pry the door off - I'm 57 with arthritis in my hands - I had some difficulty and he kept saying the door was nailed on - I asked him if he would like to help take the door off and he stated, "No, I'm a plumber not a carpenter. If I damage it, I have to repair it." I told him that I had hired A-1 for the entire job, and would appreciate some help if he expected to get it done. Brian finally helped and pried the door off - it was not nailed - it had a wooden wedge type attachment to keep the door on the surround. Then, Brian said it was going to take him around 5-6 hours to hook the plumbing, faucets and roman tub faucet. I was very surprised and asked him how much that was going to cost and he said he would 'ballpark it around $650 minimum" I was surprised and asked why it would be so much since the plumber the first day took about an hour to unhook the faucets and the countertop guys only took 30 minutes to unhook everything. Brian said he would look at the job again to see how much time it would take but if he didn't have everything, that would set him back on parts, etc. I told him to think about his bid and estimate his time. I left him alone for about 5 minutes and came back to see if he had any better assessment of the situation - I asked him for his estimate again and he said, "Yeah, probably $650-700 - but if it turns out not to take that much time, I'll refigure it." I told him that was not good enough and the estimate was too high - he didn't see to want to tackle the job anyway and I asked him gather his items and his day was over at this job. I paid for the service call for each day $134.00 each time. No one from the company contacted me until four days after this incident when I received an email saying it was 'okay if I didn't want to leave a review'. I will never use this company again and I will not recommend this company to anyone I know.

Evidently a foreign object was in the toilet drain line in our half-bath. The unflushed waste was smelling up the nearby kitchen area. I thought I had cleared it with a drain auger, but the stoppage recurred soon after. I thought I had done all I could with the tools I had, so I called around for a plumber. It was the Friday evening and we had a house full of company coming in for the weekend, so it was an emergency. About the 6th place I called suggested that A-1 would be my best bet. I called them and they promised a tech within 2 to 3 hours. He got here in 2, worked for probably 30 - 45 minutes, and fixed the problem. He only charged me $119 for the work, which was less than the quote. I suspect he might have given me a senior discount. As for demeanor, I thought at first he was morose, but the truth is that all my company got there at the same time he did and there was a lot of confusion. When he came in to talk to me after the repair, I found him to be very friendly, and decided I had misjudged him completely.

An unpleasant surprise diagnosis turned out to be correct. Repair appointment was scheduled quickly. Arrived a little late but extremely personable. Worked with me on price. I was able to leave the property and come back at the end of the day.

The job was performed very well. Tech was very thorough and explained what he had found in the line.

It went well. I had a slow moving drain, no water pressure at the faucet and the drain stop was seized up. Brian was professional and seemed to know his stuff. Gave me good information to make correct decisions. He was on time, fixed the issues promptly and left the area totally clean. Very positive transaction.

I called A1 to auger out the toilet line from my garage to my septic tank. The auger discovered that the toilet fed into a storage tank in my garage and that the pump wasn't working. We just bought the house, so I wasn't aware of the storage tank. After consulting with me, the auger guy called one his plumbers out, who showed up within the hour. Instead of trying to sell me a new pump, the plumber just unclogged the old one.

This was a challenging repair. The issue was a back flow valve on our home lawn irrigation system. When the last valve on the sprinkler system would close down, the original back flow valve sent torrents of water into our basement. Two trips involved attempts on repairs. The final trip was the replacement and inspection of the valve. A-1 did good work, were professional, and communicated well. Recommend.

Great! I called earlier in the day and asked to get the service done after 7:00pm. They were very easy to work with. My serviceman Justin was at my house by 6:55 and was out the door and done by 7:15. He is a very nice and friendly guy! I felt very comfortable with him.

Very well. A new part had to be installed. The technician had to purchase it and returned within the hour. From our call for service to completion, only a few hours elapsed. Quick, professional, friendly service. I don't know how this company's pricing compares to others, but we felt it was worth it to have our problem resolved quickly and efficiently.

On my 2nd visit they technicians found a clog and cleared it. They applied my initial service charge from a recent visit to the 2nd visit which I was very happy about since on the first visit the tech could not locate the issue. I was 100% satisfied with everything including the quick turnaround time and 7 days a week appointment availability.

Ross was here within 2 hours. He had the drain cleared within 30 minutes and cleaned up the area nicely.

The technician was extremely knowledgeable and while he could not definitively diagnose our drain overflow problem without using a camera, he was able to offer the most likely causes and explain next steps and possible solutions. He also got our drain very clean and working well for at least the short term. We were pleased with the service.
