I would probably not use them again.

They wanted to charge for an estimate and the person on the phone tried to talk me into paying for service that I didn't need to see if I needed an estimate, which I knew I needed. I said no thanks.

It was great! I was happy they were willing to come out anytime on a saturday. The appt was great from start to finish.

Their original estimate was good but I asked for more to be done. The end result was very little over the estimate and I felt it was very fair.

They came initially within an hour of my call. When the drain backed up again later, they came back for no charge. Everything has been fine since.

I called A-1 and was able to get the necessary pricing information over the phone. Knowing their price was in the reasonable range and having been referred to them, I set an appointment for the work. The technician, Dave, was prompt, professional in appearance and attitude and explained to me exactly what he was going to do, the cost and the results. He completed the work without interruption or hesitation, cleaned up the area in our basement where the sump is located, and informed me of the necessary electrical work that needed to be done to make sure the back-up had a electrical source different than the sump pump.

They are wonderful. It’s a big company here. They have been providing service to us for a long time. They can always do what anybody else can't do and they always have a very reasonable price. They come right away. They are great. They are always friendly and they always come right away. Their answering service is friendly and sometimes their higher up's answer. They are always here.

We were required to have the repairs made by someone from the county's approved list so I got six estmates. A-1's estimate was the very highest one that we got. The estimator was very polite and professional but estimated 2 men at 8 hours at a cost of over $1600. He stated that the ends of the tank needed to be excavated to do the work. We ended up getting the repairs made for less than $400 by a company that sent two men. They didn't do the excavation but worked through the inspection ports on the top of the tank. They finished in 1 hour 45 minutes. The repairs were re-inspected by the county and approved. If you are considering using A-1, please get some competing bids first!

They interfaced with the inspectors and saved me a lot of money. This was a great experience. I would hire them again.

Didn't show up when promised, seemed in a hurry to leave, didn't take trash out with him, had me run water in the shower upstairs while I watched the floor drain downstairs to ensure the line was clear; the shower backed up and I had water pouring into the basement through the bathroom floor. Then charged $75 for 2-minute job to clean out the shower!

Dependable, reliable and always show up!!! I have used them quite a few times over the years and I will continue to do so.

I woke up to no hot water on a Saturday morning. A-1 was one of the plumbers I called for an estimate. Their price was comparable to others. I chose another company that was able to do the job sooner.

The only problem I had was the amount of time it took to get to us. On the first call he was finishing a job and would be here shortly. (Shortly to me means in the next hour or two.) It took 5 hours for him to get here. I just think the company should have kept me informed better.

CAME PROMPTLY IN AN EMERGENCY CALL. USED THEM ON THREE OCCASIONS, AND WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED BOTH TIMES WITH THE WORK. WOULD CALL AGAIN, AND RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

FREE ESTIMATES ARE USUALLY THE NORM, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ADVERTISE SUCH. AND $55 FOR A SERVICE CALL WHERE NO WORK IS PERFORMED IS RIDICULOUS. THERE WAS EVEN A $5.00 CHARGE FOR ''MISC. SUPPLIES & CONSUMABLES'', WHICH I ASSUME IS THE RECEIPT HE WROTE ME, AS NOTHING ELSE WAS CONSUMED. I WOULD NOT CONSIDER THIS COMPANY TO EMPTY MY CHAMBER POT.

CLEANED MAIN SEWER ($98.50) AND THEY HAD REPLACED THE SEWER LINE ACROSS THE BASEMENT FLOOR. A YEAR LATER, THEY SNAKED THE LINE. VERY PROMPT AND COME RIGHT IN AND DO THE JOB.

THEY PROVIDED PUNCTUAL, PROMPT SERVICE FOR A REASONABLE PRICE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS FRIENDLY, DIRECT, AND HONEST. THEY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AND WERE VERY EASY TO DEAL WITH. THEY ARRIVED QUICKLY, PERFORMED THE JOB, AND WERE ON THEIR WAY.

A-1 PLUMBING SENT 2 GUYS OUT FOR 4 HOURS AND CHARGED ME $235. MY DEPENDABLE PLUMBER COMES OUT HIMSELF AND COMPLETES THE SAME WORK IN 20 MINUTES AND CHARGES ME $99.

A BACKUP OCCURRED IN A FLOOR DRAIN IN A FINISHED BASEMENT. WHEN INITIAL SNAKING DID NOT FIND A SLUDGE CLOG IN THE MAIN LINE, RUSS PHONED A COMPANY ASSOCIATE. THEY BRAINSTORMED AND FOUND A SECONDARY LINE WHICH WAS CLEARED PROMPTLY. RUSS CAME SOON AFTER OUR CALL ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND HE AND HIS ASSOCIATE WORKED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND SOLVE IT. THEY WERE BOTH VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND RESOURCEFUL. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT CLEAN-UP JOB; CAREFUL AND FASTIDIOUS. THE CHARGE WAS MUCH LESS THAN WE ANTICIPATED FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY WERE HERE. I WOULD RECOMMEND A-1 TO ANYONE AND, THOUGH I HOPE WE NEVER HAVE TO, WOULDN'T HESITATE TO CALL THEM IN THE FUTURE.

I FEEL MORE WORK WAS DONE THAN WAS NEEDED. THE COST WAS WAY TOO HIGH. I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

THEY ARE ON TIME TO DO THE JOB. THEY CHARGE A FAIR PRICE AND THEY DO A GOOD JOB OF NOT LEAVING A MESS WHEN THEY ARE DONE.

A-1 SEWER AND SEPTIC WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY CAME TO SERVICE MY LINE WITHIN TWO HOURS OF MY CALL FOR HELP. IT TOOK HIM APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES TO COMPLETE AND CHARGED THE PRICE THAT I WAS QUOTED OVER THE PHONE.

WORKED DILIGENTLY TO UNCLOG TWO DRAINS, WHICH TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR. THERE WAS SOME CONCERN ABOUT THE INITIAL WORK, AND A SECOND SERVICEMAN CAME TO INSPECT AND DOUBLE CHECK TO SEE THAT IT WAS PERFORMED CORRECTLY.

CAME OUT EVEN IN A BAD ICE STORM. HE GOT LOST AND WASN'T HAPPY ABOUT THAT, BUT DID THE JOB WELL AND TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM.
