A-1 Sewer & Septic Service Inc

We have two main sewer lines, one for the bathrooms and one for the kitchen. The kitchen line was clogged and they came out and cleared it. They are open seven days a week and were able to come out and complete the job within 90 minutes of calling their office on a Saturday without, as far as I can tell, any additional charges. Mike was helpful, knowledgeable and gave us good advice to avoid the issue happening again.

A-1 Sewer & Septic Service Inc inspected my sewer line 8 years ago for a clog with a camera because of a tree root related issue. They took a jackhammer to my basement floor because there was a T pipe they couldn't snake and replaced it with a clean out. I felt like the man from A-1 Sewer & Septic Service Inc was really honest with me about how it could go but this is what they were trying to do. I was at their mercy and they could have took me for a lot more money but I totally felt like everybody was honest, they did their job, and I trusted them. Now if I have any plumbing issue A-1 Sewer & Septic Service Inc is who I call.

I put a lot raw spinach down my garbage disposal (a bad idea) and the chopped up pieces came up on the other side of the sink. I tried to force hot water down the drain while running the disposal to break up the clog but it just made it worse. I thought I heard something in my dishwasher and found out that it was full of the gunky water as well and it went all over my kitchen floor when I opened the door. I called my plumber but he said he did not clean out drains anymore and suggested that I call this company. I did and they had someone to my house within a couple of hours of my call. Joel was my technician and he knew just what to do to clear the clog. He ran a metal line thru the pipe that cleaned it out as he pushed it thru the pipe. He told me how to keep my pipes cleaned out with soda and vinegar (1/2 box of soda and 2 cups of vinegar overnight and then run the garbage disposal with hot water the next morning) which I will try to do on a monthly basis. I had printed a coupon from the company's website so got a $15.00 discount. They did not charge extra for coming on a Saturday.

The office was courteous and assured me they could come today. I called at 10:15 and they had come and gone by 2:00 PM with the problem resolved. Russ was professional and informative. Speedy, too! I will use them again.

Contractor called A-1 to come out and clean the floor drain. They didn't come on the first day. They second day, they were late by over an hour. They didn't follow the instructions to call the contractor when they were on their way, they called me at work when I was in a meeting instead--I wasn't even the one paying them! The girl that answered the phoen was never even apologetic, she was snotty and rude. The drain backed up less than two months later and we called Razor Rooter--it's been over a year without issues now. Would not recommend A-1.

I had been out of town for a couple of weeks, upon ariving at home, I noticed that there was water on the floor of our basement floor drain. I got on to Angie's List and found several reviews for A-1. I called A-1 and was able to speak to a person and not a machine, on this Saturday afternoon. The woman said that she could have a tech out within the next couple of hours. 40 minutes later Joel - the tech - called to say that he was available. Joes came over and cleared the stoppage in our main drain sewer. After the work Joel asked if we had a coupon and I said I did not - but it was nice of him to ask. I will not hesitate to use A-1 again.

The fact that they opened my daughter's sewer within an hour work compared to the competitive company who said they can't do it and that they will do it for two hours. They did a great job for me.

First, they sent a junior technician who came out and just said that the issue had broken the line and that a lot of very expensive work needed to be done to replace the entire system. He said that the issue had also broken his tool, and he couldn’t do any repairs, but still charged us for the visit, and we did pay. He also left quite a mess in the basement. I called to speak to someone in the office about it. They sent another person out, who was qualified, professional and was able to completely take care of the problem. He did an excellent job. They did not make us pay the second person, since we had already paid the first one. I just wish they had sent a qualified person to do the work the first time. The letter grades are essentially for the second person who came out, since the first technician did not do any work.

I called at 2:30 p.m., and a serviceperson met my husband at our house within the hour to snake the basement drainline and bathroom drains. My regular plumber recommended them because he's not equipped to snake lines like that, and they were every bit as reliable as he told me.

Love this company!We called first thing Monday morning because after three showers, we noticed that we had water backing up into our laundry room and downstairs family room. We were told someone could be here within th hour!!!! Great response!!! The technician was very professional and polite. He asked us to move our vehicle so that he could have access and not damage our property. He took care of the problem and answered questions we had on how to prevent it from happening again in the future. We have used this company in the past and will continue to call and recommend them!

There were 3 visits. First a plumber came and was unable to snake the drain. Second a senior technician came to diagnose the problem. (apparently the first plumber was described by A-1 as new to the trade). Third visit- they put in a quick clean out valve in the pipe just above where the object was. The goal was to try and pull it out manually but they were unsuccessful, so their plan was to jackhammer up the concrete floor and replace that section of the pipe. I finally received an estimate for $833 for that work, but that does not include the basement repair after the pipe replacement. Here is my issue- the 3rd plumber who tried to remove the object after placing the cleanout valve, said he would submit a bid for jack-hammering the concrete that evening ( Wednesday) or first thing in the morning. Apparently he became ill, so he couldn't turn in the bid for 4 days. My tenant and I called the office multiple times, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to expedite getting the bid and scheduling a repair. Their answer was 'we can't do anything until the plumber gives us the bid'; they stated they were unable to get hold of him, but they did know he was returning Monday. I asked for someone new to go out - they said that was not possible. They told me that would contact a supervisor to expedite things, but later, after talking to a supervisor, that never occurred either. The office staff was basically an impenetrable wall that I could not get beyond- they did not seem to feel this was an urgent situation but I had a tenant with a family of 5 washing their hair and taking baths in the kitchen sink for 10 days. Although they weren't rude, they were obviously put out by my repeated phone calls. Totally frustrated, I called a new plumber on Sunday, who went to the house the next day - he pulled out the object with a pair of 12 inch needle nose pliers and within a few hours, my tenants had a bathroom again after their 10 day ordeal. I did talk to the service manager Ron after it was all said and done. He was very professional- he listened and was apologetic and said he would talk to the office staff. He did offer me a discount on future repairs. The only reason I am not rating this an "F", is because of Ron's response and because the final plumber told me the clean out drain installed by A1 showed good workmanship but even in light of that, they were unable to remove the object manually when another plumber could. Although the plumbers themselves were punctual and professional, the 3rd A1 plumber did not use any of his tools to try to pull the object out. He did borrow my tenants crowbar to try and get it out but the final plumber from another company bought 7 new tools ahead of time just in case they be needed to get the object out. Fortunately his newly bought 12 inch needle nose pliers worked.

Once we discovered the basement floor drain backing up and water on the floor, we called to see if service was available--on this, one of our worst snow days! I was assured that a tech would be out, and was asked if the driveway and sidewalk were cleared, which we had just done.. I was given a "sometime this afternoon" time frame and it was very early afternoon when their service tech, Aaron, pulled up. He was very polite, very professional. I have had to use sewer service in the past, what with this being an older neighborhood with a LOT of tree roots underground. Once Aaron was done, he asked that we flush all toilets and turn on water to be sure all were draining properly. THat's when we discovered that the upstairs shower was still not draining well. So he took care of that too. We were very impressed with Aaron, he did a great job and was friendly and knowledgeable. KUDOS to you for having him as one of your crew. Outstanding!!!

We called A-1 Sewer & Septic Service after first checking their ratings with Angie. Our main sewer line was clogged to the point that we were unable to shower, run bathroom sink faucets or, FLUSH THE TOILET! We own a horse farm with 4 very large barns. But. Our house has a single bathroom or toilet so we were very anxious to get our sewer line to our septic tank opened back up-- as you can imagine! Being a Friday, we became panicky and started calling plumbing companys. We called one we'd used in the past and another recommended by Angie. But we only reached a recording when we called these 2 companys first. Another company couldn't come out until Monday! But when we called A-1 Sewer & Septic, we reached a live person by phone & we were told that they'd have a truck out to our place in 30 minutes. Not bad, as we're 9 miles from Olathe, out in the country. Their truck arrived on time and, with a little effort, A-1 had our bathroom back in operation soon. We are very pleased with their service...especially with the fact that a live person answers their phone. When ones toilet(s) don't work, its not reassuring to call a plumbing company that answers with a recorded message...telling you they will call back. Sometime.

I called at 5 pm on a Sunday and the technician arrived within 20 minutes. By 6 pm the work was finished.

pumping tank did not solve the problem so an inexperienced drain cleaner was sent who misdiagnosed the problem. later another drain cleaner was sent and found the sewer line was broken but we would have to wait for another day just for an estimate

Overall my experience was great. They were very professional I would use this company again..

They were great- went around a 60 year old magnolia tree instead of tearing it down. On time, worked hard, stayed late (like till 8pm!) 2nd day of repair in order to attach line to the main so that we weren't without a sewer system for the night. Cleaned everything up next day, including brush, bushes, tree limbs, etc. Took 3 days total for everything, but that includes the clean up day and final payment. Not something that we wanted to have to do, but overall great experience. We had used Bob Hamilton in the past for a rental and had such a bad experience with them that we were surprised at the professionalism, promptness and clean up performed by A-1.

Technician called and arrived early. He was courteous and well dressed. He got right to work, was patient and did a very thorough job. He explained just what the problem is and what I needed to do. He was not at all high pressure. In fact he was just the opposite. He told us to wait and gather more informatrion before proceeding. Use this company. They are great!

What I want is quick service and honesty and personable. I got this with them. Not others, like Bob Hamilton.

They did a great job. It was a great experience. I liked that they were able to fix everything quickly after a heavy rain.

I do not have good things to say about them. The contractor was the one they were supposed to contact but they called us instead and if you didn't give them an answer immediately then they move on to the next person. We had to reschedule and it held up the whole day of construction and I will never use them again. They were supposed to come the day before and they never showed up.

They do a great job and they have got us out of a mess several times. They are willing to take care of the issues we have, we have a lot of large trees which causes a problem with an old sewer line. They do an excellent job.

Although the sewer problem was not solved immediately, they kept working at it until it was solved, at no additional cost.

They worked on the water heater, previously. They arrived on time, did the work, and were very professional.
